"A millennium of war and chaos finally peace is now at hand. With this peace, the good would conquer and prevail. This peace is our stepping stone towards our dreams, the dream of harmony, and prosperity.
With this power bestowed upon me, I will fight for what is right. I will fight for the glory of our Unity!
Here I stand to watch over the enemies. To protect what is dear to me. To defeat the demons who brought strife and doom to our world.
Together with my powerful companions, we stand and fight!"
Asmo, 'Founder of the Bestia'
---
"Blergh!"
I lean on the tree vomiting all my breakfast.
'What is happening? Is this the Royal Study?'
To get to the Royal Study, the Principal prepared a portal inside his office. The other option, coming from the eastern coast of Bestia, traveling to the central region, it would take one month of travel.
So, I stepped inside the portal.
The same sensation I felt engulf me, just like when the President stop me before. An intangible power took over me, but something felt different.
I saw swirls of myriads of colors.
Inside I could see black squares placed sporadically.
The suffocation of being constricted made me nauseous.
It took only a split second of me being in that state when a black hand pulled me on one of the black doors.
Now here I am leaning on a tree, hurling up the meal I had this morning.
Observing the new environment. I am sure this is not the Royal Study.
I am in a dark environment. Trees surrounded me as far as my eyes could see.
'Am I in a forest?'
If this is a forest, where is the Royal Study?
Still groggy, I explored the area. The portal I came out with is nowhere to be found.

This forest felt weird. One word came to mind. Apart from the sound of my hooves hitting the ground, the brush of bushes and grasses I pass by, everything is silent. Silence is that word.
I stopped and heightened my senses. Heartbeat pumping, huffs of air in and out of my nose. I hear nothing less and nothing more.
'Luck? I take back what I said about that stat.'
I am now confused. 'What is really happening?'
I was reborn in another world, became a newborn foal of the Centaur race, put to school four days after birth, was about to be teleported to the Royal Study, but now this?
Everything is so random.
[Welcome to Daemon Continent]
'Daemon? What do you mean by Daemon? Isn't it Bestia? I don't know anymore!'
Abruptly heat flared from my chest. 'F*ck! That hurts!' I fell down to the side. I did not even felt the impact of me falling down.
All my attention is on the phenomenon undergoing on my chest. 'Why does this kept on happening?'
I screamed my heart out because of the excruciating chest pain. The heat started to spread out.
It climbed to my neck, which made me scratch it. Then into my arms, upper abdomen, to my horse body.
From my neck down till my tail, a boiling sensation tortured me. I howled until my voice got hoarse with my eyes close.
[Error: The racial skill is undetermined, two types are being detected, a further calculation undergoing.]
'What? Wasn't the error was because of my age? There was another one!' This must be the reason for what is happening to me now. What is this racial skill?
[Error: The two types of racial skill is breaking each other apart. This may cause both types to merge or death.]
'Death?! Oh, Sh*t!' My fifth day in this world and now I am about to die. Clearly, the bullshit Luck stat is not that effective.
If the Luck stat gave one the possibility of success. Would dying be a sign of success? It is not! That is why Luck is a bullcrap stat!
[System: Detected Higher Luck. Setting a higher success rate on racial skill merging.]
[1%... 45%... 100%]
[System: Racial skill successfully merge.]
[System: Merging Human and Centaur racial skills.]
[Human Racial skill: Grants a stat point in every level up of skill. Has the ability to learn skills upon multiple practices.]
[Centaur Racial skill: Acquire Stomp, Spearmanship, and Stamina Recovery Increase skills upon birth. Grant a stat point in every birth date.]
[System: Merged into a Personal Skill. Human skill 60%, Centaur 40%.]
[Personal Skill: Grants a stat point in every level up of skill and birth date. Has the ability to learn skills upon multiple practices.]
Multiple blue screens pop in my mind. Even with eyes close, I could still see these blue screens, but I just ignored them.
The boiling sensation in my body gradually eased. I never noticed that I am out of breath until a gasp a mouthful of air.
That's when I went unconscious.

"Everything is on their hands now," Zaly handshakes Mr. and Mrs. Colt. Both parents just bid farewell to their son.
'I hope their son would be okay in that kind of environment.'
"Um... Mister Zaly? Something is happening with the portal."
Paul, the Vice Principal, a fairy warned Zaly. Paul assisted Zaly in setting up the portal. Right now, the portal is rippling.
"What is going on?" Zaly was confused for a moment, "Qui-quickly! Close it!" He hurriedly waved his staff but he is just a step too late.
"MASTER!"
A white bunny ear and a pink hair distinctly came out of the portal before it closed.
'Isn't that the Headmistress?!' Paul thought.
Jazz, the Headmistress, clung into the floating Zaly. "Master! How many years has it been!"
Paul clearly saw tears on Jazz's face. 'I-it may be tears... of... joy?'
Jazz cuddled Zaly like he is a toy she can play with. She put strength to it that Paul could clearly hear bones cracking.
"Jazz! Jazz! Sto-Stop. STOP!"
The world turned monochrome. Everything went silent. Paul felt his breathing slowed to a stop. In fact, everyone's breath slowed to a stop.
"I told you to stop. You maniac!" Zaly clambered out of her reach and snap his fingers putting time back to normal. Zaly went high up to prevent Jazz from getting near him.
"No! MASTER!"
"Why are you here? Did you orient the kid?"
"MASTER!"
"Don't make me do it again. Answer the question 'Fluffy'.
"Oh! My nickname." Jazz laughed, "Say it again! I never heard it, from like, ages ago!"
"ANSWER THE GODDAMN QUESTION JAZZ!"
"Meanie! You call me Fluffy again and I will answer the question."
Zaly sighed, 'Again. How did she become the Headmistress?!'
"... Fluffy."
"Tee-hee... What's the question again?"
Rubbing his temples and a heavy sigh for the second time, "How's the kid?"
"Kid? Hm. Oh! The transfer student? We didn't receive him. That's why I decided to enter the portal."
"What?!"

BODY&SHADOW
AN ILLUSTRATED NOVEL • UPDATES TUESDAY AND FRIDAY In a time before living memory, the King Dragon of the Void watched the world and realized there was a crack. He realized that humanity was destroying the rock upon which they lived; they leaked life’s code into the churning chaos. At first the change was imperceptible: nanites overtook microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, amoebas. Insects became increasingly inorganic; birds and lizards followed soon after. Even humans were infected by their own advances, cell by cell, till there was not a person left on earth who wasn’t at least part synthetic, the product of a prior generation’s carelessness. The world’s population was ravaged by mechanical viruses with no vaccines; they were mercilessly overtaken by bacteria that knew no death. Soon, most of the planet was empty and only a handful remained who remembered the hedonist realm they came from; only a few were left who remembered what the world looked like when their buildings touched the sky. The King Dragon of the Void watched the rock turn. He watched humans cower as the Old World fell down around them; watched their great monuments crumble into dusty ruins; watched their codes become precious, ancient gem memories forged under the crushing pressure of so many fallen stones. The world has spun many times around the sun since chaos swallowed man whole. It is a simpler time than the one that died out, but the people now are not immune to the folly of the people before. There is old code everywhere: in the water, in the air, in the trees. The heart of man has been replaced by power cores, many of which are hard-coded with preternatural abilities—when they die, an esoteric mountain sect collects their cores and stores them in their hollow mountain home to preserve the sanctity and dignity of human death. They’ve learned to harness artifacts of the old world, gemstones full of codes their nanite infused bodies can parse as spells imbuing their users with great power; they inlay them into their bodies, into their skins, connected to their cores by copper conduit and gold tracers; they dress themselves in tattoos to advertise their prowess; they battle for relics in arenas, fight for them in the open world wherever they are found. The King Dragon of the Void watches the rock turn and wonders: when will this hunger finally make the rock stop spinning? WELCOME TO FANXING CITY … Twenty-five years ago, Fanxing City and the surrounding lands were commanded by the mad King Zao Beiguan. For many years, the King hoarded wealth, artifacts, food; he demanded tribute from a people already taxed to the edges of their existence and expected they be happy with their circumstances. Noncompliance was often punished harshly, bodies displayed proudly on Fanxing’s streets as a warning, from the city gates to the Zao palace’s golden doors. The youths of several prominent clans came together to overthrow the tyrant and made names for themselves as legendary heroes across the land: Tian, Ren, Feng, Gui, Ma, and Zhenxi. Even wanderers from the Luanshi sect descended from Yunji mountain to aid the rebellion. When the dust settled after three years, Tian Yunyong ascended the throne of Fanxing and swore to honour his slain father’s memory, and has maintained Fanxing’s peace with generosity and mercy where fear and cruelty once reigned.
