Previously on Douxie x OC

I walked back to Douxies room, entered and laid down in the bed he conjured for us with a spell for the night.

"Good night Mailin."

"Good night Douxie."

Mailins PoV:

The next morning after Douxie and I had gotten ready for the day we went to Merlin's tower.

Douxie is standing by the window, hugging himself, a sorrowful expression on his face.

"Excalibur is busted and Morgana is... is..." Douxie sighs sadly "This was never supposed to happen."

"You did what you thought was right." Archie tries to cheer him up.

Douxie walks past the Time Map as it was malfunctioning on the table and closes it "And look where that got us. History's absolutely botched. I've led us astray."

"Morgana tried to help me save Jim, but all I saw was anger and darkness." Claire says while looking at a book about shadow magic. "We share the same magic. What does that say about me?"

She goes over to Steve to comfort him after hearing him cry. After he told her why he was crying she told him that it isn't a real problem.

The door opens and Merlin comes inside, carrying the broken Excalibur.

"Camelot is in chaos and Arthur is without his blessed weapon to defend it."

Past Douxie comes in after him and struggles to carry a heavy chest which causes him to fall to the ground.

"Can't he just buy a new one?" Steve asks.

"Without Excalibur, Arthur cannot lead Camelot to war against Gunmar." Merlin clarifies.

"Which would mean the end of humanity." Archie says while jumping on the table.

"And our future." Douxie and I add with a sigh.

"I'll never get us home." Douxie says.

"And I'll never save Jim." Claire says sadly "but we can fix this." She says optimistically. "Right, Douxie?" She turns to him, who turns away sadly.

"There's only one who can. Make ready. I must bring Excalibur to the Lady of the Lake." Merlin says.

"She's real?" Claire asks surprised.

"So, this plan of yours... well, surely you'll need help. Maybe, maybe we can fix this together." Douxie says as he stands next to Merlin.

"Agreed." Merlin says.

"I promise I can make it righ- wait, we are?" Douxie asks confused as he turns to face Merlin. Merlin nods. "Oh, great! Well, we won't let you down."

I smile, happy about how excited Douxie got.

"You, mind the workshop." Merlin says to past Douxie. "You, gather up Excalibur." He orders my husband. "We ride." With that Merlin exits his tower.

"Sounds like a quest!" Steve cheers.

We board the ship and ride along the ocean below dark grey clouds.

Claire and Douxie talk while leaning on the railing.

"Do you think Merlin's plan will work?" Claire asks while putting her book on the railing.

"I messed up the timelines. We've run out of options, and my choices haven't exactly worked out lately. We can't make any more mistakes." Douxie says.

I stand next to him with Steve and take my husband's hand.

"Don't worry. I know we can do this. You're an amazingly incredible wizard Douxie so don't talk so down about yourself." I say while glaring at him.

Douxie chuckles "you're so cute when you try to be intimidating."

I feel heat rise to my cheeks and whine "stop it, I'm being serious here so listen to me, alright!"

Douxie nods while chuckling and raises my hand to his lips and kisses my knuckles which makes me blush even more.

We drive through a ship graveyard and the ship slows.

"We've arrived." Merlin announced.

"Huh. The Lady of the Lake is real! I thought she was just a myth." Claire says surprised.

"Oh, no, the lady is very much real." Douxie says.

"Though only Merlin's allowed to meet with her... till now." I add.

"Because her power is beyond your comprehension." Merlin explains and the ship stops once we reached the shore. We climb off board.

He continues to tell us about her while we climb up to the entrance.

"It was from her mystic waters I helped Arthur first retrieve Excalibur and unite the kingdom. Hisirdoux, the sword please."

Douxies reaches behind his back and holds it out to him with a smile while Steve cheers "Yeah! Quest, quest, quest, quest!"

"Watch the ship. I shall return shortly."

At that Douxies cute, excited smile turns into a frown and Steve abruptly stops chanting.

"What? We have to wait in the car?" Steve whines.

"But I thought we were doing this together." Douxie says disappointedly.

I glare at Merlin for making my husband finally feel appreciated by his master only for him to shatter his apprentice's hope.

"You should be thanking me. I got you out of Camelot. Arthur's unstable and the people are afraid." Merlin says as he walks towards Douxie.

"I thought you trusted me." Douxie says disappointed. My hands close into fists, my heart clenches and hurts by how sad my Douxie sounds.

Merlin sighs.

"I won't just sit here without making things right!" Douxie says, his voice growing loud.

"And I won't lose another apprentice!" Merlin shouts which make his voice echoe through the cave. Douxie flinches back. Merlin takes the sword from him and marches towards the entrance.

The two stone faces open and let Merlin in.

Douxie takes off running after him, but the door closes before he can make it through.

"Lake's closed." The big one says.

"None but the master wizard shall pass. No amateurs. That's you." The smaller one says rudely.

Douxie fires a strong spell at them, but the stones just laugh and make fun of him.

I growl and march up to them "how dare you?! How dare you be so rude?! Douxie is just as strong as a master wizard! He's powerful, kind and a hard-working apprentice!"

"And you are who, you silly girl?!" The smaller face asks, clearly disinterested and disgusted.

"His wife and I won't just let you act like this towards my husband!" I let out a roar, my eyes glowing a bright rosé as the pink color of my magic brightens the room and smash my fists at the stone faces. A bright pink glow goes like in powerful waves over their surface but-

They just laugh.

I turn and stomp away angrily.

I see Douxie and Claire stare at me, their eyes wide and mouths hanging open in shock.

"Wow!" Douxie says in awe and walks towards me. He places his hands on my waist and pulls me close.

"What are you- hmmpf!" My eyes widen in surprise as Douxie kisses me passionately.

I smile, returning the kiss happily. After a few seconds he pulls back and grins at my hardcore blushing face.

"Not that I don't like kissing you but what was that for?"

"I love you so much!" Douxie smiles lovingly and pulls me into a hug "that was amazing and thank you for always believing in me Mailin."

"Anything for you Douxie." I say and hug him back.

After we part Claire grins at me "that was a wicked powerful spell Mailin!"

"Thanks Claire, but I'm not even close to Douxies or Merlin's level." I explain.

"Still, you're great at magic love."

I smile "thank you Douxie."

We sit down and after a while we make a fire.

"Oh Mailin, I totally forgot to give you this!" Claire says, rummages through her dress pocket and pulls out a golden ring with a blue diamond.

I gasp, take it from her and slip it onto my ring finger "where did you find it? I thought I lost it forever!"

"After our battle against the green knight, it must've fallen of your finger while we fought against him." Claire explains "it's a beautiful ring, where did you get it?"

"Douxie made it for me as a wedding ring. I made the same one, only with a rosé diamond, for him." I explain.

Claire awes "that's so romantic!"

Douxie smiles at me while an adorable blush colored his cheeks red.

"Jeez, how long is Coach Wizard going to take?" Steve asks annoyed. "It's been forever!"

"What if the old man needs our help?" Archie asks worried.

Steve draws his sword and charges at the stones with a roar only to get stuck in the mouth of one.

After he gets out again, he tries different words that opens gates in movies "Open Sesame! Abracadabra! I'm begging you, man!"

The smaller stone face cackles.

"Hey, door dorks, open up!"

"Why don't you open up?" The bigger stone face scoffs.

"Maybe I will!" Steve shouts and then talks in a softer tone about his fear of not being a good knight.

Meanwhile Claire looks at her book again.

"Merlin doesn't know shadow magic!" Douxie realizes and grins. He gets up and skids to a stop in front of Claire while I watch.

"Claire! You could make a shadow portal and slip us right through!" Douxie says excitedly and levitates the book to himself and opens it.

"I don't know, Douxie." Claire says skeptically and turns away from him "I don't have my shadow staff."

"I've seen you do magic without it." Douxie replies.

"But Merlin said-"

"Merlin's Not here."

"I don't wanna become her!" Claire shouts and I flinch, realizing who she's talking about.

She sighs and sits down on the log in front of the fire.

Douxie turns to me, and I mouth at him "talk to her." while motioning with my hand at Claire.

Douxie sighs and sits down next to her.

"What if the darkness takes over, like Morgana?" Claire asks.

"Claire, look, I know you're scared, but you're not her. You can make the magic your own." Douxie says and Claire looks at him hopefully.

Douxie smiles and nods "I never had the gift for shadowmancy, but you do. You can do great and wondrous things. I've seen it."

Claire sighs and stands up "okay, Douxie, I'll try. But I need you to walk me through the spell book, teach." Claire takes the book I hand her with a smile. "I don't speak Wizard-ese."

"You want me to teach?" Douxie asks skeptically "I'm not even a good student." He says while rubbing his neck.

"You got that right!" The stone faces shout.

"Quit it!" Claire and I shout back angrily.

"Who asked you, knobhead?" Archie asks annoyed.

Douxie chuckles and gets up. Claire and Douxie position themselves in front of the doors and Douxie flips open the book with his magic.

Claire looks ahead determined and I cheer from the side "you got this guys!"
