The guard got a slipper to the face and hit the wall as you land and get rid of the parachute before dropping down to your hands and knees. "That was scary... If it weren't for the lights I would've ended up in the forest..." You mutter.
"What happened to all that adrenaline?" Ace asks, landing beside you.
"It slipped when I almost missed the roof..." You admit. He pats your back with a chuckle.
"Come on ___, we're gonna need that crazy road demon again," He says softly. You look over at him and relax.
"Right... Road Demon..." You breathe, closing your eyes.
"Yosh! Lets go!" Luffy chimes. You straighten up and open your eyes.
"Did everyone land?" You ask, looking around.
"Dammit..." Nami sighs.
"What?" You inquire.
"It appears that Zoro-kun veered off course..." Robin comments. You sweatdrop and giggle a bit.
"Of course..." You chuckle.
"Should someone go look for that idiot?" Sanji asks. You and Luffy exchange a look.
"He'll be fine," You and Luffy say.
"Found the entry point," Usopp calls quietly. You go to the door with the others close behind.
"Usopp, if things get really bad, make sure you can escape," You tell him, putting a hand on his shoulder.
"I'll escape when my Death Buddy is safe," He replies. You smile and hug him.
"Thanks... Everyone ready? Once it starts, there will be no turning back," You tell them. They nod and you reach for the door knob. The door suddenly opens and you and the guard pause. Your fist flashes out and the guard goes back down the stairs. "Scared the hell out of me..." You mutter. Ace chuckles and pats your shoulder as you both go down stairs. The others follow suit.

*Fourth Floor*
You and your group briskly go down the halls. "Looks like their solitude floor... For the crazy ones," Sanji comments.
"Yeah... I wonder if I know anyone up here," You joke.
"Psssssst!!" Someone hisses from one of the doors. Curious, you and Luffy go to the door.
"No way, Cabbage? What the hell are you doing here?" You huff.
"It's Cavendish!" He corrects.
"That's what I said," You say calmly.
"No it wasn't! Hah.. Forget it, just get me out of here!" He tells you.
"You know eachother?" Luffy asks.
"Yeah, our gangs used to be kinda rivals since I liked to beat up the prissy.... Why should I help you?" You ask the blond. He scowls at you.
"Because I helped you during that bank robbery," He reminds you.
"Cabbage we both know you didn't mean to help us back then," You point out.
"My name is Cavendish!! And you still owe me!" He says in clear frustration.
"I don't know... I'm on a rescue mission, and I really don't want to put up with Haha if he comes out," You point out.
"Hakuba!" He groans. "And I promise-- wait... Why are YOU here?" He asks warily.
"Two very important people to me are going to be executed in... Three days, so I'm here to break them out," You explain. He pauses.
"Second thought, maybe I'll be better off in here..." He mutters looking down. He blinks and looks back at you. "How important are they?" He asks. You put a hand over your heart with a slight smile. He groans again. "Alright, let me out, I'll help you save them."
"Thanks Cabbage!" You chime, taking a few steps back so Nami can work the lock.

"Cavendish!" He snaps.
"Hey! Who the hell-" The guard is cut off by Luffy's fist stretching out and sending him flying.
"Nice," Ace comments, patting his brother's shoulder. Luffy grins at the praise.
"At this rate, we'll get those two back quickly," Robin muses.
"Done!" Nami says, opening the door.
"Awesome Nami!" You chuckle in amazement at how fast she unlocked it. She sticks out her tongue with a wink.
"Child's play," She tells you.
"Thank you," Cavendish says, stepping out.
"Alright, lets hurry before more guards pop up," You say, checking the mini map swiftly before running for the next entry point. They follow right behind you, knocking out any guards that appear.
"There's the shoot!" Killer points to the clothes shoot.
"Third floor here we come!" You breathe before diving and letting out a slight cry. Everyone jumps in after you, letting out surprised cries as they fly down the steep shoot.

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.
