Chapter 5 - Gamble

Just when I thought everything was going good and all. A fight broke out. Suddenly on hearing my question, Renjiro from Sagittarius sign attacked me and I used my wind elemental to dodge it. But it seems like all three of them have agreed to do a temporary truce to fight against us. The moment they opted for that, I lost. But, I had anticipated this development and brought Yukio with me but if he did not about the afterimage then he is pretty much useless in this fight.

Alright, now the only option out of this is to surrender myself and without really delaying anything, go straight for what I wanted. Just when I was about to do that something unexpected happened...

"Renjiro back away from him."

"Huh?"

Masumi from Scorpio Sign stood in front me with a magic circle in her right hand. I was honestly surprised by it, not even me, everyone else was surprised by it too. Masumi looked at me and told me...

"You said your name was Arata Akihiro right?"

"Y-Yes."

"I trust you."

"Huh?"

She trusts me? I don't even know whether I should be surprised or scared or anything. For all, I care about and know is that she genuinely trusts me since she is ready to fight by my side right now. I let out a grin and told her...

"Thanks a lot, Masumi-san. It's good to know that someone is sensible here."

"Don't mention it. So, how would you like to do it?"

She looked at me with a smile on her face. It's like...nevermind. I looked at Yukio and told him to go to the class before me since it's going to take a bit more time. And he left with giving me an angry glare. I sighed and looked at Masumi and told...

"I would like to discuss a few things but it seems like we have to stop those two idiots first."

"Fufu...I know. Let's do it Akihiro-kun!"

"Roger Masumi-san"

"Tch, why do they look formidable together."

"Masumi is strong herself but that other Akihiro guy is giving a strong aura himself."

"Eichiro, take care of that guy. I will take on Masumi."

With that, we all rushed at each other. Eichiro and Masumi-san split apart while sparring each other and here I was fighting with magic circles while running about against Renjiro.

"Fire Elemental - Hellfire Missiles" Barrage of missiles landed from the magic circle atop of me. I used my running speed to dodge some of those while taking cover behind rocks and I used my Wind Elemental - Tidal Wave to create a tidal barrier to sever the missiles. Then he rushed at me for hand to hand combat since he saw that magic wasn't working...

He rushed at me and tried to kick me in the face. I blocked it with my own kick and using that momentum he went for a sidekick to my jaw with his other one leg. Crap if I have to block I have to use my miasmatic arm which is really bad for me. That means I have to use my...

"Wind Elemental - Afterimage"

"Shit..."

I used afterimage just before a rock and he hit his leg on the rock, he groaned in pain but this was my chance to deal some good damage. I used yet another magic...

"Wind Elemental - Evocation of Force"

I used the surrounding mana to create a wind force and blew it towards Renjiro. Even with his leg in that shape, he got up and put up a barrier...

"Fire Elemental - Blaze"

He successfully deflected my magic but he was looked quite drained. On the other hand...

''It's been a while since we fought hasn't it Masumi?"

''It sure has been Eichiro."

"Tell me, why did you take his side?"

"His eyes...did not seem like a liar's eyes."

"I see. So, you see him as your little brother.''

"S-Stop..."

"I sometimes think."

"S-Saying..."

''Did you kill your brother?"

"Shut up!!!"

Masumi rushed towards Eichiro in rage. Eichiro let out a grin and said in a low voice...

"You really are so easy to bait."

"Water Elemental - Rain of Balance"

"Wind Elemental - Aura of Balance"

Their both spells connected. But during that time, since Masumi's concentration was deteriorating because of anger, Eichiro used that opportunity and broke through the spells and closed the distance between her and him and push kicked her in the stomach. The force was so hard that she coughed up blood from her mouth and hit a rock far away. Eichiro continued the assault and was about to finish it, just then...

"Wind Elemental - Runic Volley"

I decided to step in. I went in front of the wounded Masumi and put up a barrier for protecting her.

"Wind Elemental - Refresh"

That blocked all of the volleys of wind coming at us. I picked up Masumi-san like a princess carry and hopped from places to places, giving us some distance from Eichiro and Renjiro. That was pretty close. This Eichiro guy is tough. Even though Masumi-san was in a berserk mood, he was still able to handle that much of a powerful spell and retaliate as well. I hit Renjiro in the solar plexus so he is lying down unconscious and since Masumi-san is badly wounded as well...It's a 1v1 against me and Class Leader of Libra, Eichiro.

"Umm, Akihiro-kun you can put me down you know..."

"Ah!"

I forgot about the fact that I was still carrying Masumi-san. But, she was badly wounded...She had a cut in her side of the stomach, her arm looked broken and she was coughing blood earlier too. There is no way she was in a position to put up a fight nor even walk. I let out a smile and told her...

"You're wounded Masumi-san. Leave this to me and we'll get you treated soon."

"B-But...I am a lady too after all..."

"Did you say anything?"

"N-No!"

She blushed and averted her gaze. She looked a bit angry but now was not the time to dwell in those thoughts. I looked at Eichiro who looked at me with amazement.

"I can't believe you were able to defeat Renjiro. Well, he was the weakest among ourselves anyways but you're a thing of wonder as well."

"I did not like how you phrased it. Pfft, he sounded like an old man."

"Fufu, he sure did."

Masumi-san and I started laughing. Eichiro became pissed watching this and started asking me questions...

"Gah, Arata Akihiro. Tell me whatever you know about everything regarding this world."

"I was willing to tell it to all three of you but after this...I won't."

"T-Then I will force you to!"

Ever since I called this three, I had anticipated this would happen. I checked out Pisces and Capricorn and had that little interaction. So, I wanted to check out the other signs too. Since I heard that these three had a competitive relationship among themselves, this would be a great opportunity to interact with them and as well as check them for information.

By anticipated I meant, I had predicted that a fight would occur but I was surprised when Masumi-san joined my side. But I got what I wanted and needed out of this interaction. I figured out that Eichiro is yet another opponent to look out for. But, I don't intend to lose against him here either. I can win if I gamble here which I most definitely...Will.
