Flara opened her eyes to be met with inky blackness. Or so it seemed until her eyes adjusted to see a circular cave-like chamber. It was a lot bigger than the first one. Two grey pillars was holding up a very intricate archway. Underneath the archway was the last slate, pulsing a black and red hue. Flara was cautious as she stepped, then tripped forward. She looked down and saw the ambassador’s body . She knelt down and looked him over. ‘Did I bring him over? ‘ She thought looking at his features. They were older, but for some strange reason he wasn’t decaying like a dead body should . She pulled his body and leaned him against the wall. She approach the last slate and examined it . Claw marks sliced through the stone making the rules illegible except for a few words , one was the word ‘family’ it was scratched out and the word ‘suffering’ was in its place, and Benevolent was crossed out and Sinister was carved instead.
The room was quiet, except for the deep humming coming from the stone. Flara glanced around to make sure there was no threat. She took out the chisel and the hammer and started to chisel the slate clear. She felt a slight breeze come into the room and felt a presence behind her , before she could react, she was thrown across the room hitting the stone wall. Her body ached from the trauma, and fear started to set in. She look up, and Sinister had her engulfed . She screamed out in pain, feeling his negativity pierce through her like a dagger. But this time she felt him, felt his pain, his suffering. She closed her eyes and saw two souls. One was Benevolent and the other, the ambassadors’ . She opened her eyes and her energy burst out, pushing Sinister back. She struggled as she got up and stood staring him down. “Benevolent!” she shouted. “I know you’re in there! You can’t let him take control of you!” She noticed Sinister paused. Then suddenly he was full force pushing her against the wall. His deep growling voice boom through out the chamber. “Benevolent, is not here anymore! His ways were worthless. He was suppose to be a God. He was supposed to be compassionate, but he didn’t care about his citizens, only about balance.” Flara felt the betrayal and hate coming from his energy . She did all she could to contain it and not let it over power her.

His energy was still pushing through but instead of devouring her, she saw images of the ambassador begging Benevolent to save his daughter. Benevolent refusing and the ambassador walking away in desperation. She watched as the ambassador went to the first chamber and started to change the rules scratching them out and writing in ‘immortality.’ Each time he changed the rules the world weakened and Benevolent weakened, keeping him in a suspended state in his chamber . She saw the day his daughter gave birth and saw her mother and Tarot’s parents assisting . The baby was fine but his daughter was hemorrhaging. Sara looked at the ambassador with saddened eyes, and whispered. “ There is nothing we can do, but to make her comfortable.” The ambassador was outraged . He grabbed the compass, which Benevolent entrusted him with, and went to the ruins . He was transported to the chamber, where Benevolent light was weakened and was still hovering. The ambassador screamed at him and started scratching the the rules off the slate. The room shook and the red pulse from the ground turned black, as the ambassador kept clawing , a dark energy flowed from the the ground and pierced through him. He fell to the ground and the dark energy continue through the room and it merged with Benevolent. The dark energy flowed and swirled and Sinister was formed. Sinister went back to the ambassadors dwelling and hovered over the dying mother. She saw Sara and Tarot’s parents fighting Sinister, but he vanquished them by pulling out their life force. She saw the world changing the citizen turning against each other and killing those that did not belong in this new corrupt world.
Flara felt her energy fading and she fell to to the ground . Her heart ached seeing what the ambassador has done to this world and seeing her mother and Tarot parents becoming victims of his chaos. She was weak , and broken. She closed her eyes and heard Novas voice. ‘ This energy and power is within you. You are now the balance of both worlds.’ Sinister was hovering over her, wrapping his tentacles around her. He lifted her up , her body felt like it was being crushed. She squirmed and kicked and she stared into his crimson eyes . She couldn’t give up, she had to fight for the balance of these worlds . She didn’t want to see the devastation of Love and Nurture, she wanted to create balance . She stared him down and noticed a glimmer of blue light flickered in his eyes. She knew Benevolent was still in there she had to split their souls. She closed her eyes and push out her energy . Her energy slammed Sinister against the pillar, but before Flara could push more energy to hit him again, he slammed her on the ground, feeling her bones breaking, she was desperately gasping for air. Sinister pushed her hard against the wall hitting her head, blood dripping over her eyes. With remaining strength she had, she stood up thinking of Tarot and Adia, the suffering they had endured . Her mother’s and father’s sacrifices. Her defeat turned to determination.

She felt the power in her manifest, her eyes turned white and a burst of energy protruded out of her chest . The white beam of light punctured Sinister’s chest , splitting him apart . He howled in agony as the darkness was over taken by a white light, driving the dark energy towards the ground in to a heap of smoldering ash. The whole chamber thumped like a heart beat . Flara was still levitating as her energy flowed through the room. It lifted the ambassadors in the air. Her energy absorbed through his body . His eyes snapped opened as the white energy exited out of his eye sockets. The ambassador floated suspended in the air. Flara felt the power and truth inside her. Her body was transformed and her physical body was replaced by a spiritual one. She glided in the air towards the last slate. Swirls of her spiritual body touch the stone and it quivered and shook. She didn’t need the chisel anymore. She knew the rules the truth and by emanating her energy, the stone face of the slate fell away leaving it clear. Flara’s energy carved the rules into the stone, each word leaving a blue glow. Sinister’s smoldering remains exploded in to blue light forming a majestic wolf, his roar shook the whole chamber and the heart of the world beat again. Flara eyes widen in astonishment, Benevolent was reborn. She felt the energy leave her and she fell to the ground , followed by the ambassador. Benevolent blue spiritual body glowed and shined throughout the chamber.

God complex
A hero is summoned to another world, vanquishes evil, yadda yadda, saves the kingdom and lives happily ever after. There is no such hero in this story. Just a desperate youth with great ambition and very little to lose. A zero to hero style story set in a country clearly inspired by modern USA with just as many issues and the minority of mages often pulling strings from the shadows. I am also hoping the whole thing won't turn out edgy enough to cut me. I want to rely on actual good writing rather than cheap powertrip gimmicks. edit: Please don't mind Zetari's salty review. He is quite literally making up any use of the torture and human experimentation trope and says MC is blank after 4 chapters where he conveniently stops reading just at the start of his first character development. For extra entertainment, I will be uploading chapters two at a time and compose a relevant poem through the chapter names. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
