"I'm all right," River replies, smiling at him.
James notices River's bandaged wound and asks, "What happened to you?"
"Oh," says River, looking at her bandaged wound. "One agent shot me, but the ball didn't come in. I'll be fine."
"Go and see the doctor. he'll Wrap the wound well."
"I don't need a doctor."
"All right," says James. "Do you have the electronic component?"
"Yes," says River, taking the component out of her pocket. She gives it to James.
"I have to sort things out now and then we can be together, get organized and wait for me in the room here," James says, pointing to the room.
James walks down the right corridor towards the right-hand room. He opens the door and enters the room. In the room sits Lucas and next to him on the table are the device, the metal detector and the three metals.

"How long will it take you to connect the component to the device?"

"I want that you will keep staring straight all the time and do not look back, is it clear?" Says the masked voice.
"Yes."
"You'll get a data card soon," says the masked voice. "You will have to make the CTU analysts work on this card instead of the real data card that you have."
How will I do that?" Asks Paul.
"Think of something, I'm sure you'll find a way to do it," says the scrambled voice.
A man with sunglasses holding a silver suitcase, walks from the back of the bench. The man has short black hair and is dressed in a suit and a tie. Paul gets up from the bench and walks toward the trash can. He sees the card in the bin and takes it.
"I took it," Paul says.
"You have until nine o'clock to change the cards and that the analysts to decipher this card."
"But it can take time for the analysts to decipher the card," Paul says.
"Don't worry, I did it that it will take them about ten minutes," says James's scrambled voice. James goes down the stairs and continues: "You have to do it until the end of the hour and if you don't get it until then, your family will pay the price."
James hangs up and walks toward the bedroom. He enters the room and sees River combing in front of the mirror.
"Waoh, this job is exhausting," James says in frustration. "I have too many things on my head."
River puts the comb on the shelf and approaches him.
"Maybe you should relax," says River with a smile, moving her hand over his chest.
"I guess so," James says, smiling at her.
They kiss.
"I love your hair when it's smooth and cozy," James says calmly, smoothing his hand on her hair.
They kiss and hold each other. James takes off his shirt and then River takes off her shirt. She wears a black bra. They land on the bed and Continue to kiss each other.

The Last Science [SE]
[SE has the same content as the original story, split into smaller chunks for easier reading. This story is on a temporary hiatus due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. I work in healthcare and unfortunately no longer have the freetime to continue posting on a regular basis. As soon as our workload decreases, I will return. Thanks for reading! 💙] No one ever knows the whole story. Deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, the fading town of Rallsburg stumbles upon an amazing discovery—magic itself. Faced with potentially world-shattering power, the people of Rallsburg keep the secret for themselves. Led by Rachel DuValle, a perpetually underestimated college student with grand ambitions, they seek to found a new society. The world beyond suspects nothing, but magic cannot stay hidden forever. A train arrives in Rallsburg carrying Alden Bensen, a directionless high school graduate. To him, magic could represent meaning for his life, an explanation for his empty existence. This potent force offers anyone the power to change humanity forever—or send it cascading into swift and total annihilation. The Last Science is an ongoing science-fiction / low-fantasy web novel series, focused on the modern world with a twist. New societies bud and grow, but the people who make them up are imperfect and flawed. The story includes elements of mystery, action, crime, interpersonal drama, relationships, philosophy, sociology, politics, and much more, all centered on the perspective characters driving the tale. This is the "Scraps Edition" of the story, where the chapters have been split up into bite-size chunks (roughly 1500-3000 words), for your convenience. The prose has been edited from its original form, with some improvements, but there are no content differences from the original. New chapters will be posted throughout each week starting on Friday and appearing on multiple days thereafter, depending on the length of the chapter. Content Warning (by request): This series delves into some topics and situations which may be upsetting for some readers. In American rating parlance, the narrative would be rated PG-13 (except for language), but some have noted the story can get pretty dark on occasion. Please use your best judgment, and don't be afraid to take breaks and come back later. I'll still be here! [Discord] - come hang out and chat! Asturian Warbringer - A LitRPG on Earth
Currently releasing 5 chapters a week Luke Kells liked only one thing about himself: his green eyes. He hated getting bullied, hated being poor, hated being an orphan, hated his weakness, hated the government, hated his life. If someone had given him a button to push and kill everyone but him and his granddad, he would've done it without a second thought. Then, one day, after fainting during a beating, he woke up with memories that would change his life. Magic, martial arts, how to craft special artifacts; he knew it all. Anyone would’ve taken that path to glory at once. However, he had to deal with a lot on his plate first. To even begin walking that path, Luke first had to deal with his own psychological issues. Almost two years of brutal bullying that was akin to torture and no support from the school staff of the police had left him with a broken soul. Before even realizing he could be rich or powerful, he had to bring himself out of the mental hellhole he found himself in. Oh, and his memories also told him the Sentinel Tower would change reality in six months to protect the planet from the Demonic Horde. But that wasn’t as important as not making the local bully angry, right? A story about personal growth, overcoming obstacles, and reaching absolute glory at the end of the path. This is a slow-paced, character-centered story. If you want something faster paced, filled with almost immediate and nonstopping action, check out my other novel: Modern Awakening - A cultivation, LitRPG, apocalyptic novel.
