《Their Shattered Angel》Bomb dropping

The car stops to a hold in front of the mansion, so in the most gentle way possible I position her in my arms, ready to lift her up. The car door swings open, revealing Blake that has a dark look on his face when he sees the state his sister is in, especially now that he doesn't have the pressure of dodging bullets.
He extends his arms for me to give him his sister, but I only press her against me even more, unable to let her go again. Blake clenched his jaw as he is about to object, but Leo appears behind him and indicates me to get inside immediately. I follow behind Leo to see him looking back at me with a pale face, his eyes lingering on his sister with a worried look.
I move my gaze towards the girl in my arms and see her wince in pain at each foot that hits the concret floor of the mansion. I just wish I could take all that pain away, give it to me I don't care. Just not her.
I try giving her a reassuring smile, only to get a look void of any emotions back. It's like her soul is just empty, broken, which scares me even more to be honest.
I traverse the living room , behind Leo and I notice how the rest of the brothers follow close behind, wanting to get informations on her state. At least she knows that she is not alone anymore and that we will stay by her side as long as she needs us to.
"Lay her down here." Leo indicates, as we enter a room specialised for medical treatment, and he gestures for the rest of his brothers to stay outside off the room, which blows up in a fit of complaints. It's cut short when he closes the door on their noses. I focus on Magnolia and lay her down on the soft bed as gently as possible and I almost want to hurt myself , when I notice how she jumps at the single contact of the bed. " You should leave too Jace, it's not a good idea for you to stay here."
"I don't fucking care Leo, I can't leave her again. I already made that mistake once and I promise you it won't happen again." I lift my head up to glare at Leo, who only looks at me back with the same dreadful stare.
"It's not something that needs to be discussed Reed. Get. The. Fuck. Out." His tone is ice cold, trying to get me to fold, but I won't. It's useless. I stand up and face him, standing slightly taller than him.
"I am going to go out of this room, not for me, not for you, but for her. I will stay right behind that door and if I hear one single complaint from her, I will burst through that door with not a single second of hesitation, do you understand me ?" I state firmly and turn around to get out of the room, but as I am about to do so, a fragile tinny hand wraps itself around my wrist, which makes me freeze in place.
I turn my head around to see the pale face of Magnolia, her eyes begging me to stay close to her, and she doesn't even have to say a word that I am by her side again, slowly caressing her air out of the face. I whisper smoothing words to her, letting her know that I won't leave her and that seems to relax her just a little bit. Leo doesn't reply anything as I take a seat next to her bed and he starts to do his analysis on her.

Two hours pass in that room, until Leo finally finishes his analysis. We both head out of the room after she fell asleep, so Leo could announce the multiple damages that were inflicted to her body. All the brothers were waiting in the living room and they all shoot up from their seats when they see us coming.
"How is she ?" Greyson asks, and I almost want to laugh at his face for that rhetorical question, but I don't, because I know what he really means will that question. How bad is it ?
Leo looks down at the files in his hands and shakes his head in desperation.
"She has fractured ribs, an huge gash in her lower stomach, which got infected and needs treatment for the next couple of weeks, her left ankle got twisted, multiples hematomas all over her body. She is so fragile, because of the lack of food they gave her and her immune system is at its lowest as it tried to keep her on her feet for too long." He pauses to look past Ethan who just happened to throw a vase on the floor, his nerves all over the place, which is something I barely see with him.
The list goes on and on, but I can't listen to it anymore. It's too much. We all failed to make sure she was going to be safe, and it seems like bringing her to her brothers only made everything so much worse. All because she plays some role in that virus that seems to be contained in the vault. Even then I don't even know if that information is true and if I can rely on it, because the eleven words Magnolia said once she got out of that prison aren't cutting it. Just now I realise that these were nearly the only words she managed to get out since I saw her...
I wait for the Knight brothers to take every single damage done to her body into their consciousness, before I bring up the next problem that we need to solve to protect my Angel. Our Angel.
Just as I am about to ask about it, an agonising scream echoes through the hallways of the mansion, and I feel my heart drop to the ground. All of us knows damn well who that is, and we all start running towards the room Magnolia was resting just minutes ago. I am one of the last ones to reach the door of her room, because I was the furthest away from the room, but that doesn't stop me from pushing my way through the brothers to see with my own eyes what I dread to see.
I nearly sight out of relief, when I see her laying alone her room, with no other enemy in the room with her. Her cheeks are socked in her own tears, which means she probably had a nightmare. Blake tries to approach her the first, but she flinches violently, which makes him back up immediately, keeping his hands in the air so she could see them. Her breathing is so short and she barely manages to get the air inside her lungs, which makes me understand that she is having a panic attack. She used to have them often back then too, and I always managed to make her calm down by using the same method each and every time.
"Magnolia listen to my voice..." I softy say to gain a little of her attention, which works as her puffy red eyes look up to me. "Listen to the world around you angel, you need to calm down" I repeat the words I so often already told her and when I do say them, it's as if, for only just a second, I see a flash of hope go through the grey eyes of Magnolia. She remembers...

I slowly approach her and extend my hand to take her hand in mine, and luckily she doesn't flinch or even pull her hand away.
"Tell me what you see... what you hear... what you feel... and what you smell." I instruct her to give out an element for each and one of the four senses, which she does seconds later. Her breathing slowed down and the tears stopped flowing down her cheeks, so I squeeze her hand reassuringly to let her know that I am proud of her.
"I-I am the only cure for t-the virus... I am going t-to die..." she speaks those words so randomly and suddenly that I am taken back by the brutality of their sense. " It's going to kill everyone... I am the only one who can stop it..." she whispers so lowly that you can almost not hear it, but when I see how Ethan and Leo suddenly looks at each other, as if they knew something much bigger about that, I realise that she may not lie so far away from the truth. The only weird thing about it is, that Damon, Blake and Greyson all seem to think that she is going crazy. Just not Leo and Ethan. They know something the others don't and I need to figure out what it is...
"You are going to be okay, just get some rest for now Angel. We are going to take care of it." I say and look at the brothers to indicate them to get out of the room, which they all do, except Leo who stays behind. He moves towards a drawer and takes out a few things, before going on the other side of Magnolia.
"I am going to give you some sedative to help you sleep, is that okay with you ?" he asks her and I watch her hesitate, before slowly nodding her head up and down. "This will help you sleep"
A minute later, she is once again asleep, in her bed, and I can't help myself but to stare at her exhausted face. Leo and I head out of the room to join the other brothers that are once again in the living room.
"We should all get some rest for now. Go get some some sleep and take a shower there are enough rooms for all of you." Damon suggest, which we all agree to, so we all separate to go our own way. On the way out of the living room, the eldest grabs my shoulder for a second which makes me halt in my steps.
"I am deeply sorry for William, he did so much for my sister and if I could do anything to help his family or you please let me know." Damon sincerely says, but the words only have the effect of bringing out the inevitable. My throat is so dry that I don't even have the force to say anything back, as I only give him a nod, before pushing passed him to go in a room. After all that happened, I am pretty sure I will not find any sleep tonight.
After a ice cold shower, I head to the kitchen to grab some water and on the way back to my room, I hear some faint voices that seem to be in an argument. I follow the sound of the voices, making my way there quietly, only to come face to face to a door, where some light shines from the under it.
Without really thinking it through, I open the door only to reveal two of the brothers in company with hundreds of files spread across the room.
"What the hell is going on " I mutter as I watch Leo and Ethan shot their heads up towards me once they notice my presence. With the looks on their faces, I comprehend that I probably am not supposed to be here, but I couldn't care less, especially if this concerns Magnolia.
"You shouldn't be here Reed." Ethan firmly states and I scoff, not giving a damn about what he thinks. I grab a random piece of paper where a bunch of information on Magnolia and her, what seems like her blood test are.
Maybe Magnolia was in fact right about her being the cure to this deadly virus and these two brothers know it. Otherwise why would the smartest of them all and the doctor of the family be woking together ?
"You better give me a god damn good explanation why you are analysing Magnolia's blood behind the back of the others and tell me that this is not what I think it is." I coldly spit out looking at the brothers that I know are hiding some things from me. From all of us.
I see them exchange looks, before Ethan signals me to take a seat at the coffee table in the room and I do so, without keeping my eyes off of them.
"Magnolia was right." Ethan states and I am not sure if he is talking about the same as me, so I urge him to continue. "She was right about being the only cure about the deadly virus in that vault."
Fucking hell.
"How do you know that and how can you be so sure of it ?" I ask, still not wanting to truly believe it until I have proof of it.
"The virus was created years ago, at the time where Magnolia was born, by a small gang in the east of Italy. They happened to recruit multiple scientist to create a deadly virus and make it a weapon to the world. Our parents figured it out and managed to get control on this project, but the virus was already created and there was no going back. That's why it's in the vault, hidden from the outside world." Ethan explains, but I still don't get why it involves Magnolia so much.
"But what links it to Magnolia ?" I ask confused, as I run a hadn't through my damp air.
"She happened to create the cells to destroy this virus when she was only a kid. I never got to understand how, but it's the only information I got from my parents before they died. I am the only one who knew about it, so I had to tell Leo so together we could create a cure. We have been working on it, since she came back and the progress we are making is excellent. We already created a substance that can destroy it, without spreading it further than the vault."
"So if I understand it right, you have found a way to eliminate the virus once and for all, but you still haven't made it happen ?"
"Right, the thing is not everyone can just go in there and spread the substance to kill the virus, otherwise as soon as they would leave the vault they would take the virus that is in their immune system and contaminate the whole world within days." Leo continues and I start to understand where this is going, but I can only dread to hear that I am right.
"Meaning only Magnolia can enter the vault, destroy the virus without taking the virus with her. That's why the Italians took her, they wanting to make their own cure and release the virus." I finish off their explanation, feeling as if a huge bomb has just dropped in my head. I know there is more to it, otherwise they would have already done it, but they haven't...
"Tell me where the problem is now." I instruct the brothers, who both seem to want to avoid my gaze now.
"If Magnolia goes in there, we don't know if she will make it out alive, knowing that her cells immune to the virus were created over a decade ago."
They drop the bomb, leaving behind a silence and a big hole in my heart, because for once I don't know what to do...
A/N : Here goes an other chapter my loves.
A big step in this story once again. Looks like Magnolia's life isn't getting any easier, but only worse. I am a horrible writer for doing that to her.
What will they decide to do ? Take the risk to put her in the vault, which might kill her ? or fight off every single motherfucker who wants to open the vault ?
By the way do you like the template I made for Jace Reed at the beginning of the chapter ?
