Ava's pov
I heard Sam and Ryn laughing in the kitchen. As much as l like seeing Ryn happy with Sam, I also like Sam. I get up and walk toward the kitchen slowly and silently. I peek out of the hallway into the kitchen. What I saw nearly made me cry. Sam was kissing Ryn. I mean, I know I told her to kiss him next time, but I thought she'd chicken out. Since this is technically my fault, I can't do anything about it. I'll just have to accept it. They soon break their kiss and stare at each other. What am I gonna do?
Ryn's pov
I smile at Sam and he smiles back. He pulls his forehead on him and kisses my nose.
"Well, that was fun." Sam says. I laugh and throw back my head.
"You're funny." I say sarcastically. Sam's hands are still on my hip and I place my arms on his shoulders.
"I'm gonna go get Starbucks, you wanna come with?" I ask. Sam shakes his head.
"I better stay here with your mom." Sam states. Why was he worried about my mom? She's perfectly okay. I guess, it's just him being the nice person he his.
"Okay, I'll guess the last person I have to go to Starbucks with is Ava." I say. Sam nods.
"Guess so." Sam states. Damn, this is an awkward conversation. I go into the guest room the Ava stayed in and she was looking out the window.
"Hey." I say.
"Hey." Ava replies not taking her eyes off of outside.
"I thought we'd be the perfect family." She speaks as she rubs her left arm. I began to feel bad. She pictured the perfect family. A great and caring mother and father. And she ended with a dad who is a douche., but luckily she got a great mom.

"Not every family is perfect Ava." I explain. She turns around and leans on the window pane.
"I know that. But, it's like getting adopted and you think the parents are gonna be the best, and you get to escape your past." I curl my lips. The more she said, the more I felt bad for her.
"What past were you trying to escape? Aunt Helena is the aunt you could ever ask for." I uttered. But, it's true. Aunt Helena was like mom. Both wise and caring.
"Ryn, even though we're sisters, you don't know me. You don't know my past nor my future. And yes, Aunt Helena is the best aunt you could ask for. I was that one to screw up. So, here's a little warning, don't act like you know me." Ava's words offended me. I wasn't acting like I knew her. I just wanna get to know her.
"You're right. I don't know you. I don't know your past. And I can't predict your future. But there is one thing you can do. You can tell me. We can talk about it." I look into Ava's eyes. I can already see the pain. The last thing I wanted to do was bring back painful memories.
"But, if you don't feel comfortable talking about, I'm not gonna force you to say anything." I say as I walk and sit Indian style on her bed and pat a stop beside me.
"I don't really wanna talk about it, Ryn." I answers. I nod.
"I understand, but if you ever want to you can come to me." I imply. Ava gives me a little smile.
"What?" I ask giggling.
"You sound like a therapist. I don't have problems." Ava responds. I chuckle.

"I know, but I love making people feel better." Ava takes a deep breath and sits next to me on her bed.
"Okay, well in middle school this really cute guy moved to Virgina names Asher. Anyway, the first day that he moved to my school we talked. I was like one of his first friends there, so he talked me more than anyone. Then, I started to like him. In 7th grade, we started seeing each other outside of school, so our friendship grew stronger and I began to like him more. Finally In 8th grade, he kissed me and we dated. We called it young love, other people called it nonsense. Asher and I blocked out anyone who didn't support us, and one the them was Aunt Helena. I gave up all my time to see him and be with him. One night, he told me he loved me. I believed him. Two days later, I found him making out with another girl. I've never felt so much pain in my life. And you know whats funny, the he said he loved me, was also the day he told her he loved her. Even though he cheated on me, I still loved him. After a few weeks, I got a message from his mom saying that he got in a car accident and died. That's my lame sob story." She explained. Ava was in tears. I was in tears. Everyone has a sob story, just some people act like they don't have one.
"It's not a lame sob story. Listen, you'll find someone better than Asher. Every girl falls in love with a douche, then falls in the love with the healer. You just have to find the healer." I reply. Ava wipes her last tears that falls down her face.
"What if I've already found the healer?" Ava asked.
"Then, do something about it. It's like having enough money to get a One Direction ticket, but not doing anything about it." I explain. Ava gives a straight smile.
"One problem with that, I don't like One Direction." My. mouth. dropped.
"What?! How can you be my sister? Or even my twin?" I asked in a shocked voice. It got Ava to laugh. My life goal to make someone laugh after they tell their sob story...complete.
"Thanks Ryn for making me smile." Ava adds.
"It's my job." I say as hold up my arms.
"Are you still going to go to Starbucks?" Ava asked while getting up from the bed.
"How did you know I was going to Starbucks?"
"I just overheard you and Sam talking." Ava says. We both walk out of the room into the hallway.
"Okay then next time I have I conversation with Sam, I'm going outside." We walk into the living room and Sam was on the couch sleeping. He looked so cute. He made me laugh every time he snored. I stare at him smiling.
"Um, Ryn you ready?" Ava asked, making me look away from Sam.
"I'll meet you in the car." I say. Ava nods and heads to the car and I walk over to Sam.
"Hey Sammy, I'll be back in a little while. Bye Sam." I utter. I kiss his forehead and walk out the door. I hope this isn't a game. Because, I'm beginning to think you're my hero.

Blightbane
Miscellaneous Notes: - I want to see about making a crude map of Shroud to help readers. - I also want to get back to writing Coalescence updates. Schedule Notes: - None for now, updates when I can. [ Thank you for your patience and support as I improve my writing and storytelling abilities. I'm also using this story to better develop lore that extends far beyond it. ] Thanks to another exceptionally talented artist, Hiroeth, Blightbane now has an official cover! Vera was alone again. “You’re completely unprepared. Never before has sending one of you off made me feel quite so guilty.” Whenever she found herself in doubt, she would weigh her actions against the guiding principles of the one whom she revered. “When you don’t know the rules of the game, start making them up. When you are constrained by unfavorable conditions, inject a little chaos.” It was the supplementary message that concerned Vera the most. It was difficult to follow because it was intentionally vague and mired in subjectivity. “How can I enjoy myself when you look so tormented? Are we in danger?” Vera fell silent. An experiment is taking place on a planetary scale. Across the surface of the planet, a phenomenon referred to as "Blight" is spreading. Festering regions defended by fierce creatures called “blightbeasts” taint the surface, warping the land and proliferating unceasingly. Among the sentient creatures of the planet, it is the Blightbane Guild’s responsibility to stem the tide. They endeavor to cleanse the land in a struggle of attrition, but they are losing ground. A young man named Caim has been uprooted from his former life and transported to The Shrouded Theocracy, an isolationist nation with fanatical policies. He must struggle to survive with only an unfamiliar strain of magic to aid him. There is a secret to this magic. One he knows very little about. He intends to explore just what makes this magic special. On the far border of the theocracy, a mage scientist named Inis discovers a revolutionary new way to infuse strength from defeated blightbeasts. Using herself as a test subject, this process allows her to grasp magical concepts previously thought beyond her reach. Though she tries to document any side effects that arise, something escapes her awareness. She is playing with a dangerous force that will claim her most treasured asset if she isn't careful. Everyone and everything on the planet is a part of the experiment. The experiment is a lie.

Ira’s Faithful
[On Hiatus due to health reasons] Synopsis: Fate has plans for everyone. There are many paths one can walk and many nodes one can unlock. Yet all mortal souls only start with one node. This has been the case for many years and while there are some records of people with more than one first node, these are as rare as wings on snails, roses made of air, or ropes made of dragon-hair. Elise Anker has two first nodes. She doesn't know why and the only one that could answer is an angry voice in her head. She hears it rarely and the voice is as helpful as a sword is effective against a Leviathan. She strives to become a mage, a knight or maybe something else entirely. The future is uncertain and unless she finds out what her nodes mean, she will never know what she wants to become. But her nodes won't unlock and the angry voice tells her that she needs to find a worthy foe to kill. Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction.
