《Tales of a lonely op girl and an evil op demon》Chapter 3

‘Forget it’ Elsa decided. ‘Grassy is a lifesaving helpful gift. I shouldn’t threw it away. My mood will turn to normal, I hope.’
‘Oh I forgot the real reason I came near the river. I am thirsty.’ She poured river water in her hands and drank it. The water was not hot, not cold and not tasty. But it is the best she had ever drank.
After drinking her mood started to stabilize. She felt a little better. She is also felling exhausted. She repeatedly gape several yawns. She likes yawning.
Now she is feeling sleepy. Should she sleep? How can she sleep in a forest? She need to go to east to join the great magic academia. But she doesn’t know where east is. It is night time. So it is hard to tell where is east.
‘Since I can’t travel at the moment anyway, I should just sleep here. If any wild animals come here while I am sleeping and eat me, then so be it.’
Her eyelashes is getting heavy. She closed her eyes and instantly fell asleep.
When she woke up in the morning she saw a small creature lazily floating around near her head. She rubbed her eyes at look at it again. It was a miniature size girl with beautiful wings. It is like a fairy.
“So you finally woke up. Stupid little girl. What kind of moron sleeps in a jungle without any kind of protection? If I hadn’t protected you, you would have been a digested dead meat.” The little fairy spoke. She is clearly angry.
“Thanks for the trouble. But who are you?” Elsa was curious
“I am Coney. I am the guardian fairy of this forest.”
“So you are really a fairy. I have read about fairies in books. But I Never thought I will meet one so soon. You are very cute and pretty.”
Coney blushed and was agitated. ”Shut up. Praises doesn’t make me happy. If you think you can get something from me by praising, you are dealing with the wrong person” Contradictory to her words, she looked pleased.
Laughing at her expressions Elsa asked, “How can I get out of the forest?”
“Figure it out on your own. The reason I saved you is because I am interested at the tattoo on your left hand. It seems strange. Show it to me.”

Elsa showed her left hand. Coney was excited and she started investigating it.
“It appears that a special kind of space magic was used in creating this tattoo. Space magic is so rare. Where did you get this tattoo and what is inside of it?” Coney asked.
Coney doesn’t seem like a bad person. So it is okay to show it to her. Elsa took out Grassy from the tattoo. Coney looked at this in awe. Then she was surprised. And then she started quivering.
“This..” She was struggling to organize her word, ”This is one of the three great heavenly treasure. I have never seen any of the three great treasure in my 300 years of life. It will give you incredible control over life and death and many magical and other abilities.”
Warning Elsa about the dangers she said, “But also there are terrible consequences of using it. If you can’t control yourself you will turn into a maniac and a mindless killing machine. And this is not even the worse. Also if words get out of you possessing this treasure you will never find peace. All the greedy eyes will lock onto you. You will be constantly on the run.”
First she felt happy that she has a rare super useful treasure. But as she continued listening to Coney’s words her worries grew higher and higher. She asked, “What should I do?”
Coney said, “You have to be careful how you use it. Also you have to hide it. If you walk with that tattoo on your hand any experienced eye will see something strange on you. And they may recognize it.”
Elsa sighed. “If only I had a treasure, which can hide it!”
“Hmph!” Coney gritted her teeth. “You think treasures grow on trees? But fortunately for you I have something that can completely hide your treasure.”
“Really?” Her eyes lit up. She said, “Hurry, give it to me.”
“Shut up.” Coney snubbed. “Why should I give you anything? Did you gave me anything? Don’t expect others to help you out of their kind-heartedness and pity. It doesn’t work in real life. What you can always expect to work on real life is people’s self-interest.”
Elsa understood. “So you want something from me in return for your help?”

“Naturally” Coney replied. “I can’t go outside the territory of this river. Help me find something in the forest and I will give you a pair of magical gloves which can conceal your treasure and be useful in many other ways.”
“What do I have to find?” Elsa asked.
“There is a den of a giant snake at the western side of the forest. In that den there is a small wooden box. I need it. Here take this compass. It will guide you there.”
Elsa was scared. “But I am scared of snakes.”
“Don’t worry. Someone like you will usually end up dead at that place, but since you have that treasure you have a little hope of coming out of there alive. So will you do it or not?”
Gathering up all of her courage she replied, “Okay I will do it. But you will give me the magical gloves after that.”
“Sure. I promise.” Then Coney gave her a magical compass and some instructions on how to go there.
Filled with fear and anticipation Elsa headed towards the shakes den.
‘I have Grassy with me. I will be fine. Even that big black bear was no match for her. I have nothing to worry about.’ She continued to assure herself. But no matter how many times she assured herself fear continued to fill her heart. Her legs don’t want to move. But she made it move.
After walking for two hours she reached the cave. On the way she didn’t encounter any animals. There is a big hole few foot away from her. She has to enter it.
‘Calm down. I have Grassy. Everything will be okay.’ She silently walked near the hole.
‘Is the snake inside of it?’ Her instinct told her that the den was empty.
All of a sudden thoughts started racing in her mind. Her heart was beating faster. She felt incredible excitement and incredible energy. She felt like she can beat the snake bare handed if she meet it now. She jumped at the hole.
‘It’s not good. I am going nuts again.’ Even though she knows she is going crazy she can’t do anything about it. Actually she don’t want to do anything about it. It feels so good and refreshing.
She started looking for the box. The den was dark. But thanks to her bear senses, she can see. She saw the wooden box. She went near it. As soon as she took it and put it inside the pendant the hole started shacking. She heard a big ‘hiss’. A giant snake came in the hole. It was charging at her.
Elsa was in her wild state. She grew her bear claws. “So you finally came, you ignorant snake. Know how it feels like to face the magic queen.”
She also charged at the snake and started striking it blindly. It did little damage to the snake. The snake quickly warped her up and started squeezing her. She can’t breathe.
At this moment she came back to her senses. She started panicking. ‘Not good. I am going to die. I have to use Grassy.’ She is wishing that Grassy will activate now and save her.
But it didn’t activate. Her bones are breaking. She could hear the breaking noise of her ribs. Blood was coming from her mouth. Her face was turning blue. She is in so much pain. She is losing consciousness.
She doesn’t know how long she is going to suffer. She is wishing it to end. A giant snake is squeezing her and she has no way to retaliate by herself. That’s what happens when one overestimate herself.
No, she didn’t overestimate herself. She wasn’t relying on herself at all. She was relying on Grassy all the time. Self loathe filled her heart.
‘Why did I started my journey? To become a strong magician myself. But on the first day of my journey I completely forget about myself and started relying on a treasure which I don’t even know much about. Those who know when to fight and when not will be victorious. If I had relied on myself than I would have known that this is a fight that I can’t fight. No point in complaining now.’
Thinking this her heart calmed down. She resolved to do something with her own power. That away even if she died, she will die with some dignity.
‘Now, what is the weakness of a snake?’ She asked herself.
