《Blood-Sakura : The Paranormal Residence》Chapter 7 : Dreams and etc.

The fated day arrived faster than a bullet train. Early in the morning, the movers rushed in like SWAT team of some low budget film, and moved away our boxes and furniture one by one. The house suddenly felt shrunk up and small, yet hollow. Like a crevice which could never be filled up, despite its size.
To my utter annoyance, the day was too bright for my mood. It was shining everywhere yet ominously silent as well. It felt like the most unusual Sunday, on which perhaps people had intuitively taken shelter in premonition of some unforeseen and invisible apocalypse. But if that was so, then why were we moving on the day of the apocalypse? I wondered.
Should have I asked father or perhaps not. They might think I had gone nuts. They were already sceptical enough of my mental health regarding my inability to socialize. Does apocalypse come to everyone? Not necessary. My sister seemed way much happy to walk straight into an apocalypse. Perhaps it is more of a personal thing.
At this moment of my brooding, Rin knocked me aside with a packing box. "Either help or go sit in the corner! Stop blocking the way!" She shouted as she walked out of the door.
If it was some other day, I might have gotten into a fight with her. But it wasn't some other day. I walked into my own room. Or which was supposed to be my room till a few hours ago. With none of my stuff remaining there, it felt alien. The only thing remained in the room was my double-decked bed which my parents had decided to sell to save the trouble.
I took one last glance through the window. The cityscape, which had fascinated me throughout the years, suddenly made me very sad. It seemed very apathetic towards my sorrow. An unexplainable feeling of anger and sadness rose within me. I had spent so many nights looking at this urban landscape. Yet it doesn't give a crap about our parting?

I shook my head.
Ah, have I gone insane? Why are my thoughts going so crazy?
I looked at the window sill where I had seen the crow that day. The surrealism of that incident still puzzled me. I couldn’t remember anything after hearing that inhumanly human laughter. Later I had found myself waking up from sleep, the sun had set and the room was dark. As I had sat up in a state of bewilderment, I noticed a strange object lying below the window pane.
I shivered as I tried to remember what shock it had given me when I held it in my hand in that poorly illuminated room.
Coming back to the present, I took out the strange object from my pocket. It was a feather that had the colour of midnight black. It was the feather which I had discovered that day after waking up. I was sure that it was the feather of that crow, which confused me more about the incident being a dream or reality.

The Sun's Remnant
Two people are transported to a world with magic, but it is no Wonderland. When the god of light died, he decided to take the world with him. At least, that’s what many believe in the Kingdom of Rhine, a once vast kingdom of which only a small corner remains — and even that is threatened. On one side, by the Twisted Forest, a corruption spreading from the deathplace of the gods that has already swallowed up most of Rhine. On the other, by the resurgent Kagrathan Empire, resurrected by the infallible God-Emperor Karlatz. A holy order of knights carry out their mission despite the death of their god. A band of talented misfits prepare for a heist out of their league — by stealing. Mages hunt for secrets even as the world ends. A ruler does what must be done to save the living, no matter the cost. Into this world of magic and murder, two adrift souls are inexplicably dragged: a mother estranged from her young daughter due to her own mistakes, and a young man with a love of fantasy who has gradually drifted away from his friends and family. As they each struggle to find their place in this world, they must also answer the question: do they want one?***Content Warning: I've drafted about 100,000 words (most of the first volume), and there is no sexual content so far, though I may add it in the future. There is occasionally gore and traumatising content as the story demands. I commit to keeping all of the above non-voyeuristic. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
