The fourth month of pregnancy was a tough one for you. You had to stay in bed that full month. You began feeling pain and pressure on your stomach. This was, explained the healer, because of the baby’s nature. They were still unsure of what it would be...if it would be a Jotun or not, and they could only see that once the baby was born, and not before.

This whole month you were taken care by Frigga and the healer. Thor would come visit every day and tell you about how he met Jane, how much he missed her. You’d always tell him to just marry her and bring her live here with all of you. He’d just blush and say that he knew that his father would be against it.

You: “I do believe that you must prove to your father that you truly love her. And that she means the world to you. I know that she knows this...but your father hasn’t seen the two of you together. The way you look at each other...I know it’s killing both of you...You should give it a shot. And if he doesn’t let you, well..why not go live with her on Earth?” he looked surprised about it.

Thor: “I hadn’t thought about that possibility..” he said as he pondered over it

You: “hahaha, well you’ve got time to think and plan whatever it is you want to do. And you must know that whatever your choice is, I’ll be right there to support the both of you” you said with a warm smile.

Thor: “Thank you, I just want to be as happy as you two are..”

You: “You will be. Just wait. And remember, we’ll help you in everything and every way we can”

Thor: “I thank you again. Well, I’ve got some thinking to do. And I will leave so you can rest as well. Talking does tire you out” he said with a small laughter.

You: “Take care, Thor. And come tell me what you’ve decided” you waved at him.

The days passed on by quickly. The fourth month had finally passed and you could walk again, though Frigga and Thor stressed that you should always call any of them if you were to get up. You were eternally grateful for how much they worried and cared for you. And now you were in your last month. You hated the thought of not having Loki by you when your child would be born, but he still had some time to fulfill his sentence.

You were slowly walking with Odin in the garden.

Odin: “so, how are you feeling?”

You: “I am feeling well, alfather. Though it appears that the little one is becoming more restless.”

Odin: “and does it hurt when that happens?” he asked, with clear worry in his voice. You knew that as the months had passed, that he had gotten kinder and softer towards how he treated you.

You: “It does not. Oh, it’s happening right now. Want to feel?” you asked him.

Odin: “Can I?”

You: “Of course, just put your hand here...oh, did you feel that?” you said with a smile.

Odin: “I-I did! I felt it move” he grinned. He then stood straight.

Odin: “Aren’t you worried?”

You: “that it could be a jotun? Not really.”you answered simply

Odin: “how so?”

You: “Well, Loki’s a jotun. You and Frigga did a fantastic job when raising your son. So I only hope that Loki and I can be as good as parents as you two were” you smiled at him. He let out a small chuckle.

Odin: “I can see why Loki chose you...You’ve melted his frozen heart...and I thank you for it. I think I can finally say that my son has returned home.” he said with a soft smile.

You: “Well, I think you should tell him that next time you see him. Some things may seem obvious to one. But with Loki, it’s better to just tell him what one’s thinking”

Odin: “I believe you are right. Shall we return?” he offered you his arm and you took it. You were walking down the hall when you felt a piercing pain.

You: “Oooff..”you said as you suddenly stopped and held your stomach.

Odin: “what’s the matter?”

You: “I- oooww!”you said loudly. Odin’s eyes widened.

Odin: “Is-is it time?!”

You: “Yes...I think the baby’s ready to come meet everyone…”Odin began to freak out.

Odin: “THOR!!! FRIGGA!!” he yelled loudly as he looked around you two. Then they appeared quickly. Frigga only had to take a glimpse at you to realize what was happening.

Frigga: “Thor, gently pick her up and go to the healer’s room. Walk gently, trying not to make her bounce too much, but try to get there soon” she quickly instructed her son as she then dashed away elsewhere.

Thor: “Right. Here, let me help you”

You: “thank you…” you said as he picked you up. Odin followed behind you two. Once Thor got you to the healer’s room Frigga was already there, with three other maidens to help. There were many water basins and cloths. Thor set you gently on the bed that was prepared for you. You were sweating and panting. Frigga and the healer began to prep you up. Thor and Odin just stood there, not knowing what to do or if they could do anything to help.

Frigga: “Don’t just stand there, bring us more hot water and cloths” she instructed them

Odin: “Right, I’ll go get the cloths…” he said as he quickly went out of the room.

Thor: “I-I’ll go get more water” he said before leaving.

Frigga: “Okay now dear, I will need you to wait a bit more...you’re not ready to start pushing just yet..” she said after inspecting you.

You: “uuughhh...It hurts…” you whimpered.

Healer: “here, bite on this for a while. It helps” she said as she brought some ice to your mouth. You quickly took it and began chewing it. Your contractions were less minutes apart now, and Thor and Odin had returned.

Thor: “Is there anything else we can do to help?”

Frigga: “Not really...you could wait outside until we’re done…” she suggested

You: “I want Loki here!” you declared. Frigga and Thor looked at Odin.

Odin: “I’m sorry but...he’s not finished his sentence…” he apologized.

You: “oooww..”you were having another contraction.

Frigga: “Now then, I need you two to step outside.” she ushered them out of the room.

You: “I want Loki…” you said as tears began to roll down your cheeks.

Frigga: “hush, I know dear...But you just have to be strong now. And later you will be able to see him again” she tried to console you as she wiped away your tears.

Healer: “We should begin now” she said to you and Frigga.

*--- Outside---*

Thor and Odin were sitting outside the healer’s room. They could hear how you whimpered with pain and how you were begging for Loki. Thor then looked at his father.

Thor: “Father...will my brother really not be able to witness the birth of his firstborn?” he also pleaded softly to his father. Odin sighed and waved to a guard to come to them.

Guard: “what do you need sire?”

Odin: “Take Thor to my son’s prison. Loki’s punishment has been fulfilled.” the guard looked surprised. Thor was thrilled when he heard this.

Thor: “thank you father!”

Odin: “Go quickly, so he can be able to presence it himself!” he said to both Thor and the guard. Thor ran as fast as he could and the guard was trying his best to keep up with him.

*---Thor’s P.O.V---*

I was running as fast as I could in order to get there in time. Once there I was trying to convince the guards to let them in, when the other guard finally arrived.

Thor: “Tell him what my father said”

Guard: “The alfather said...that Loki’s punishment...has ended..” he said out of breath. With that I looked back at the other two guards at the door.

Thor: “See, now open up the doors quickly!” I ordered. They unlocked the doors and opened the glass prison. I entered, feeling the rush in my veins.

Thor: “Loki, brother, get up! Quickly, we must go!” I said as I sat him on the bed

Loki: “I don’t have time for another one of these visions…” he said lazily trying to get back into bed.

Thor: “Loki, she’s having your child right now!” he seemed confused.

Loki: “what?” That’s when I took him by the shoulders and shook him so he’d finally fully wake up.

Thor: “You are about to become a father!” I yelled in his face, hoping he’d finally realize. Suddenly his eyes widened.

Loki: “R-Right now?! But I can’t go, my punishment-” I didn’t let him finish.

Thor: “Father has ended your punishment so you could be there to witness it!”

Loki: “F-father did?”

Thor: “yes, now get a grip. We need to get there fast!” I said as I ran out of his prison. And soon I could hear his fast steps behind me.

*---Back to your P.O.V---*

You were trying your best in bringing your child to the world. Frigga was holding your hand while the healer was telling you to keep on pushing.

You: “I..I can’t…” you panted, feeling tired and breathless.

Frigga: “You’re almost there..” Suddenly the doors burst open. Loki was standing right there.

You: “L-loki?!” you asked not believing what you were seeing. He then quickly went to your side and held your hand.

Loki: “Hello darling, I’m here” he cooed.

You: “how?”

Loki: “My father said my punishment has ended…”

Frigga: “Then I will leave you two alone. We’ll be waiting outside” she said before leaving the room.

You: “Oh Loki, I’m so glad that you’re here” you said as tears were forming.

Loki: “I’ll never leave your side, I promise.”

Healer: “Come on dearie, you’re almost there. Two more pushes…” she motivated you.

Loki: “you can do it darling” he said and then gave you a quick peck on the lips. You then took deep breathes and you began pushing. After a few minutes of pushing, you heard the cry of a baby. Both you and Loki looked at the healer.

Healer: “It’s a healthy little boy!” she announced and handed him over to you.

You: “He’s beautiful” you said happily.

Loki: “He...he is” he said as he softly held it’s hand. The healer then mentioned for Loki to cut the cord.

You: “what should we name him?” you said as you slowly handed him the child. It had black raven hair and this is how it’s eyes look like:

Loki: “How about Balder?” (means bearer of light) you looked up at him. His eyes were shining.

You: “The meaning of his name is perfect too” By then the healer had already finished making you look decent (in other words, sowing cleaning the blood, etc xD)

Healer: “I shall tell the others that they can enter” she said as she went out the door. A few seconds later they all rushed in.

Frigga: “Oh, he’s a beautiful healthy baby” she said as her eyes got watery.

Loki: “haha, want to hold him mother?” he asked her.

Frigga: “Why yes, of course” she gently picked him and rocked him. Thor then went to his brother’s side and gave him a pat on his back.

Thor: “you have a beautiful child Loki. You should be proud” Loki smiled at him.

Loki: “I am” Then Odin went to Frigga and wiggled his fingers in front of the baby.

Odin: “Oh look at you! You’re quite cute” he spoke softly to the baby.

Frigga: “he’s so beautiful, you two should be so proud” she said looking at you.

You: “we are” Loki then went over to you and gave you a light kiss.

Loki: “I will never leave your side, nor the side of our son, ever again.”

You: “Hmm, you better not. And if you do..I’ll just go and get you” you said with a soft laugh.

Loki: “I love you, darling”

You: “And I love you”
