Daniel puts his hand behind his back slowly before pulling out the wood chunk and going to throw it at the man in front of us. Somehow he caught it and threw it back at him and it ended up in the wall behind Darius and me.

"Riley, invite Darius and Daniel into the house," The vampire hunter says pulling out his stake from god knows where "The title is in your name."

I cock my head to the side slightly, "I don't remember inviting Ralph in though."

"He obviously compelled you." The vampire hunter says taking a step back, "Riley, invite your friends into the house and I won't kill them."

I glance at Daniel who nods slightly.

"Come on in Daniel and Darius." I say nervously rubbing my hands together.

I'm useless right now. There's nothing I can do to help them other than stay out of their way.

Before Daniel can attack him, Darius runs past him and goes to attack the man standing at the door. Before he can even touch him, someone stabs his neck with a syringe filled with some neon green stuff. Darius goes to hit the man but before he can he falls to the ground limp. 

Daniel charges at the guy but he stops and takes a few steps back towards me, "Guess you're gonna have to come in if you want Riley."

"I don't need to because she's going to come out. If she doesn't I'll kill Darius right here and now, he's only in a deep sleep but I change that." The man says grinning like a maniac.

I stand up and I go to walk to the door but Daniel grabs onto my arm roughly, "No, she's not coming out."

"What about Darius?!" I ask on the verge of a panic attack. 

"What about him?" 

"He just threatened to kill him!" I say as I struggle to pull my arm out of his hand, "I doubt he would lie about that Daniel! I can't lose anyone else!! I've already lost so much in the past forty-eight hours..."

Daniel lets me go, "You know what? You're always such an ungrateful bitch."

Daniel gives the vampire hunter a sidewards glance before speedrunning out of the room and then the house.

I clench my teeth together to keep from crying and I walk over to the vampire hunter. I try to get a couple words out but they come out in sobs. 

"Aw sweetie, it'll be fine." He says going to wipe my tears away but I flinch, take a few steps back, and trip over Darius before falling down almost on top of him.

Daniel kept my brain away from Tyler but now that he left that's that only thing plaguing my mind. 

Maybe I am an ungrateful bitch. Maybe that's why everyone I meet hurts me or ends up dead. Maybe that's why my dad hurt me. 

I try wiping the tears off my face as I stand back up but my eyes just replace them. 

Everything is my fault. Darius wouldn't be here if I didn't exist, the cat lady would still be alive, my old foster father wouldn't be facing assault and neglect charge, and Tyler would still be alive. If I was never born Tyler would be alive. 

One of the vampire hunters men hands him a syringe of something clear and he goes to stick it in my neck but out of peer instinct I try smacking it away.

"Riley, stop resisting. This is to help you calm down."

I shake my head roughly, I'm afraid of needles. 

Someone grabs me from behind so the vampire hunter quickly shoves the needle in my neck.

Like Darius, I go to resist but everything seems to go in slow motion, things get dizzy, and I go limp. 

After a few seconds of the world spinning around, things go black.
