《Their Shattered Angel》Hesitant warning

~Blake Knight~
Before the party started I exchanged a few words with Damon, who left earlier in the morning. He was on his way to meet the boss of the Burning Heath gang. The gang that is known to burn down anything and anyone, when they even dare to mess up just one bit, they would leave nothing left, just dust, dirt and ashes.
Our contract with them has been settled and in place for a while now, we were giving them the guns and weapons they needed to fight around the world, fight against people that shouldn't be alive in the slightest. Under their freezing cold surface, they are good, I know it. They hurt the people that mean harm to the innocent ones, they are like an invisible shield to them, even if it doesn't look like it. At least it was like this with the old leader. He got killed in a car crash and I believe the Italians mastered that plan. He has been the target of a lot a people for a while, but his hidden identity saved him a bit of time. He was hated by a lot of people, but I kinda understood him...
Elijah hates him too.
They are rivals after all, trying to rule the world, destroying each other on the way. That's how it works.
But trust me, my thoughts were all over the place, when I got a call from my brother Grey when the party was clearly over and everyone had left. The mother fucking Italian were surrounding our house. My first instinct was to ask for Lila.
"I don't fucking know where she is Blake ! This was not meant to happen... shit shit shit, I should have listened." Greg's voice grew silent at the end of his words, which left in a confused state.
"What are you talking about Grey ?!" I growled into the phone as I made my way out of my bedroom a gun in my hands, looking for Magnolia. "What the hell do you mean by I should have listened ?"
Silence.
"Greyson !" I pushed him further, eager to know what the hell he wasn't telling me.
"Fuck. I'll tell you later Blake, they are everywhere ! Find Mags. Ethan and I are already watching out, munitions on our reach. Just- just make sure she is safe." He finishes off, before cutting the call and that's when gun shots ring through the silence that was peacefully hovering over the mansion.

"Magnolia !" I yelled her name over and over again, no response in return. Until I happened to run into Elijah, him holding my baby sister in his arms. I didn't even try to figure out what he was still doing here, my mind was so focused on my unconscious sister. Thoughts of her being hurt once again roared into my head, leaving me unable to think. Elijah wanted to leave and take her to a safe place to which I agreed at first, but the nauseous feeling in my stomach made me rethink it, as I stated slowly walking away from them, but as soon as I felt a tiny hand grab my wrist i knew it was her and I realised that she needed me right now. I couldn't leave her side, not again. We were in the middle of a fucking attack, unprepared, my mind still slightly foggy from the alcool, but I needed to stay by her side.
She didn't look good. Her eyes were half closed, as if she had no control over her body. I have seen things like this before, bastards drugging girl, to take advantage and lay their dirty hands on them. I prayed for dear God that this situation wasn't the one my Angel was in currently.
Multiple other gun shots and the shattering of windows alarm me and I am quick to react to instantly protect the body of my sister by putting my body in front, so I was facing the danger.
"GET DOWN !" A voice yells, I know damn well that it wasn't one of my brother, but either way I listened to it. I lifted my head up simultaneously with Elijah, when we heard the guy shoot back at the attackers. Shock took over me when I saw Gab, the fucking right hand of the Burning Heath gang standing in my mansion a freaking machine gun in his hands giving us worried looks. I even watched as his eyes grew even more worried when they traced down on Lila's unconscious body that was layed on the hard floor.
It took me a second too long to realise that Elijah was in fact not in good term with this guy or his gang, which made him stand on his feet a gun pointed at Gab. Fucking hell.

"Believe it or not, but we are here to help you." Gab casually states, not even fazed that a gun was being pointed towards him.
" We were aware of the attack and were able to kill the Italians that intruded themselves into your property Blake. We heard your back up didn't show up. The Burning Heath gang is here to help, like it was scripted in the contract." He finishes off and again I catch his eyes staring seconds too long on my Angel, which makes me automatically stand in front of her, so she was out of his sight. He must of realised that I didn't want him to be even close to her, because quickly his eyes found mine again.
"Elijah put your fucking gun down !" I growl at him, but he doesn't listen. I snatch the gun out of his hand in a swift movement, which catches him completely off guard and stuck in the back of my pocket. He should be more mature about the situation right now, because my sister was on the ground because of something I am still unaware about, and because Italians just tried to kill us. But that looked like the least of his problems right now.
I crouch down next to Magnolia and slowly lift her up into my arms and bring her close to my body, my arms wrapped safely around her.
"Is she okay ?" Gab questions and I shoot him a glare. No don't you fucking see that she is not okay ? I want to scream and yell at the people around me in this moment, because all I could see is that someone was trying to hurt her again. And somehow I am always failing to protect her.
"Bee ?" I hear a faint whisper coming from Magnolia's lips and I snap my head down to come across her tired gaze.
"Hey hey hey, it's okay. I am here." I assure her and I slowly graze a finger on her cheek picking up a single tear that left her eye.
"I don't feel well." She mutters and closes her eyes again, before snuggling closer to my body. I look to Elijah and see him staring down at me, while still giving dirty glares to Gab, and I ask him to get Ethan and Grey. The tension between the two of them was getting too suffocating and I knew that I wouldn't be able to contain my anger if something went in the slightest wrong direction. He seemed more than annoyed about this, but ended up listening to me, which left Gab, I and Magnolia.
When Elijah left the room, I started walking towards the stairs to bring Lila in her bed so she would be more comfortable, but a firm grip made me still in my steps.
"Blake... you need to know." Gab muttered lowly to me, which made something stir in my stomach as if there was something bad going on and Gab was trying to warn me. I frowned and uttered him to continue. "The attack tonight was planned in intention to steel the keys. Somethings are so much bigger than they seems, you don't understand..."
The words made me freeze. The keys. The Italians wanted the keys. They were after them, which meant nothing good, because if they somehow mastered to put their hands on them, the world you go down into flammes and Chaos. It couldn't happen.
"We are still figuring things out, but someone on the inside is helping them Blake. You can't trust anyone, especially not-" he is cut off by Elijah's words, which leaves me unaware of whom he is trying to warn me from.
"Found them."Elijah states and I turn my head towards him and catch a glimpse of an unknown expression on his face. It quickly disappears, replaced by an emotionless mask, he so often uses.
Seconds later, my twin and Grey appear and storm towards me, worry and panic painted on their faces, but somehow I couldn't get my stare of off Elijah. Something was up with him and I needed to figure out what it was.

Superior Era
How would you react if you found yourself unable to sleep? Not just for one day, or two days, or even three days, but a more permanent time span, like the rest of your life? That’s exactly the predicament Dario finds himself in and he’s thoroughly vexed by it. After all, what sort of sane person would want to miss out on sleep? A madman, that's who. Life is tough for an ostracized kid, but Dario quickly realizes that his wakeful nights are more blessing than curse, as there seems to be quite a few advantages in not having to sleep... Join Dario as he climbs the ranks of superhumans, uncovers hidden truths, travels the world, and discovers abilities he never before thought possible. This is a tale of superpowered/superhero-like individuals set in a dangerous fantasy world with hints of GameLit elements. Features MC with abilities deemed unique to the world and can disregard the need for sleep at no cost to himself. No Harems. Current Release Schedule: 3-5 chapters per week. But parenting? There was none. Yet a struggle nearly every member of the Races is not foreign to. I...must have lived under a rock. Across aeons no less. What a humbling revelation.
