《Wizards - Douxie x OC 1 (Complete)》Chapter 16: figuring out what to do

At the end of the hallway another door opens, and we enter a room with a big forest like wallpaper.
"You guys should be safe here. I have to go back." Zoey says, steps up to close to Douxie, to which I squint at.
I'm not jealous, not at all.
Zoey warns him not to break anything, glares at me and leaves, closing the door behind her.
------------------------------------------------
"Anything in here that can stop some ancient evil wizards?" Toby asks. "It'll be nice to have a moment to catch our breath."
"If the Order has their way, we won't be breathing at all. Nari, tell them what we're up against."
"Since the beginning, the Order has always sought to protect the balance of magic and mortal, no matter the cost. But our actions only brought pain." Nari explains sadly.
"I've spent a millennium keeping their horrors at bay. But it wasn't enough." Merlin says.
"Bellroc and Skrael believe humanity is lost, beyond correction." Nari walks towards the forest wallpaper and as she touches it green magic butterflies fly out of it. "Now they wish to end it all. They search for the Genesis seals."
"What are the seals?" Claire asks.
"Cute but deadly sea mammals, duh." Steve answers.
Douxie chuckles "You wish. It's the oldest tale in the wizards' books. Primal seals that contain the very essence of magic."
"If the seals are broken then raw, uncontrollable magic shall rise upon the world, wiping it like a flood." Merlin explains.
Krel groans annoyed "Come on! Destroying the world? Again?!"
"Ugh, can't these bad guys just remodel a continent or do something nice for once?" Toby asks.
"All of the Arcane Order must be present to open the Seals. That is why I fled." Nari says.

"I've hidden the Seals away, but we must keep Bellroc and Skrael away from them and Nari, or it is the end of all things." Merlin says.
"But if they're after her, why do they need Jim?" Claire asks.
Krel opens three laptops and starts searching for Jim.
"We must search for the source of master Jim's corruption. Try Rasputin Theurgy." Blinky tells him.
"Nothing." Krel answers. "Let me see that." Blinky looks at the laptop. "Curse you, auto-correct!"
Meanwhile Claire and Merlin are arguing.
"I empathize, Miss Claire, but we cannot go back to save him."
"Come on, this is our friend we're talking about! Your Trollhunter! You want us to just forget about him? No way!" Claire shouts angrily.
"Surely there's something that we can do-" Douxie tries to reason but Merlin cuts him off.
"The risk is too great for a rescue!"
Douxie facepalms and groans exhaustedly.
"We must keep Nari safe from the Order. The fate of existence is at stake!"
"This is why nobody likes you, dude!" Toby piped in.
"I care not for your likes. James Lake is corrupted, gone! There is no bringing him back!" Merlin says.
"Or you're just too stubborn to try!" Claire shouts angrily.
"Please, you both have solid points." Douxie says, growing annoyed by their banter.
I sigh and shake my head while sitting next to Nari.
"My presence causes such discord. I have put you all in danger." She says sadly.
I smile comfortingly and put my hand on her shoulder "don't worry Nari. They're usually like this."
Steve kneels down next to us "No worries, veggie lady. You are under protection of the Knights of Arcadia, which is only me, currently."

"I will not jeopardize the mortal plane for one Troll!" Merlin yells angrily.
"It's what he'd do for us." Claire says.
"And look where that got him!"
"What?!" Claire asks and the tech around us spikes with her magic. "Come on, back me up, here! Anybody? Archie?"
"Don't look at me. Cats don't have the right to vote. And neither do dragons."
"Wait a tick." Douxie says as he raises his head from where he placed in on his arms "I know a way we can rescue Jim without risking the world."
"Is that so?" Merlin asks skeptically.
"How?" Claire asks curiously.
"And if it works, it will be quiet the little magic trick." Douxie says.
He explains the plan and we go on board the ship to fly towards the arcane order.
"I have concerns about this cockamamy plan if yours. We're headed right into the lion's den." Merlin says while steering.
"You gave me a staff because you trusted me, right? So, trust me."
"Very well. I stand by your decision... wizard."
"Everyone knows what they need to do. If we pull this off, we'll get Jim back." Douxie says and walks towards the front of the ship.
"Arcane Order! We're here to barter!" The Skulls lights shine on him.
"I've come to bargain." I couldn't help but whisper and giggled.
The skulls mouth opens.
"And that means come in." Douxie turns to us.
"Wait, we're flying into the bitey devil castle?" Steve asks while the ship stops at the ramp.
Merlin, Douxie, Steve, Nari, and I enter through the door and stand in front of Skrael and Bellroc.
"It's quiet, isn't it?" Douxie notices.
"Good evening, Skrael." Merlin says as Skrael appears.
"Surrendering already? I was hoping for a little more cat and mouse."
"You will be rewarded with a quick and painful death." Bellroc growls. The green knight jumps down in front of us and growls.
"The fight here will end poorly for all of us. We seek a truce." Merlin says.
"Go on, Hisirdoux." Merlin nods at my husband to continue.
"Good evening, doers of evil and ancient terrors. We have a proposal: a trade. One of yours for one of ours." Douxie points at Nari.
"Our missing third for your Troll mongrel?" Bellroc asks.
"You would give up your only advantage? What does this gain you?" Skrael asks suspiciously. The green knight steps closer.
"Yes, well, an excellent question, one that requires a long, thoughtful, time-consuming answer." Douxie says and explains. "And, finally, my friends and I returned back to the present." Douxie chuckles nervously. "My what a journey, eh, Nari?"
Nari sneezes.
"Nari, are you unwell?" Skrael asks.
"Uh, no, no, no, no, no. Nari's just a bit jet-lagged is all! It's a human phrase for, you know, traveling in jets and lagging a little. Pull it together, Nari!" He whispers to her.
Suddenly Nari coughs up a hairball and transforms back into Archie.
"I guess the me is out of the bag." Archie chuckles nervously.
"Oh, fuzz buckets." Douxie and I curse in unison.
