I woke up on the plane after the six-hour plane ride. I yawned and looked out the window. I looked at the time on the plane and saw it was one in the afternoon. I looked down and Mariana was still asleep. I stroked her hair for a moment until she woke up.

"Yes sweety, we're home now." She smiled and yawned. The plane finally landed and we got off the plane. We started walking to the water and made sure no one saw us. Mariana saw a bunch of fish near the reef, including a bunch of seahorses that swam around her. She giggled and swam around some more. We then had to leave the reef and go towards the trench. Mariana got excited when we saw bigger creatures on our way. We saw a bunch of dolphins and sharks. The sharks didn't approach us, as if acknowledging us from afar as their masters.

"Hey, Lyle?"

"Yes?"

"Do they see us as their masters?"

"No. They see you as their master." I stopped and looked at them. A shark swam next to me, looked me in the eye, and swam away.

"They will all listen to you because you're the only one that can control them." I nodded we went on our way.

We continued to swim peacefully. It was nice in all honesty. Like taking a stroll through a park or on the beach. I swam up quickly to the surface and jumped into the air. I laughed and swam back down to my siblings. Mariana giggled and the boys chuckled. I sighed and swam while on my back. It's so damn peaceful over here.

We reached the trench and swam past the barrier. I felt a strange feeling. It wasn't bad, but I'm pretty sure it' because I am home. I sighed as I entered the trench. Some kids were playing outside their homes. They gasped when they saw us and screamed to get their parent's attention.

"Mommy! Daddy! They're back!" Then everyone came out and greeted us as we came back. They cheered as they saw me, especially.

"They're happy because you chose them instead of your mate." I gasped and looked at Marcus.

"I didn't choose anyone. I came here because his inner wolf has come out and he has made it clear that he isn't going to stop being a monster. I came here because one, I wanted to come home for a while, and two, I needed to get away from there. I love it down here, but I also love it up there. I will return to Russia when things have calmed down. Until then, I need to be in an area where I can be alone when my heat acts up." I rubbed my arms nervously. Marcus seemed nervous about that as well. We continued going farther into the trench. I smiled at everyone and laughed at the children playing. They were swimming quickly and accidentally bumped into me.

"Oof!" One flew backward and the other fell into me. I giggled as they scurried to get up.

"Sorry, Princess Amorelli..." They looked down in shame.

"You two were just playing. It's okay!" They smiled at me and swam back to their home. We made it into the palace. It was beautiful. There were people all around the main area. All of the colors were beautiful. I swam up to different parts of the ceiling. The palace and other buildings were built into the trench, not in the trench itself.

"Come on, you can look around later. Right now, we need to show you where your room is." I nodded and followed Sebastian. I started to feel weird and saw some guys stare at me strangely. My brother got in front of me defensively.

"Look, it's that weird girl who is mated to that werewolf guy. Can you believe it? What a pathetic crossbreed. Like he couldn't even be a human. It's a werewolf." This one girl and her friend group laughed. There was this one girl though, who didn't laugh at all and gave them a rude look. She looked at me and smiled sadly. I smiled in return and felt my eyes go dark gray. I stepped in front of my brother and they all felt my aura.

"She can't possibly be the Princess." The same girl chimed in.

"Dude, she has the colors of the royal family... She's the princess..." A guy said and then everyone backed away from her. I looked at a guard that was watching and his eyes turned black. He had his weapon ready.

"Kill her." He started to make his way towards her. She was getting scared. I looked at two more guards and their eyes turned black.

"Hold her. Make sure she doesn't get away." They immediately went over to her and held her down so that she couldn't get away. She screamed and the guard with the weapon finally reached her and raised his weapon.

"Stop," I commanded just that one guard with the weapon to stop. I swam towards her and she looked terrified.

"If you ever, disrespect me that way again, I will kill you. Understand?" She nodded quickly. I turned to the guards that were holding her.

"Let go." Their eyes went back to normal colors and they looked a bit worried. The girl swam away and her friends followed her. I groaned in pain and looked at Sebastian.

"Take me to my quarters, now!" He went quickly and I was right behind him. He showed me my bedroom door and I opened it and locked the door. Thank god I had a window that also locked and had shades. I looked around my room. I saw a button where I could change my room from filling with water, to empty and I'd be able to turn into a human. I pressed the button and quickly went into the bathroom. The room started to drain and I waited in the tub. When it all drained I quickly turned on the shower and let myself turn back into a human. I sighed and dried off.

One thing I forgot about was that my heat was still here, and I'm no longer in water. I felt the pain of not having my mate near me. I winced in pain and fell onto my bed. I thought of him and what would happen if he were here.

"Amorelli!" I jumped and sighed.

"Yes, Alistair?"

"What the fuck is wrong with you! How dare you leave me!"

"I had to Alistair! I had to get home!"

"You're home is here with me!" I scoffed.

"You don't even care about me! Why do you care if I'm there or not?"

"Because you're mine! And you're on your heat! How dare you put yourself in danger!" I could feel his anger. I entered his mind while his guard was down. I put my image there and I put him next to me.

I was setting an event that I knew would happen.

In his mind, he growled and pulled me close. This was also calming my heat in real life, so this was working out perfectly.

'Meet me at the house, now.' With that, he pushed me out of his mind and I was left on my bed, a shaking and sweaty mess. I pressed the button to unlock my room and to put the water back in. I rushed to get out of the palace, swimming faster than I ever have.

"Amorelli? Where are you going?" I heard Lyle call out to me.

"I'll be back soon, I promise. I want to swim out there more." And with that, I left. I saw a few dolphins as I was leaving and commanded them to take me to shore as fast as they could.

I woke up and felt something was off. Probably this damn meeting. I showered and got into the conference room at eight. I sat down and we all started to talk.

"Okay, so we know when you girls escaped, you both were in New Delhi. Therefore, the area is very close to there. We might have to take the two of you back there to have you remember, and it will be dangerous, but it will work." The Amazonian family inquired. I groaned internally and rubbed my head.

"That could work, but we need to train our troops more for hands-on combat with weapons and not powers." The Spaniard joined in. I nodded in approval.

"We would also need everyone's cooperation, enemies or not. These are our children we're talking about. After all of this, we can talk about being allies. But if we can't cooperate after this then we'll need to go to war." The emperor chimed in. I groaned in pain. Mordikai was trying to make his way back to the top. I can't let this happen. I needed to stay around. He isn't suitable enough to take care of Amorelli. Only I can do it. I growled lowly, proceeding to hold my head.

"Alpha, is everything alright?" They were all staring at me with concern.

"Mordikai is trying to surface, isn't he?" I growled louder. They all got the point not to disturb me. And for the next few hours, that is what we did. We talked until ten-fifty. When the meeting ended, they all started to take their leave. They had decided to go home and train their troops for two to four weeks, maybe even longer. I immediately stood and made my way to the hospital. I went to Amorelli's room and found the empty bed and the note.

'Alistair,

I know you don't care about me, and that's alright. All that matters is that Mordikai and Comrade love me. I've decided that I need to go home for a while. Maybe a couple of days to a week. I just need to be alone. I am aware that I am still on my heat, therefore, I will be extra careful while I am away. Since I'll be in the trench the entire time, the water should help regulate my temperature and heat.

I will be back, Alistair. I know you do not approve of me calling you by your name, but I don't feel comfortable calling you anything else. We are mates, please do not think I am rejecting you, or leaving you. I'm leaving to be with my family for a while. I don't know what I feel towards you. And I know you will be furious when you find out I'm gone. Even more so because you know that you can not enter, that only merpeople can enter our home. I apologize again, Alistair. I'm not trying to hurt you. But you need to understand that you can't be rude and tough all the time.

I know you have a heart, Alistair. Don't try and hide that from me. I understand that you have to be tough and rude and protective because I'm one, on my heat, and two, it's the only way you can get the respect you deserve. But you need to understand I will never respect you or love you if you continue to treat me this way. I need to be treated with respect myself if I am to give it back.

I know this isn't the proper way to say farewell, but I need to leave. You have hurt me too much ever since you came out. And I don't know if I can handle you acting the way you are. And I know you do not love me, but I know Comrade and Mordikai do. And you know what, that's all that fucking matters. There's a reason why inner wolves don't come out often, at all even. Learn to love and maybe you'll come out more. I don't know, and I don't care anymore.

I roared in anger and shifted into my wolf. I went on a rampage. How dare she leave me! She will regret this!

"Amorelli!" I roared in her mind.

"Yes, Alistair?"

"What the fuck is wrong with you! How dare you leave me!"

"I had to Alistair! I had to get home!"

"You're home is here with me!" She scoffed.

"You don't even care about me! Why do you care!" I felt a pang of hurt and a wave of anger.

"Because you're mine! And you're on your heat! How dare you put yourself in danger!" I couldn't feel anything but anger and rage. She will pay for leaving me, thinking she could get away with it. I then felt her intrude on my mind and set up an image.

I heard dolphins in the distance and saw they were helping Amorelli get to the shore. I growled and shifted into my wolf and ran to the shore. They left her on the shore and went back into the water.
