A never ending darkness.

He was just standing, suffering from his painful memories.

The scene of his father's death was the last thing he saw. He felt the pain. For him it was a never ending torture.

Then he remembered, he should not be dead.

Not when his friends are in danger.

Not knowing who they worship and follow.

But how? How can he tell them again?

There is a pain in his chest and all he could do was to cry silently in the darkness.

“Grim.”

Grim heard a non familiar voice. He looked around in the darkness, but all he could see was the never ending void.

“Grim” again the voice is calling him.

He looked back again and saw a light. The voice came from it.

Grim tried to run towads it. When he reached the light, his eyes opened.

As he woke up, he saw an unfamiliar place.

"Where am I?" He said to himself.

"Welcome to the demon lord's castle" A cute girl appeared before him.

It was Aguilles.

Grim thought he should be shocked right now with the girl's sudden appearance.

Then he realised, he's not feeling anything right now. Not the temperature of the room, nor the pain in his chest earlier.

"Did you save me? I thought I was dead. Wait. Did you just said Demon Lord's Castle?" Grim asked Aguilles.

"I'm sorry. But you really did die. You're just a zombie right now. I don't know who resurrected you, but wow look at how you respond, I should take note of this." Aguilles said while grabbing her notepad from the table.

Grim stood up and went to the nearest mirror. He saw his eyes are now black with red iris. His skin and hair color are pale with a bit of purple. Lastly, there is a large stitch from his stomach up to his cheeks.

He then tried to move closer to Aguilles when the door slams open and something tore his arm.

It was Selena. After toring one of Grim's arms, she threw it to the side and transformed to her human form.

"Y-you! Aguilles! You alright?! What did this undead do to you?!" Selena asked while guarding Aguilles.

"N-no! It's alright! I don't think he's going to harm me. R-right?" Aguilles asked Grim.

Even though Grim can't feel anything he still tried to give a smile and said.

"I won't do anything. I just wanted to asked if you found someone else. An old man, well not so old. He's my father."

Selena and Aguilles both went silent for a second.

Selena tried to relax her body, while still being on guard.

She explained to Grim how she found him and left the other body at the beach.

Grim thought he should cry or atleast be sad, but he can't. He can't feel anything.

"Who made me like this?" Grim asked the two girls.

But no one answered.

"You, we found you with some necklace one with a stone and something like hook. Where did you get it?" Selena asked him.

"It's my father's gift to me from my mom. Is there something wrong with it?" After hearing that Aguilles spoke her thoughts.

"But... It was Miss Lisa's necklace, the Queen also the only wife of the first demon lord Death. So how?" Aguilles murmured to herself. Selena being a werewolf and having a good sense of hearing, heard what she said. Selena transformed and growled at Grim.

"YOU! DON'T YOU DARE LIE TO ME!" Selena shouted.

"R-relax Selena... Their family must have just picked it up when it was lost." Aguilles said trying to protect Grim.

"Aguilles! Why do you protect this guy so much!" Selena asked.

Grim walked towards where his arm was and picked it up. He looked at Selena and said,

"You're cute wolf."

Grim did not intend to insult her and he was sincere about it.

"Look, I don't know where it came from. All I know is that my dad told me that it's a gift from my mom. I'm grateful that you helped me, but since it looks like no one knows why I'm like this and who made me like this, then It'll be just a waste of time to be here. I hope they're still alive I have to find them..." Grim said. He remembered Elliot and Arriane still in whiteshore not knowing the truth.

Selena turned to human form again and blocked his path.

"You can't go! We still have questions and we want to know who you are!" Selena said.

Grim looked at her and answered, "Son of fisherman Gild Hardwell from Whiteshore. Grim Hardwell. I don't care about what you want I'm dead anyway. Atleast my friends deserves to know the truth and get away from that hellhole. So please let me through."

"Whiteshore? Do you really think you can get past the holy knights and adventurers there? You'll just be cut to more pieces." A man's voice echoed in the room, it was demon lord Shin. Aguilles and Selena bowed right away at his presence, beside him was Gabriel the the demon butler.

"What do you want from me?" Grim asked.

Shin looked at him and smiled. "To know who you really are Grim Hardwell, I presume you already know the truth behind the lies of the angel you once worshipped?"

Shin smirked after Grim just stood silently.

"How about joining my army? You might be a zombie without feelings, but I know that you wanted revenge, also you can even save your friends." Shin continued.

"I don't care anymore. As long as you help me save them. Then I'll let you use me. Also..." Grim replied.

"What is it?" Shin asked.

"Atleast give me back the hook from the necklace."

Shin grabbed something from his pocket and gave the whole necklace to Grim. "I'll give both back. It's yours anyway."

Shin smiled.
