Chapter six
In a certain village that was locate on the southern regions of the shaz-daf desert, a large crowd of thugs and ruffians had gathered. Despite of the sweltering heat all of them were shouting and cheering at the top of their lungs, as they encircled what seemed like a makeshift stage.
On top of the stage, two bare chested men could be seen engaged in a ferocious battle.
Both of them were covered in scratches and bruises, wielding weapons that were significantly worn out and covered in blood. It suggested that this was definitely not their first battle on the stage.
On one end of the stage, there was a slightly raised platform on top of which sat a dark skinned man with a slight potbelly. He had a pair of servants assigned to serve him alcohol as he watched the fight.
` HAA ! ' with a hot blooded roar, one of the individuals on the stage raised his weapon and charged towards his opponent. His large stature caused the earth to slightly tremble as he ran and the weapon held in his muscular hands unleashed a barrage of powerful attacks.
As expected, his opponent was forced to retreat as he defended himself with great difficulty. Sweat covered his chest as his muscle's strained to hold up against the heavy attacks. Yet even now, his eyes were analyzing the situation carefully underneath his busy brows.
" Hahaha ! , what's wrong Vanab ! " The giant shouted arrogantly as he provoked his enemy " Ready to forfeit your title as well as your life !! "
The crowd cheered even harder, pleased with the blood filled entertainment before them. They threw in insults and jeers as the atmosphere grew more brutal.
" Ah, dear Kosa " The man named ` Vanab ' that seemed to be on the losing hand, slowly stood up and spat on the ground " After all this time, you're still a f*cking retard ! ."

Towards the end of his sentence, Vanab defeated figure could be seen standing straight once more. He was now brimming with energy as he patted away the dirt on his shoulders.
" I wasn't losing, just testing the waters, dumb*ss "
The brute, Kosa definitely felt the changes in his opponent as his pupils constricted.
To have lived through enough battles to allow him to challenge one of the elite members of the gang in a fight for his position, he had obviously accumulated decent fighter instincts.
And right now his instincts were telling him that he had underestimated the man known as Vanab.
" Whatever ! you're still going to drop dead before me ! " Suppressing the worry in his heart, Kosa roared out loud.
Throwing caution to the wind, he clutched his weapon tightly and charged straight at Vanab. Using his larger build to his advantage, he brought down his blade at him with his all his strength.
The crowd held their breath as they watched expectantly. The dark skinned man was also watching with greater attention.
However , his opponent Vanab smirked as he thought ` this guy really never uses his mind in a fight '. He had already spent time to learn the pattern of the moves executed by his opponent in the beginning. Now to predict this move was really not that hard.
As the weapon drew closer, Vanab merely moved with great reflexes and dodged the attack swiftly.
Realizing that his attack did not reach his opponent, Kosa was momentarily flustered as his body was pulled down by his own weight.
Seizing the opportunity, Vanab closed in and his cold blade cut into the soft flesh.
In one clean move, he cleanly decapitated Kosa's head from his body.
Instantly blood sprayed out of the open neck, dying the ground in a beautiful and exquisite crimson pattern.

The crowd went silent for a moment, as if properly digesting the final outcome presented to them before instantly cheering once more.
VANAB ! VANAB ! VANAB !
A crazed delight could be seen in the eyes of the crowd as they thoroughly enjoyed the brutality and violence. After all, most of them were already thieves and murderer's that had their own hands stained with blood as well.
The person in question was basking in full glory as he ruthlessly kicked the detached head of his former opponent a few times.
His heart filled with arrogance and conceit as he thought ` Served that b*stard right for trying to usurp my position ' He, Vanab, was one of the strongest fighters in the Desert Wolves bandits that was lead by the dark skinned man.
It was then that an alarm suddenly blared with great intensity in his mind, warning him of mortal danger. All of his muscles tensed up once more as he searched frantically for the source of his worries.
` Whiz ' The air was split apart as an object traveled through it with extreme speed. It descended from the skies like wrath of true dragon approaching mortals.
As the crowed was focused in celebrating the outcome of the fight, they failed to notice, an arrow arrive and piercing Vanab's skull and lodge itself on to the ground.
' What just happe- ' Vanab failed to continue his last thought as he fell dead on the ground. And just like that one of the strongest fighters among the Desert Wolves was killed.
" Hey look ! " it wasn't long before some observant people among the crowd noticed this catastrophe. Instantly panic and shock spread like turbulent waves among the crowd, knocking them into silence.
" Oh sh*t !. who did that "
" And in front of the Master " People started to secretly stare at the dark skinned man on the platform whose man had just been killed with no consideration before him.
" Hahaha ! " suddenly a bold laughter erupted seizing everyone's attention " Desert Wolves, more like stray dogs ! "
The turned towards the direction of the ridicule and subconsciously opened up a path as a dozen black cloaked men walked into the scene.

Recruit - An Infinite Labyrinth prequel
A prequel to The Infinite Labyrinth. The year is 1816. The British Empire is in full swing, under the auspices of King George III. The Infinite Labyrinth has been pouring out its product from beyond our reality and fostered a new industrial revolution. Times are changing, and the people of London are feeling the winds of the revolution while British Professionals push into the Labyrinth. The newly formed Artefact Hunting Company is looking for recruits, and they have new technology to help them. From the slums of London, they aim to recruit a new wave of Professionals. And make Zacharias and the Earl of Carnavon lots of money. So, for Rowan Rivers and a handful of lucky ones, it's time to head into the Labyrinth, and discover what makes it different from England. And what makes THEM different? Recruit is a bunch of chapters I wrote to create to the setting, mood, and game systems of the Infinite Labyrinth. It is NOT a complete story in the classic sense. It's more of a slice of life view of early days of a normal Professional from the Infinite Labyrinth, and it's heavy on info-dump. It's 90% canon - there's probably a bit of a difference between how some characters and common behaviour are portrayed here and how they'll come out in the main story. Set two years before the events that kick-start the main series, it features some of the secondary/peripheral characters of the Infinite Labyrinth and will tell you all about the basic mechanics of the Labyrinth's RPG system. It can be considered a spoiler, as the characters in the Infinite Labyrinth are going to need to figure out all that, on their own. But if you like a much deeper exposition in the mechanics, here it is. The entire prequel is about 80 pages long.

Art of Mortality
New Synopsis after chapter 56: Long long ago, there was a mortal who despised the gods and envied the immortals. Why do the mortals have to die when the gods wish them to? Why do worlds have to perish when the gods say so? Why do only immortals get to live forever, why not mortals like him? As his family, friends, and his loved one died, he lamented. He wailed, he cried. He cursed the immortals, blasphemed the gods, spat at the heavens. But he was just a mere mortal. His curses were pointless, his blasphemous words were useless, and his spits only returned back to fall on his face. At last, he thought, enough was enough, he would definitely do something about it. He decided that it was time for the multiverse to know what a mortal can do. He was the first mortal to cultivate. Eventually, after a long struggle, he killed the Immortals, enslaved the Gods, and shattered the heavens. He reshaped the multiverse and rewrote his fate. In the end, he reincarnated as he decided upon a grand scheme, a scheme to rule 'All and Always'. He came up with the concept of what is known today as 'Paragon'. And with this, all of reality, 'All and Always', was finally reforming, according to a Mortal's Wish. Synopsis (Old): In the vast and complex multiverse, what can a mortal accomplish? In the grand scheme of things, what can a mortal change? In truth, what is a mortal, and what is mortality? Being mortal is being ordinary, the same as being trash, or so says The World. "No, mortality is an art, and a true mortal is a grand artist. Being the root of all, a mortal can become anything.", says a young mortal boy. Meet Edward Alexander, a mortal boy walking the path against gods and immortals, fighting to the end to rewrite his destiny, and change the grand scheme of things. Can he really change the grand scheme of things? Or maybe he himself is the Grand Schemer? To know the answer, follow Edward Alexnder on his journey to demonstrate the Art of Mortality.*******

So I've got a lot to say: This is a slowly progressing romance, Dazai x reader of course! Oops spoiler (๑>◡Also, I'm focusing more on the plot/ character development for the time being, so don't expect too much mushy stuff. (I don't paragraph space between quotes in fan fictions or else it would be waaaay too long because I tend to write a lot... so all you grammar nazis, just know I did this intentionally)I had a lot of fun writing it, so I hope you like it!
