《Powerful》Oma

“Meet Oma,” said Dian, leading them to get their bracelets. Oma had long cascading red hair that covered most of her face. She looked shyly away from them.
“Oma has fire powers. She’s not exactly... fire-resistant like the rest of the fire people. She’s really shy at first, but once you get to know her she’s really nice,” said Dian. Oma looked at them for a moment before going into the back room to get their bracelets.
“Why is she working this?” asked Phila.
“Oh, she doesn’t like to talk about it, so I’ll tell you. She accidentally set the old library on fire a while back so this is her sort of penance,” said Dian.
“How long ago?” asked Sahara.
“I’d say about 9 years ago. Why?” asked Dian. Oma came back with their bracelets. Ella immediately felt weighed down by hers.
“I can’t fly!” she complained as the bracelet locked around her wrist. She twisted and pulled at it but the bracelet wouldn’t come off. Sahara snapped her bracelet on. She vanished and then reappeared.
“My powers still work,” she told them. For Phila, she still had her powers also.
“Why can’t Ella fly anymore?” Phila asked Dian.
“The bracelets are specifically designed for your powers, and since we had a bunch of flying students try to escape the campus a while back, the flying kids are watched extra hard,” said Dian. “Sorry. But Oma can fix that up for you.”
“Why doesn’t your bracelet numb your electricity?” asked Ella.
“It does, but I have abnormal charge readings,” said Dian.
“Phila, leave your bracelet alone,” said Oma looking over at Phila, who was changing her wrist sizes to she could slip out of the bracelet. Unfortunately, the bracelet changed sizes too.
“Remember that your bracelet is designed for your power, and your power alone,” warned Dian. “And if you keep trying to break out of it you could possibly sound an alarm”
“So it’s possible to break the bracelet?” asked Phila. Oma shot her a warning glance.
“Don’t,” was all she said before she disappeared into the depths of the library.
