Leading the way, Ezra carefully walked slowly in the stairs, looking for a zombie that might roam along the way. Although he was still scared by their looks, he wouldn't panic that much when he face one compared before. His strength and speed was now twice than it is when he managed to kill a zombie, so killing one shouldn't be a problem anymore. What he was looking for was how would he test his ability without anyone noticing. He was treated as a leader due to his courage earlier so making a big moves behind them would be hard.

Aside from several people who were really excited for several reasons, there's still a few someone who were shaking due to nervousness. Ezra paid attention to them because they might drag the whole group of survivors down when they was left aside. Even though everyone is holding a metal bars that was taken in the rooftop, they weren't like him who became stronger and already has a little experience on how a zombie move.

'If a typical zombie is as slow as the one that I faced earlier, then facing two at a time wouldn't be a problem, facing three would gave me a hard time because of their tough skin but when i manage to kill one then finishing the rest would be easy. And lastly, facing four or above, I won't have any choice but to run or else I'll die.'

*Growl*

They didn't reach far enough yet when they heard a low sound of growl. The students tense up immediately and their grips of the metal bars that they were holding instantly tighten. Ezra was also startled a bit but instantly recovered and furrowed his eyebrows in seriousness.

'It should be that Takeshi guy that was dragged back earlier'

Holding his phone using his left hand to light up the way, he readied his weapon at his right hand in case it suddenly appear with him unprepared. Suddenly, he found the source of the growl, the zombie was standing at a corner of the stairs with its head facing the wall.

"It is Takeshi!"

Just then a voice was heard between the crowds but was instantly silenced by Qingyue to avoid unnecessary trouble.

Ezra signalled everyone to stop walking while he sneakily walked towards it. When he is about 2 steps near it, he raised his right hand and was about to strike it in its head when it suddenly turns around towards him and attempted to jump.

Ezra didn't panic even at this point, he aimed effortlessly the metal bar at its temple and stab it with half of his strength. The outcome was just like he guessed, it just halt with a bit of resistance for a moment then it went through its brain.

The zombie lost its life instantly without being able to cause trouble much to Ezra's relief. Because a single attack was enough, the blood didn't splatter in his direction and was able to maintain his cleanliness this time. Although he would be cleaned, the thought of something sticky that would be in contact with your skin still isn't something good so preventing it to happen would be better.

Ezra slowly put down the zombie to avoid making such loud noises when it slide all the way down the stairs, even now, he is still unaware if the zombies were sensitive to sounds and he wasn't aware of the numbers of the zombies at the third floor so he decided to be more careful.

Just like what happened when he killed a zombie earlier, a tiny ball of light emerged from its body and went towards him. Having experience on what would happen, Ezra decided to close his eyes to feel what would be the changes to his body.

When it entered, a thought of having his strength and speed was instilled into his brains again. He also found that his stamina started to grow at this point and there is still something unknown in his body that starts to accumulate. Knowing that it won't harm him but instead was beneficial because of its mysteriousness he decided to ignore it for now because if he killed more and more zombies, its use would be revealed to him later on.

'Too bad, there isn't any knowledge regarding my ability. So awakening one would just be a chance? Or is there a something that should be fulfilled first before I was enlightened again?'

Because he is still clean and full, the purification effects of the light wasn't noticed by a large margin. Still, the students behind Ezra was eager to know if he became stronger again so they came near him.

"Okay! Okay! Stop making noises. I became stronger again when that tiny ball of light or should we just call it orb because it looks like it entered me. It means the strength was stackable so all of you better embrace yourselves and kill."

"Yeah right!"

"Those bastards would be killed! HAHAHAHA"

"I am going to become a superman this way!"

"Superman? Hahahahahha! That would be possible!"

The imagination of his schoolmates and professors once again reach the peak to the point that it makes Ezra hopeless.

'They even ignored the fact that they might know who they would kill later and even ignored that I killed someone whom they knew earlier huh? It is good that they became positive, but still, would they be able to conquer their fears later when they face one? I tried my best now to gave them something to hold and goal into, but if the problem was still themselves, then I don't have any choice but to abandon them.'

Ezra thought of this and his eyes flashed a bit of coldness. He wasn't a saint to try and help everyone when even he would be in a dangerous position once a wave appears.

He just turned his back when a finger poked his cheeks, without him noticing two beautiful figures appeared at his side. The two goddess of their class which were in contrast with each other, the cold princess Qingyue, and the blazing demoness Alice.

"Hey, Ezy the leader! Hehe~~ How about you left the lead to those courageous ones and protect those who were behind and was afraid like me, yours truly instead?"

"She is right Ezra, Those who were behind were the women who is afraid and two middle-aged professors who were shaking in fright even now. It would be better to let those guys take the front to let them earn experience while you ensure the back. You're the only one who could assist them in learning how to fight when a zombie appears."

With Alice's suggestion and Qingyue's persuasion, Ezra nodded and agreed to it. Not because he wants to, but he needs to. He noticed already how dangerous it is if a corner of the group suddenly collapsed. Aside from letting zombies past them and attacks those who were on the other side, they would also turn into zombie once they die causing trouble twice as much.

"Let's do thag then, By the way Alice you don't look like you are scared to include yourself so stop causing trouble okay?"

"Teheee~~ Ooo-kaaaaaay!"

Alice even saluted with her body straight as a respond to Ezra, causing them to have a different reaction. Ezra lightly chuckle, Qingyue looked at her weirdly and was wondering on where in the universe did she get her cheerfulness for it to not be removed even in this situation, and a lot of guys who swallowed their saliva and were looking at her chest which were emphasized when she stood straight.

Ezra then proceeded to face everyone and told them what he is planning to do.

"From now on, I'll be taking the back to protect those who were having a hard time to adjust to this. Thos who were courageous enough would take the front. Don't court death if you think you still can't handle a zombie then form a team then kill it. I don't know if the orb would be splitted depending on your damage but if it doesn't help others to take turns and kill. Once everyone managed to kill a zombie then facing 2 wouldn't be a problem anymore allowing us to spread our searching for even further. Remember, the zombie is our only hope to survive so if you still can't do it then might as well die now and not cause anyone trouble."

"I'll do it! I'll go alone in the front!"

"Yeah me too! I could handle one!"

"Who wants team up with me?"

"I am also looking for a team! I think I can't handle it alone"

Ezra nodded when he found that majority of them instantly know what to do, those who were courageous proceeded at the front while behind them were a team of two and three. The thing that shocked him was Qingyue was also alone in the very middle of the front liners and was intending to face a zombie alone. Ezra let them be and proceeded to move towards the back together with Alice much to his surprise. When he reached the back he was greeted with their smiles and sigh of relief, they instantly became assured that it was him who were the strongest for now who will protect them and not somebody else. His position in their hearts instantly became higher.

"It is admirable right Ezra. How foolish they were to become so ambitious to the point of risking their lives just to earn some strength. And how those who were weak instantly entrust their lives to the strong in order to survive."

Ezra was bewildered by her words that seems so distant, like she really experienced it herself, he forgot how to respond and foolishly stared at her.

"Well, don't mind me, Hehe, As per our agreement, you won't ask me anything until I allowed you to do."

Hering her words who decided to blocked his way in asking, he decided to let her go and just wait for the right time.
