《Gary the Mimic》Ch.11 new gem

Pov : gemsmith Opal
Taking a sip from my tea I enjoy the morning sun. That is until I got an urgent request from a dear friend.
"*sigh* let me guess you want me to fix the gem which is impossible."
"But it's urgent I even have a note fr-"
"From grale right? If it's a monster then a soul transfer needs to be done with a new gem."
I haven't even heard of monsters in gems, the most I heard about is golems.
"This will take some time so go find a mage who can and do you have the other peace."
She reaches into her bag and pulls out a small piece that's a lot dimmer then hands it to me.
"I'll be on my way."
Once gone I sit back and place the gem on the table. Beginning to relax I reach for my tea. I was about to take a sip but it was gone. I think I just finished it and I get work. The gem has a lot of symbols carved on and through it all connected by a line. The task is going to be very hard and long.
I began by drawing the symbols, filling out three pages then I began on another sheet puting what symbols connected to each other. I looked over my work multiple times to make sure there was no mistake. That's how the first week went. Then I began to plan out how to make this work. I clearly can't do this in one gem but multiple gems connected with the magnitr symbol could work. When I started this process my food disappeared, it started small but slowly it grew. From bread to sweets. It took over a week to get the gems carved then I started to put them together. By this time my temper was getting worse from food disappearing and the work being hard. Now that I finished the gem I only had to wait for the wizard. This took a while so the rest of my time was spent relaxing and enjoying the day.

"Hello, is this Opal? I'm here for the soul transfer."
"Ah yes, come right in."
Two people walked in, one was holding a small chest with a gem slot in it and the other was in leather armor. They got right to work. The person measured the gem and filed down the slot. This made my job easier. After some work they had me slot it in then began the transfer. He was about to begin it inside but a hard hit to the head made them stop. We moved outside then the transfer began. From the small cracked gem glowed a light then the other gem as well. After a few moments the chest moved. It sprouted legs from bugs, ears from a wolf and gem-like eyes. The look of it was horrifying.
Pov change : Gary
Ah it feels nice to have a body again.
"Connected back to the system. Due to gem change skills will be connected to body parts. Due to an extra connection. Any skill that is connected will have a star and say what part."
Ah, I missed that voice. But already giving me a punishment from being reclis. Oh well at least I got to eat a bunch of stuff.
I look around and find three people in front of me.
A guy in leather armor pointed a rod at me. Well the girl that had the terror aura stoped him. A girl stood in the back with a surprised look. The whole scene felt weird but that's not important. What is, is finding out who gave me the food. I couldn't tell who gave me the food so I scratched thank you for the food in the dirt. The girl in back gave a smile which turned annoyed.
"So you were the one who stole my food!"

She started to chase me around until the one girl stopped her. First impression was ruff but at least I can move now. But the want to get stronger is still there and I feel something pulling at me to go back. I quickly scratch into the dirt.
"Can I go back to the dungeon?"
They all stop and the girl gives a nod.
"Yea follow me."
The other two give their goodbyes to the girl. Then we start to move through a village.
"I'm Alice, sorry about the first time we met."
I can't give a response but she continues to talk.
"Oh before you can go back to the dungeon Grale wants to meet with you. He's the person who takes care of the dungeons."
We enter a barracks and travel down a hall until we reach an office. A man sits at a desk that's cluttered with paper. He puts down a quill and gives a smile.
"Hi, I'm Grale. I would like to ask a few questions. If you don't mind making a mental connection between me and them."
"Testing testing can you both hear me."
"Yes."
"Yes but can I have some snacks?"
"Yes after the meeting. What is your name and species?"
"Gary, my species is a mimic."
"Do you feel a connection with the dungeon? If so, how much?"
"I think It talked to me?"
"Last one, can you use magic and what kind?"
This question had a bit of worry in the tone.
"Yes but I'd prefer not to say."
Now with the questions done I get snacks. He gives a nod and then pain and darkness. I was still conscious but I couldn't move or use magic. All my senses were gone I couldn't even feel. Slowly my sense was regained and I could use magic. When I got a chance to make eyes I was back in the dungeon with a bowl of fruit by me. My surroundings were the same as when I fought the crock. I took a moment to enjoy the fruit, each one was sweet. When finished I started traveling to another area.

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.

It's Hard to be a Hero in a Parallel World
A hero is transported from the real world into a parallel world similar to the video game he's been obsessed with for the past few weeks. The problem is, this game is way too difficult, especially for a nerdy gamer boy to survive. He decides to leave the hero-duty to someone who is actually competent while he looks for a way home. He hopes his knowledge of the game will help him stay out of trouble. Unfortunately, as one would imagine, the normal events of a game would change drastically when the main character is nowhere to be found. Read as the unlikely hero gets into trouble with his new companions, while trying to survive life in this parallel world. This is an original story that takes inspiration from and pokes fun at many novels, video games, anime, and the stereotypes and tropes that appear in those media.

Rise of the Business [Class]
'Rise of the Business [Class]' is a story about a world where humanity ended up fleeing through space, after suffering several great disasters at home. On arrival we crash-landed and were soon attacked by magic wielding civilizations who learned how to deal with our weaponry with a speed that belied their seemingly simplistic nature. We were lost. But eventually we survived by abandoning technology and adapting. But this tale takes place thousands of years later, after humanity has had time to rise and falter more than once. It tells of a time where we adapted too much, focusing only on combat and magic and learning to rely on the [System] that our ancestors built in order to compete and survive on this hostile planet with the others. This is a story about our final chance during a time when all of humanity is under siege again, where we struggled to adapt too late and ultimately had to learn how to summon a collection of people from Earth through time and space to come help - but not to the 'besieged time' but back a couple of hundred years - before it went too far down the wrong path, so they can hopefully change things enough to prevent a return to that timeline. Follow Livia as she is ripped from her favorite library and end up getting lucky, or unlucky? On her very first day on the Elderwood continent. While a trio of native lads excitedly leave home to find adventure, oblivious to how very soon they might end up entangled in the fate of the world. But the question that remains to be answered, that this first leg of the journey aims to find out; is what can a LitRPG bookworm like Livia do if called on to change humanity and prepare us all for the future, all before her 21st birthday? Find out soon, as we are finishing up book 1 in the coming two weeks. Cheers for reading this far, have a biscuit!
