《Saving Wisdom and Wizards || PJO x HP Crossover》Chapter 34: Horror cruxes

But for Annabeth Chase, Daughter of Athena? This plan was perfect and foolproof.
~~~
For the thousandth time that month, Percy, Ron, and Harry found themselves sitting at the round table hidden in a corner of the library, surrounded by piles and piles of books.
Hermione rushed over to the table carrying a freakishly large book. Slamming it onto the table she excitedly whispered, "Did you know there are these things called horcruxes?"
"Merlin's beard 'Mione! Where'd you find that thing?" Ron waved his hand in front of his nose to ward off the stench. Harry sneezed at the dust.
"Back of the library. It was hidden in the restricted section. Someone did not want people to find this."
"Did it occur to you that they might've had a bloody good reason?" Ron exclaimed. Hermione shrugged. Harry sneezed again.
"I think I'm allergic."
"For the last time Harry, you're not allergic to books." Hermione reprimanded.
"Not the books, the dust."
Ignoring them, Percy frowned at the name. "Horror cruxes?"
Hermione looked back at Percy, seemingly forgotten about the book. Her eyes widened when she realized what he asked. Excitedly she answered, "No. Hor- cruxes. They supposedly contain pieces of the owner's soul." Hermione smiled.
Harry, Ron, and Percy gazed confusedly at her. Rolling her eyes, Hermione clarified, "The owner is immortal as long as the horcruxes exist. To kill the being, you have to destroy the horcruxes. The more horcruxes, the harder it is to kill the owner."
Percy began to understand what Hermione was getting at. "So you think Voldy has a few soul souvenirs laying around?"
"Yes."
"Well then it looks like we found Quest A." The trio stared at Percy. "We find the horcruxes, destroy them- voila! Voldy's dead, and Annabeth's saved."
Percy turned to Hermione. "So. How do we find them?"
Hermione looked uncomfortable. "I don't know."
"That's a first." Ron mumbled.
Hermione shot him a glare. "The book says that the person connects themselves to objects that are personal to them."
"Great. So what's important to Mr. Voldemort?" Percy asked. Sarcastically, he started counting on his fingers. "Murder, death, power... should I go on?"
Ron stifled a laugh.
"Those aren't objects Percy."
Percy threw his hands up in the air. "Well gee, Hermione, I didn't realize. I don't know the guy. He literally could've used anything!" Percy mimicked Voldemort, "When I was in the third grade, I saw this rock and it brought me tears of joy. Now, since I'm an all powerful murderous wizard, I'm gonna make that pebble my immortal souvenir."
Hermione and Harry stared at Percy.
"I mean- he has a point." Ron said. "It could literally be anything. A rock, quill, water even. Who knows." Ron slumped into the back of his chair.
Harry sat up. "The diary."
Percy looked at him. "The what?"
"The diary. Tom Riddle's diary. When we destroyed it in the Chamber, it gave off a weird mist glow thing and a scream. That must've been a horcrux."
"Chamber?"
Harry shook his head at Percy's question. "Chamber of Secrets. Doesn't matter now. Point is, that's one horcrux down."
Hermione nodded. "Yeah, and potential thousands more to go."
~~~
Percy flopped onto his bed hoping for once, a sleep filled with dreams.
The closer him and the trio have gotten to planning their quests, the more dreams he's had of Annabeth. Normally they'd drive him crazy, but Percy already felt crazy, so really they're not driving him insane at all.
With that lovely thought, Percy fell asleep.
"Percy..."
Percy bolted upright.
"Percy."
Looking around, Percy rubbed his eyes. Was he dreaming? He yawned looking at the clock. He got exactly 45 minutes of sleep.
"Percy would you stop looking like a seaweed brain and follow my voice?"
Percy gaped. That was Annabeth's voice. He didn't care that most likely this was a trick or trap or whatever set by Mr. Voldy, but the chance that that really was Annabeth... he couldn't ignore it.
"Percy. We don't have much time. Would you stop drooling and hurry up?" Annabeth's voice ordered.
Percy gave a mock salute to the air. "Yes, ma'am." He mumbled.
Quietly climbing out of bed, Percy checked his pocket for Riptide, and grabbed his wand and backpack (just in case).
"Where are you?" Percy whispered.
"Dormitory of course." Neville replied half asleep.
"Go back to sleep, Neville."
Neville rolled over, muttering something about potions.
Percy tiptoed into the Gryffindor common room and looked around. It was empty.
"Percy, the lake."
Percy inwardly groaned. A bit harshly he replied, "What about the lake?"
"Meet me there."
"You- you're at the lake? Like physically at the lake?" Percy asked. No response.
Percy frowned. If Annabeth is at Hogwarts why didn't she just go into the school? It's late November. Pitch dark and cold. Not to mention it was like 1 am.
Something felt off about the whole thing.
It would be risky to go out by himself.
And stupid.
But that was a stupid risk Percy was willing to take.
"Percy, would you please hurry up?" Annabeth's voice continued, annoyed.
Percy looked back towards the steps to the dormitory. "Yeah, yeah. I'm coming."
Percy sprinted out of the common room towards the lake.
~~~
Sunlight shone through the dormitory window causing Harry to roll over yawning, and fall onto the floor. This affectively woke up Ron.
"Bloody hell mate, when d'you become an elephant?"
Harry glared in response. Harry reached around the floor to find his glasses. Putting them on, he noticed that Percy wasn't in bed.
"Where's Percy?"
Ron looked towards the vacant bed and shrugged. "Dunno. He likes to go for morning runs. Probably doing that."
"Yeah, but it's cold out."
"I'm convinced he can't feel the cold. Besides, he wakes up early all the time and it's Saturday."
"Yeah." Harry threw on a sweatshirt. "Guess you're right."
Walking downstairs, Harry and Ron ran into Hermione.
"Morning, 'Mione." Harry yawned.
"Hey guys!" Hermione beamed.
"You seem to be in a good mood." Ron pointed out.
"I am. I stayed up all night reading more about the horcruxes. I did a bit of digging," at this Harry and Ron gave her a look, "okay, snooping, point is, I think I figured out what more of Voldemort's horcruxes are."
"You did?" Harry asked.
"There's seven, the diary being one of them. Six left. The problem is, I don't know where half of them are."
"But, you know where the other half are?"
"Yes."
"That's a start then, right?" Ron asked.
"Right." Harry and Hermione agreed.
"We should tell Percy." Hermione said excitedly.
Harry frowned. "Wait you haven't seen him?"
"Uh, no? Why? What's wrong?"
Ron shifted on his feet. "Percy wasn't in his bed this morning."
"He could be at breakfast-" Hermione started.
"No, I don't think so." Harry cut in. "I- I have a bad feeling. I can't explain it- I just, I don't know. Something feels off."
~~~
"You're not Annabeth." Percy snarled at the witch. Hands tied behind his back, blood dripping from his forehead, Percy found himself in the center of the one stone room, he swore he would never enter.
The witch cackled. "Hm. Guess not. Crucio!"
Percy's body spasmed as he let out a scream.
~~~
Annabeth stared up at the cement ceiling of the dungeons. "...Percy?" She whispered, not daring to get her hopes up.
~~~
"Now, now, Bellatrix, let's not get ahead of ourselves. The Lord will not be happy to see him in such a state."
Percy stopped screaming. Lying on the floor, he looked up to see the pale blonde haired man that he saw months earlier in his dream.
"Where's Annabeth?" Percy growled.
The man let out a creepy chuckle. Percy glared. "Funny, how you're the one lying on the floor in pain, yet you still try to interrogate."
Percy was not in the mood for games. He was running off of 45 minutes of sleep, and his to- do list did not start with getting tortured. "What'd you do with er." Percy's words began to slur.
Bellatrix walked around him. In an all too happy voice she teased, "Wouldn't you like to know, half-blood."
Percy was so done. He could take on titans, and giants, and gods. Wizards shouldn't be a problem.
"You know- I like your hair." He nodded to Bellatrix. "Looks like you got a perm from Vamps R Us."
Bellatrix cackled in amusement. "Your words don't hurt me."
"You'd best be wise to bite your tongue, boy." The bleached haired man threatened.
"Or what? You'll drown my hair in bleach to match yours? News for you bud: I can't drown, and neither can my hair." As bad of a situation he was in right now, Percy smiled at his retort. Maybe he'll make that a daily insult. Could be a catchphrase...
"Can't drown you say?" The man walked towards Percy, and bent down to make eye level with the demigod. "Let's test that, shall we?"
Percy shrugged. "Wanna bet money? I saw these awesome chocolate frogs-"
Before Percy could finish, his head was surrounded by a bubble of water. Percy weighed his options: they could know about him being a demigod with powers, so he could make a joke and tease them (which he very badly wanted to do); or, he could do what Annabeth would of told him to do, and assume they don't know about his powers.
Percy opted for the second.
Pretending to gasp for air, Percy widened his eyes and blew out his cheeks, frantically shaking his head. He would of gone over the top by using his hands, but they were currently tied very tightly behind his back.
Bellatrix and the man laughed. He put his wand down and the water fell onto Percy, soaking his shirt. Percy figured (as uncomfortable as it was) that he should stay wet.
The man smirked.
Bellatrix walked next to him and taunted, "All words. No. Talk." She cackled, then suddenly stopped.
"Lucious, Bellatrix, that is enough." Snape strode into the room, with Draco in tow.
Percy glared. "Snape. Draco. To what do I owe the pleasure?" Percy mocked, faking a bow.
In hindsight, Percy was in no position to be taunting, but he really couldn't help it.
"Percy?" Draco called. He started towards Percy, but Snape held him back. "What're you doing to him? Let me go!"
"He's been lying to you Draco." Lucious walked to his son, and put an arm on his shoulder. Snape stepped back.
"No. You don't understand. I know he's the grandson of You- Know- Who."
"Not that." Snape spoke.
Percy whipped his head towards Snape. There's no way that he knew...
"It seems Mr. Jackson has quite an exciting family. Wouldn't you agree Perseus?"
Percy glared, hoping that the gods gave him the power to smite people. They did not.
Snape turned towards Draco. "Mr. Jackson here, is a demigod."

The Five Series - redemption
Book 1 - Redemption Three generations have passed since the last near-apocalyptic war. Civilization is beginning to thrive again at an ever increasing pace. The burden of society has been once again placed on the back of a massive robotic workforce, creating a huge divide between industrial glory, and those forced to live in its shadow. Many have stubbornly held onto the old ways of self-governance from back when the government fell, but with its return, life in Welan City is changing. Aaron, a middle-aged man, who is stuck in the rut of daily life, witnesses a murder and finds himself in trouble, love, and the middle of a highly secretive robotics project. Aaron stakes his life on helping a prototype survive, and pays for it dearly. Passionate hate, love, and indifference send life in Welan City spiraling out of control, leaving no one innocent in the end. The Five Series is, well, a series. I've completed 3 of the books so far and will finish with a fourth, maybe fifth book. Book 1 is heavy on the character development side while the following will be much more decision and consequence oriented. This story reaches into the soul of a person and the universe we live in. Some people deserve a second chance, and some do not. With that im mind, no one really ever gets what they deserve though, do they? Always tell the people you care about that you love them as often as you can, they could be gone tomorrow. Would that change if you could always bring them back? I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I did writing it. Cody
