Dispatches From The Inter-Galactic is a series of loosely related satirical stories which take place in a galaxy full of various interstellar civilizations and numerous space faring species generally described as consentients. This series is set in a galaxy which take place in a similar but not entirely unlike the galaxy in which my series Up in Space takes place While there are numerous themes related to interstellar life, several of the stories directly relate to specific themes such as; The pan-galactic ramifications to the use of supersymetrical energy sources (often drained from intera-located alternate and pocket realities.) the use of which by most interstellar civilizations is steadily increasing the overall amount of Dark Matter. This is increasing the mass of the galaxy and results in the occasional rips in inter-dimensional space as well as an overall increase in supernova activity. It is also speeding up the approach of the galaxy in Andromeda, which is of concern to several long lived civilizations; The Morphoids, a race of shape-changing consentients who are capable of using the space lanes created by the use of supersymetrical sourced energy to spread throughout the galaxy. They are currently viewed as threat number one by many space-faring species; and Xeno and exo-sexuality, as many species try to figure out what sort of enjoyment they can have with many of the species they encounter in space (only some of which are carbon-based, or more rarely, humanoid in appearance). This also relates to the altering of species to make reproduction somewhat easier for those with rather complicated lifestyles. A major force in this area of pursuit is the galactic visiteering industry, which promotes the ‘uplifting’ of more primitive planet-bound near-consentients.

The story begins with the resilient, ex-military intelligence officer Alice Mitchell. She goes by Ally. Years after her father's death, she makes a name for herself after solving his cold case. She believed the police let her father’s homicide case turn cold and forgotten. That wasn’t acceptable to her… Ally started her own investigating business. Pouring all she had left from her father’s police pension; she was able to piece together what the police could not. Although Ally became popular within her community, she also made a lot of enemies. Especially with the local police. Many of them believed she overstepped her bounds by doing ‘their work’. When her private investigation business opened up, she couldn’t believe how many people wanted her help. Her business quickly became well known throughout the city of Freeside. One day an unlikely customer come to Ally’s office seeking help. An old childhood friend, Shanti Edwards, who was a profound celebrity status fashion designer. Born and raised in Freeside, she was the daughter of the well known adult club owner Douglas Edwards. Just recently, there was news of Douglas’ death stating it was an alleged suicide. The news made it to the national level, broadcasting all over the country. Shanti however says otherwise… She calms he was murdered and would never take his own life. Upset and stricken with grief, Shanti returns home and goes straight to see Ally. She wants to hire her to investigate her father’s death. Shanti wants Ally to prove an underground crime organization called the Syndicate killed Douglas Edwards. At first Ally is skeptical, however this assignment perked her curiosity. She wasn’t sure what to think about her childhood friend. Ally was willing to put her gut feelings aside to help her. Also she was always down for a good challenge. This challenge would be like no other before. This challenge would take her far down a rabbit hole she didn’t even see coming… This would be a matter of life or death for her and everyone around her.

With his friends and family wishing him to try something to deal with his problems, he finds himself venturing into the virtual realm of Neos Online. The very game that had been in the process of gathering players for its Beta. It would come to pass that not only would this game change him, but it would also be changed by him.
