For someone that looked somewhat… devilish, I want to say, his hand wasn’t cold or clammy. Sure, the handshake felt awkward, but it was still warm. In fact, the television man’s hand felt warm, too. But it was hard to tell through his leather gloves, probably.
I looked to Teal, her bouncing on her heels. She’ll deny it for the rest of her being, but she looked surprisingly giddy. Nobody tell her, but her poker face was not the best.
She was bouncing on her heels ever so slightly, hands behind her back - the smile she had on was polite and slight, but her eyes were filled with a curious energy…
… and focused on the television man.
Teal’s always mentioned she was good with tech, but even I couldn’t have predicted this.
I couldn’t really blame her, though. There was definitely a sort of… different energy coming from these men. As if the television and devil horns weren’t enough of an indicator that they were different, anyway.
“Oh! Have a… seat?” I motioned to our couch.
Teal and I sat on some beanbags we keep to the side, me having dragged one bag to the side. We face each other, watching as the men shuffle over to the couch, and sit quietly.
Television man leaned back, relaxed. The devil boy was curled into himself, twiddling his fingers.
“So…” Television man clicked his tongue. “You both are…?”
“University students.” The devil boy cocked his head to the side. “Both doing design, same semes-”
“Actually,” Teal cut in, laughing. “We’re more than students.” She looked at me and winked.
… I made a mental note to remind Teal later, that she can’t actually wink. It looked more like a wince that tried to look flirtatious, but failed miserably.

“See, I’m… I’m like, a princess. Yeah!” She nodded to herself. “I’m actually a princess, and you may refer to me as such. Meanwhile,” she motioned to me, “Purple there’s like… an heiress. Different. You can call her... “ She grinned. “Mistress. Mistress Purple.”
“Well then.” Television man chuckled. The screen of the television flickered to life, displaying the features of a face. There was nothing definite, but… there was something, alright. “Let us greet you properly, then. Good day, my liege,” he turned to Teal. “My… Princess.”
Teal immediately started choking on her own spit.

The New World
An AI calling itself Schema has assimilated earth into its system. As a consequence, everyone gained access to status screens, power-ups, and skills. This AI turned these concepts from fiction to fact. It's easy to become intoxicated with leveling up and becoming stronger. To some, it's too good to be true like living out a dream. For Daniel, however, it's closer to a nightmare. He's in a bit of a predicament. Cracks in our dimensional fabric have unleashed terrifying beasts from dark, abyssal places. Schema organizes these cracks into dungeons, giving the native species of the planet a chance to fight back. Daniel finds himself trapped in one of these dungeons. Not long after, he discovers there's only one way out. Kill or be killed. (Note: I am currently editing the story and I'm uploading those edits. It will take time to do this, so if you find a huge shift in the story's formatting, that's why. I'm steadily hammering away at it, but it's going to take time. Thanks for your understanding, if you're offering it.) This is a lit-RPG inspired by the Fallout series of games and the Legend of Randidly Ghosthound. Choices of the Magicless Son
I had an ability that allowed me to watch everyone. I narrated everything I witnessed. To who? To whichever being that's listening to my thoughts right now. I have a gut feeling you're there. Erik Spearhand was born from one of the many concubines of the current human emperor. The boy was insignificant. He was the only one in the whole world who couldn't use magic. And yet, his choices impacted everyone. I had seen every sort. Powerful mages who could kill with a thought. Monster people who had their own history among human and beastman civilization. And even what I presume are time travelers. Those mess with my head. And still, the magicless son was the most formidable of them all. Of all of us.
