5. SOLAM TOWN
CREEPER MADNESS
Carriage was moving.
Three of them were siting at the backside, Paul was holding reins.
“Oh, naughty boy dreaming of me in night”, Racheal said as she was looking at Nick dark eyes, which was clearly saying sleeplessness.
“Shut up”, as he says, while he moved his head towards Bell.
She turned her face to the side ways to avoid eye contact.
“hmm, Do you have a fever”, Racheal asked her. As Bell ears were fully turned red. Which was complementing her blue pearl ear ring.
“No it’s just the lack of sleep yes its just that”,
“So what's the plan”, Nick asked
“oh, I forgot to tell you the...
She was interrupted.
“We reached”, Paul said in a heavy voice.
As the first light can be seen as if it was the tunnel exit.
It was a simple town, what most attractive part was that all houses are green, they were like as if pothos plant covered them all.
(Pothos is a creeper plant which climbs like a rope)
Sun still was shinning . he supposed it was too bright
“so can anyone explain this”, asked by Nick in a surprise manner.
“I would be glad to know that too, basically we are here to just find that". Racheal said while moving down from his carriage.
Bell put her bow in one of her shoulder and hanged her arrows on other side, it was surprising as people now a days use mana arrow. while paul picks up his long sword, Nick also puts greyish cloak on and then put his blue claymore on his back.
As soon as He stepped down from the carriage, a faint glimpse of his memory kicks in.
………………………………..
“hey what are you doing”, a lady in black reached out her hands.
Her sound was like a chime of a bell.
Surprised and bewildered by the lavishing crowd, fallen into the street was reached by her helping hand.
Afraid to touch with a sudden rage, he waved his hand countering her good motive and stands into his feet.
While she falls as the black cover of her face slides revealing a complete opposite of what she is wearing. A girl in his 20s
A smile was there on her fair face even though she had fallen into the rugged tactile pave.
“It hurts”, a faint bell like chime voice.
As he passes away ignoring it all.

…………………………….
Bell tapped his shoulder from side
“Hey why are you crying”, A soft bell chime voice.
“EVA”, looking sideway in surprise.
“Huh”, Bell was confused as to what did he said.
“oh nothing just got pollen into my eyes”, replying wiping his drench face.
“ All fine now. We are moving. Show us the direction paul”. Racheal said in a cheerful manner.
Paul leaded them. till they got into a small alley. what was surprising was none of the town people were encountered.
Paul asked all to wait as he approaches the door of a small broken hut with veins of the creepers coming inside of the house.
(Calming music)
Paul started playing his square flute in a way to express his sadness.
A door was opened, a voice came through.
“please enter”, waving her hands towards inside she closed the door immediately as soon as they entered.
“so is she your wife”, bell asked.
.
.
Walking towards the stair moving his eyelids slowly towards downward as a never ending deep breath, he sighs in a remorse.
“She is dead”, as the silence shrouded once again, there lips were sealed but there feet were moving.
As the door opens to the second floor only to show, what lies into the deepest secret of the town.
She was sleeping slightly tilted with greenish hair as half of her body was turned into woods with props root slithering out twistingly from her stomach and hands which are turned into wood.
She was very thin as thin as skeleton. Her face was deformed with veins structure from inside. It looked like one delicate touch will wither her faraway. Roots were stretching outside the window as it turn brown to green.
Clinging from one house to another it reached itself at the security office of inspector.
“there are many more”, a pained voice by Paul.
“what do you mean”, Nick turned towards Paul.
“she is just one of the victim, that monster first rape them then put his seeds into there womb which then germinate covering her body.”
Racheal replied as Paul was not able to utter a single word and further explain him how it’s work.
The veins reached out to security office was connected to the inspector. He is a monster who absorb the mana force making it more powerful. As Paul's daughter was first victim, he was able to cut his veins off her and carried her into the house but it soon started to grow from her insides and connected to office ones again.

“Why don’t you cut the veins again,” Bell asked looking at paul.
“Its not easy her life depends on it, though her mana had been sucked, veins are the only one supporting her life.” Paul said in a grim tone.
He further told he tried to cut once again but it was as hard as steel.
“So Nick can you kill him,” Paul asked.
“ I am not here to kill, I am just hired to be a bodyguard,” turning his face away from the woods child.
“Why, why not aren’t you here to kill him,” Paul asked shatteringly.
“Now calm down for a sec,” Racheal said.
“ you know the contract Nick,” Racheal said in sarcastic way.
He moved towards her.
Glared into her eyes. She moved backwards.
Pinning her. He banged his right hand towards the wall.
Sealing on of her paths.
“Now listen, I don’t care what happens to you because of your shitty pile of paper. She is better be dead than living in a hell like that.”
Sound of a punch.
Paul moved towards him grabbed his shoulder cloth and punched him.
Nick turned his face away, not looking at Paul eyes.
“What is cavalry doing. isn’t they are the incharge of inspectors,” Bell asked in sad voice.
“solam village comes under central church judiciary, inspectors are of namesake,” Racheal replied.
As inspectors are only there to spy the central pope but because of great dark incident (see prologue chapter)pope is dead, so now it is just an abandon town.
There are news as it is going to come under Western church judiciary but it is still not decided.
“I thought you are different, fine don’t kill him but protect me when time demands, we are taking him head on.” Racheal said.
WESTERN CHURCH (side room)
Screaming in pain
A woman screamed.
A broad long spear enter through her butthole.
With every increase in broadness
Sound increases.
it stretches and rips her apart.
Gutting through her large intestine than the small one, piercing through her guts, puncturing through her lungs,
Blood poured from her hole.
As it still passes through her esophagus.
Her head tilted.
Gouging out her eyes.
“So now you see, how to get into the heavens,” pope lago smiling his face out.
As she was only able to make noise, he left.
Moving out of the side room, facing towards statue crucified of serpent gleaming with light. He bend into his knees.
“oh lord forgive her hearsay because now she had attain her punishment,” In a sadden tone.
Sound of walking.
“Bless me lord”, a man in silver armor walks in. A silver swords to his side and a youthful face.
“May gods blessing be with you,”
“Father, I have a confession,” he was sad as he said that.
Bending in his knees he said he don’t know what is right or wrong.
He said with lots of sadness and little bit of anger.
He don’t know if it’s Right to take taxes to maintain the gods church. Or if it’s Wrong to not do that and sustain themselves.
He don’t know if it’s Wrong for a girls to do prostitution for the money or it is Right to survive like that.
He don’t know if a mother is doing Wrong going against the church or doing Right to fight for her baby to get food.
He don’t know if someone can attain sanity by burning her alive or by giving a second chance to live once again.
“Father if I have done anything unforgiving you can behead me,”
“No my son, it my duty to show you the right path, May the god forgive you and remember we are only doing this for the time when they will ascend and you don’t want to show them any heresy or you,”
“Thank you father.” Rising from his knees.
“ now where is the grey-man.”
“Pope lago, he is in central church province in solam town,”
“Good as soon as he take out that monster that province will be ours,” grinningly and further ordered to take the woman inside room to the spiritual pit.
“Father if you have ordered me I would have taken over the solam,”
Passionately richard said.
“No even our silver guards are no match for that monster,”
“then what if the grey-man dies.” richard asked.
“Hehehe, he can’t after all he is a monster who is responsible for that dark incident.”

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
