《Their Shattered Angel》Flaming heart

"Greyson ! Has Elijah responded yet ?" I ask Greyson who is sitting in the back seat of the car I am currently racing. I send him a look through the mirror and watch as he grabs my phone to look if there are any news from Elijah.
I messaged him as soon as I got in contact with Will, saying that Will got in the warehouse and that they need to work together to get Magnolia out. We would be ready to help them out in the East exit of the warehouse, an exit that is the least guarded. We would try to enter the warehouse as soon as we can, but time is lacking and we need to get Magnolia out.
Damon send most of his men on the field to surround the Italian's nest and cage them. We have twice as many men as the Italians, if the information that Elijah got us is true. But we can never expect everything, especially when we are on enemy territory. Italian territory.
Now I am driving like a madmen through the woods with a deadly grip on the steering wheel, Damon in the passenger seat and Greyson in the back. Blake is hot on my heals driving his own racing car with the rest of the brothers and I have to admit he is better than what I though.
My mind is wrapped around the only girl that means anything and everything in this world, which only makes me drive faster to attain the destination. I normally never pray, because I have everything under control, but this... it's the worst situation that could have ever happened.
So I am praying... praying that she is okay... alive.
"The Devil's got Zaya in the mansion. She is safe." Greyson informs me, as he keeps searching things through my phone. "Still no news from Elijah"
"Shit" I curse under my breath. If he doesn't respond we are fucked. Will was my backup backup plan, my plan E, which means that he doesn't know the warehouse well enough and it could put him and my Angel in even more danger. I swear if she doesn't get out of here alive I might jump and strangle Damon first, before burning this fucked up world down.
I can't continue without her... fuck.
"What the fuck is in that volt anyway Damon ?" I suddenly burst out, the same time as I take a sharp turn left to go even deeper in the dark woods. Damon's eyes burn right in the side of my head, as I feel him tense.
"I can't discuss this with you."
"For fuck's sake Damon, it caused so many problems, why don't you just let it go ? Give it to the Italians ! It's not worth killing your own sister is it ?" I spit out my last sentence, and when he there is only silence coming for Damon's side I wish I would have never asked the question. He fucking would give her up..
"Elijah responded..." Greyson breaks the tension with the simple words. I release for a little bit the grip on the steering wheel and look in the mirror to see Greyson waiting for me to give him orders.
"Send him the plan I send Will. It's how he is going to get Magnolia out." And in a few seconds the message is send and I can only hope that Elijah doesn't screw things up for us.
"Now that it's done, get ready. We are two minutes away and I am pretty sure, the Italians won't greet us with open arms." I state, as a smirk starts to form on my lips, by the only thought of spilling blood of the bastards.

I bring a hand to my right ear, where a small micro- technological device is, so that I could keep contact with Blake at all times. I press the button to let my message go through him.
"Black ? You copy ?" I ask and wait for him to respond me which he doesn't only a second later.
"10/10."
"Good, we should arrive soon, stay behind me, get the guns ready, the end of this ride will not be all rainbows and poneys. Backup is already on the spot, so just focus on where we need to go; The East exit."
"Alright, let's get it done." Black responds once again, before the line goes dead and we both focus on the last few bits of road we have in front of us.
Seconds later, bullets are fired at us, as we try make our way through the woods and through the barrier of the Italian Man. Except we don't get very far. Neither does Blake.
Both our cars that are bulletproof, quickly had a target on their wheels, which left us completely stuck, as we both had flat tires.
Damon was already shooting with his sniper, but I knew that I wasn't enough if we wanted to get out of here quickly enough to go to the east side.
Luckily we had backup that was right behind us to distract the Italians for just enough time for us to get undercover and open fire.
One... two... three... Italian men fall down to the ground as we shoot. Chaos builds around us, but I manage to get a look at Blake that someone ended up in a barehand duel with three men.
I lift my gun and press on the trigger to fire the silver bullet that enters the skull of one of the men that was about to stab Blake in the back. Just in time.
That was enough for Blake to get ahold of the situation and crush the two others. His head turns to me after he is done, and he gives me a small nod to thank me, one which I gladly give back.
I stay by his side as we both advance to our main target, which is the east side.
I dodge a bullet that comes flying to my head just in time by rolling into the ground to shoot the person responsible for that bullet. One more down.
It has not even been five minutes since we arrived and countless people are already dead on both sides of the team.
Blake and I stay side by side, as we make our way to the East side on our feet, leaving the rest of the brothers and our team behind to let them fight their own battle. We cannot afford to lose time, especially now that we don't have the cars anymore.
With short signals, I tell Blake to move forward and he listens, which gives me just enough time to check my phone to see if there are any news of Elijah.
My heart skips a beat when I read the following sentences from Elijah that display on my phone. No...
E : The East side door cannot be opened from the inside, they are going to be locked inside.
E : Jace don't let them go through this way, it's suicidal !
E : Jace fucking reply !
E : JACE !
Fuck. I send them right into a trap. Will and Magnolia.
No... no... no ! NO !
I begin to sprint towards my destination, my only thought at the moment and I see Blake understand that something is wrong, when he notices my feared expression.

"What is it Reed ?" He spits out in short breaths and I can't take over myself to tell him my mistake.
"I need to go in." I state and watch as Blake's cold expression turns into confusion " Cover for me, it won't take long."
Before he can even reply, I run. I run towards the place that was suppose to get my Angel out, but now that it is not possible anymore I need to do it myself. I have too.
In the corner of my eye, I see the trap that is on the ground, covered in a lighter shade of green, which gives it out immediately if you search for it. A lock makes it impossible to open it from the inside, so I smash it into pieces with the back of my gun and pull the trap up, before gliding into the opening.
I land with two feet in a tight room, which leads me to multiple hallways, where a few light bulbs allow me to see where I need to go. Thanks to my photographic memory I manage to remember and situate myself in this bunker, so it takes me seconds, before I start running in the direction that will allow me to see my Angel again.
I just hope it's not too late and that they are okay.
The hallway is clear just like it was supposed to be for Magnolia and Will to get out safely, but what worries me right now is the other side of that fucking door that is supposedly locked, which means they have no way out if they are followed.
My heart is pumping the blood in my veins at such a fast rate that it might actually explode, but even if it would, I would still get Magnolia out of here along with Will.
In the far distance I hear faint voices. I sprint faster and faster, passing through those bloody white hallways that never seem to end, trying to get closer to the voices that suddenly turn into screams of agony. Magnolia's screams...
I push further, until I finally turn in the right corner that leads me to the last straight bit, where at the end I already see the figure of Magnolia slightly tumbling back as her back is facing me. Elijah is standing next to her gripping her firmly in his hands, as she is covered in blood. No... I am too late...
My heart shatters in a thousand of pieces, when I see the blood on Magnolia and the worried expression on Elijah's face, but now that I am closer I see a body on the ground. A limp body.
Will...
It's his blood. Everywhere.
I feel like a dagger was just shoved into my lungs and that The air in my lungs in taken away from me. All this time I was worried about Magnolia, and I didn't even really think about how all this was going to turn out for my best friend. The one and only that has been at my side since the beginning. He was the only one to approve my decision of faking my death and he even volunteered to go undercover to keep an eye on Magnolia.
By the looks on Elijah's face and the pool of blood under Will's body, I understand that he lost his battle.
The trembling figure of Magnolia, now only a meter away from me, makes me realise that I don't have time to mourn his death now. I need to get her out of here, have her in my arms, be sure she is breathing...
And for the first time in too long, I grab her waist and turn her figure to face me, and finally I am able to look at her beautiful stormy gray eyes again. Except when I do, it's not the ones I remember. They are now completely empty and dark, as they stare back at me with tears rolling out of them.
Her breathing hitches in her throat when she finally takes in my presence and she suddenly clings her hands at me, gripping me so hard, as if she was scared that was not really here.
"Jace.." she sobs into my chest and I softly caress her hair and bring her even closer to me, feeling her body weaken against mine.
"You are here !" She breaths out with a small chuckle, which makes me only tighten my grip around her. "You can save him ! I know you can...Will, he-he is going to make it out alive... he is strong...He is still alive... I know he is..." she mumbles against my chest, and I quickly look up to Elijah to see him shake his head from side to side, to only affirm what I was fearing. She is completely under shock.
She lift her head from my chest, just enough to turn her head to the side. "it-it's going to be okay Will... "
I look at her, unable to find the words to say that she is just imagining this. Will is gone, but she seems to see something else...
"Magnolia..." I breath out her name and stare intensely at her, grabbing her face gently to make her look up at me. Her stained cheeks and red puffy eyes, make my heart ache at the point that I can't even forgive myself to make her go through all of this.
I don't even recognise her anymore.
"What is going on with her ?" I ask Elijah behind me with a clenched jaw, before returning my gaze down to my shattered Angel who's face is now painted with confusion.
"She is under shock. We need to get her out Jace. I don't know what they did to her..." Elijah answers his voice worried and laced with pure concern. I clench my first and fight back the urge to beat him up right here. If it wasn't for him Magnolia would have never ended up here and Will would still be alive...
"Take Will's body. We need to get out." I order Elijah with a cold voice and scoop up Magnolia in my arms to lay her safely in arms, before I start to jog out of this Hell hole that only reeks of Death.
With one hand I quickly contact Blake to let him know that his sister is safe, and ask him to get his man a car ready at the east exit like it was planned. I hear him sight out a breath of relief, as if the world's weight was just lifting from his shoulders.
When I finally reach the trap, I climb it up with one hand, while clinging Magnolia's body against mine to make sure she is safe. The daylight hits us full in the face once we are up and the ringing of firing bullets makes my heart beat faster in my chest.
Just like I expected, Blake is standing only a few meters away and comes running towards us, but I put a hand up to him to stop him from advancing any closer to his baby sister.
I don't know how much more Magnolia can handle right now, but a brother covered in his enemies blood is probably not one of them right now. So I pull her closer to me, as she snuggles her head in the crook of my neck, not saying a single thing since we left the place I found her, which leaves me only more worried.
Blake's first clench on the side of his body, as I ask him to get the car started to leave and he gets ready to contradict me, but when his gaze shifts behind me, I watch his angered expression drop. I don't even have to turn around to understand that he just saw Will's limp body.
I push the thought in the back of my head and quickly advance to the black hummer and get inside in the gentlest way possible to not startle Magnolia even more.
Minutes later, we are on our way back to the mansion, my whole gang as well as Damon's men retreating, because we just got what we came for.
I could not be happier to have the one and only woman in my arms right now, but somehow it doesn't feel like it's over and that I am done. Maybe we lost a lot more than we thought we did today.
We maybe have Magnolia here, her body in my arms, but what the Italians took from her is maybe way more... the may have destroyed her soul completely by keeping her locked in there, doing god knows what...
I trace my fingers up and down Magnolia's back, as her sleeping body is resting on my lap. With hateful gaze I stare at each and every cut that displays on her body, which only throws oil in the flames that have been building up in my heart.
They will pay for what they did to her and to Will, and if it means killing every single person in their gang I wouldn't hesitate.
"Blake" I ask the only brother I knew that could help me to solve the mystery that has been dragging my mind into a pool of mind for the last days now. "What is in the vault ?"
Blake looks at me through the mirror of the car and I watch as his eyes slowly darken and his jaw clenches. " it's the not the fucking moment Jace" he grits out the words through his teeth, but I completely disagree. Our ennemis know what is in that vault and I need to find out so I know what we are fighting against.
I tare my gaze away from Blake and looks down at Magnolia who steers, before her grey eyes slowly flutter open to look at me.
Her lips slowly part and with a few words she turns my world upside down, like the first day I saw her in that parking lot.
"A deadly virus, to which I am the only cure to."
I am still alive guys...
I am an awful writer for leaving you hanging like this, but I promise I will make it up to you now that I have holidays !
So... Magnolia and Jace are reunited ! But not on the best conditions
Jace now knows what is that volt and his reaction his yet for me to write and for you to discover.

To Blunt The Sharpest Claw
The Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels are a series of New Fable genre novels that involve cats and dogs and high adventure and romance and espionage and food-fights and hotels and explosions and car chases. With large casts, exotic locations and an absurdity only possible in the absence of human characters, the Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels blend Wind in the Willows with James Bond, though with more cafes and fewer badgers. This submission is the third title in its Morigan Trilogy, beginning two-thirds of the way through the series' longest adventure yet. Here's a quick recount of what's happened so far: When Oscar Teabag-Dooven, a Velvet Paw of Asquith, is ordered to investigate how a mysterious poet, the Ar'dath-Irr, is able to travel instantaneously around the world, two very bad things happen. Firstly, he meets Lydia, an insane librarian who punches everyone in the face, and secondly, the Ar'dath-Irr reveals he is intent on taking over the world. Although this second thing might be considered worse than the first, Oscar feels differently following Lydia’s destruction of a cafe, a library and his face in one afternoon. In comparison, thwarting world domination just seems easier. Along with Binklemitre, a fellow Velvet Paw of Asquith, and Lydia, Oscar infiltrates the Ar’dath-Irr’s realm of dark poetry to discover the dog not only intends wrenching the world apart but has no intention of cleaning up afterwards. As a result, Oscar decides it’s all too hard and goes home to have a bath. After lots of arguing and the sort of food fight that posh restaurants were invented for, Lydia and Binklemitre convince him that they must stop the Ar’dath-Irr for several reasons, one of them quite serious. A vibrant cast of characters collide as Oscar, Lydia and Binklemitre battle the Ar’dath-Irr and his disciples in an adventure involving exploding cafés and appalling hotels, car chases and inadvertent surgery, dreadful poetry, lots of arguments and at least one temper-tantrum, all of which draw the three into dark and convoluted corners of a world they weren’t aware existed. Moreover, any chance of sitting down and discussing things over some buns disappears when Lydia punches the Ar’dath-Irr in the face. This results in her having a psychotic episode and Oscar getting run over by an ambulance. Although Binklemitre suffers neither, he witnesses both, which is almost as dreadful, though not nearly so messy. An enormous battle ensues, followed by a dinner party and then everything explodes.
