《The Last Player》Chapter 5

At a street in the middle of the city
Allen walked while looking at the screen of his cellphone. for 30 years many things have changed, skyscraper towers or islands in the sky today are still a design and have not been fully realized
but seeing cities that still have lots of flowers, parks and forests on the hills makes Allen feel this is better
the people of his time were getting more corrupted. cutting down trees to make more advanced urban or industrial land. although it sounds amazing and very futuristic, it's actually not that spectacular.
sometimes Allen thinks, a progress of civilization does not always have a good impact. sometimes development will even displace something in the past. like 30 years from now, forests are very rare and in fact almost 70% of the world's forests are special forests created to maintain oxygen supplies
but there is still time before that happens, Allen wonders whether by himself can he change not only the world of Creatia, but also the real world?
...
but soon, Allen stopped in front of a building that said 'Barber 70 star'.
Ting...
the bell rings as someone enters through the front door. that person is Allen, wearing a black T-shirt that Ye shin gave him when he was a good girl.
"hello, good morning. would you like to get your hair cut?" From within the room, a young woman in her early twenties came and greeted Allen
"Yes, I want to change my appearance. Can you do that?" Allen asked. he didn't come to any place, this barbershop was the place where he had his hair cut before.
When he was in a slump because of yesterday's incident, he decided to completely change himself. his previous appearance looked like a geeky boy with clothes that always looked neat, his kind attitude also made him take advantage of those around him

I wonder what he will become after changing himself?
"Okay, please have a seat"
guiding Allen, the woman then began to shave Allen's hair who was sitting neatly.
--
30 mins later
"It's done! I didn't expect it to turn out like this" The woman looked happy when she saw Allen's new look
Her previously straight hair was now changed to slightly wavy and neatly arranged. because of Allen's good face and body proportions, he looks very suitable with his new look
'This is just me..' Allen unconsciously smiled
"Can I take a photo?" The woman asked, this is the best work as long as she learns to be a hairdresser. maybe he could display it for promotion...
"of course.."
-
"thank you for visiting! come again next time~" the woman waved her hand to Allen who walked out of the barbershop
'Gesila, an Endrophi company owner waved his hand at me...' Allen snorted, not believing what he was seeing.
like Allen said. The woman's name is Gesila, although she now only has a barbershop business, but in the next 20 years she will turn into a different person.
an ambitious woman known as cold rose for her beauty and cold yet dignified personality. he started his career when Creatia began to steal the public's attention, he also has another nickname, 'Moon Witch' because he has a rare secret job/class as well as his very great magic and skill.
Allen had previously befriended him at the start of the game, but after they chose different paths. they never met again until the closing of Creatia
"Then the next destination..." Allen looked at his cellphone screen once again. but this time he took a taxi by the side of the road and headed south.
A few minutes later, Allen got out of the taxi, paid and started walking into the bank building in front of him

Upon entering, Allen could see a fairly long line, but after waiting in line for a few minutes he finally got his turn
"Hello sir, is there anything I can help you with?" The female administrator greeted Allen gently
"I want to borrow money" Allen replied
"Can you give me the account book and the amount you want to borrow?"
but unexpectedly, Allen opened his mouth and answered again with
"I want to borrow 10,000 credits"
While saying 10,000 credits, the people around were shocked to look at Allen in surprise.
10,000 credits are enough to buy 1 car nowadays... but this young man wants to borrow that much..
"Is he a businessman?"
"I thought so, don't those businessmen always borrow a lot of money and make big profits from it?"
"You're right, they are the ones who bet"
what people say is true. Allen is running his business at the moment. he planned to invest all his money to buy the God crown's stock and sell it in the future.
but the amount he can borrow is very limited because there is a limit of only 10,000 credits for someone without a strong background as the guarantee
and also to borrow elsewhere, all the world's banks are connected. they will see Allen's actions unnaturally, especially when he suddenly makes huge profits when God crown's stock rises drastically
but for now, that's enough. because the biggest income is not from selling shares, but from creatia In-game!
the creatia system is considered very unique among gamers. usually a game, especially a big project game like Creatia, will look for big profits from their game such as a top up system or in-game purchases which are usually done by many games.
but Creatia is different. there are no payments made by players to developers and even they provide freedom of transactions such as auctions in-game or even online markets to sell game item using real money
In the past Allen recalled that there was a guild selling their town for 1.000.000 credits and this shocked the world.
what do people who buy it think? this is just a game, will it be profitable?
but their guess is wrong. a few years later the guild that bought the town managed to raise their town into a small kingdom, monopolizing the dungeons and trade in their territory and making a profit of more than 10x their capital.
This is the madness of today's gaming world.
After receiving the money in his account, Allen didn't think about it when he chose to deposit most of his money to buy God crown stock. and the rest he will use for daily life
"Since I'm free, how about going around?" After all his business was done Allen then walked out of the bank and looked at the maps on his cellphone, he then remembered something. a dojo today is considered stupid. who wants to learn self-defense when people are competing to jump into this world that advanced in technology?
that's how people reacted before Creatia's release. Allen remembers a dojo in this city called the Nine Dragons Dojo. although it sounds weird but this dojo was the largest dojo at Asia in the future, although at this time it seems that this dojo is still under development.

Sexy Sect Babes
“One in a billion.” Jack kept repeating the mantra in his head. “One in a billion.” That was the number the Omni-Corps liked to cite whenever someone stepped onto one trans-mat pad and then simply… never stepped off the other. “Safer than a car,” he repeated as he slogged through the snow, his mining overalls doing at least a passable job of keeping out the cold as he brushed aside a tree branch. “Safer than a plane. Or a starship. Safest form of transport in the Star League.” He slammed his fist into a nearby tree, exo-empowered strength shattering it into little more than scattered bark and kindling. “Yeah, well I never heard of a car ride stranding some prick in another dimension!” He roared, his voice echoing through the seemingly endless forest around him. Then he kept marching. He’d seen the fire off in the distance. And given all the snow around, he sincerely doubted it was natural. Which left the unnatural. Which meant people. He hoped. Because even if the trans-mat had screwed up, he doubted it had dumped him too far off the central finite curve. The fact that the air was breathable and that he could recognize the trees around him as oak told him that much. And if the dimension he was in had trees native to Earth, chances are it would have animals too. Of which humans would hopefully be no exception. “Because I’ll be damned if I spend the rest of my days talking to goddamn squirrels.” No, if there were humans on this mudball, he was going to find them. One way or another.

BODY&SHADOW
AN ILLUSTRATED NOVEL • UPDATES TUESDAY AND FRIDAY In a time before living memory, the King Dragon of the Void watched the world and realized there was a crack. He realized that humanity was destroying the rock upon which they lived; they leaked life’s code into the churning chaos. At first the change was imperceptible: nanites overtook microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, amoebas. Insects became increasingly inorganic; birds and lizards followed soon after. Even humans were infected by their own advances, cell by cell, till there was not a person left on earth who wasn’t at least part synthetic, the product of a prior generation’s carelessness. The world’s population was ravaged by mechanical viruses with no vaccines; they were mercilessly overtaken by bacteria that knew no death. Soon, most of the planet was empty and only a handful remained who remembered the hedonist realm they came from; only a few were left who remembered what the world looked like when their buildings touched the sky. The King Dragon of the Void watched the rock turn. He watched humans cower as the Old World fell down around them; watched their great monuments crumble into dusty ruins; watched their codes become precious, ancient gem memories forged under the crushing pressure of so many fallen stones. The world has spun many times around the sun since chaos swallowed man whole. It is a simpler time than the one that died out, but the people now are not immune to the folly of the people before. There is old code everywhere: in the water, in the air, in the trees. The heart of man has been replaced by power cores, many of which are hard-coded with preternatural abilities—when they die, an esoteric mountain sect collects their cores and stores them in their hollow mountain home to preserve the sanctity and dignity of human death. They’ve learned to harness artifacts of the old world, gemstones full of codes their nanite infused bodies can parse as spells imbuing their users with great power; they inlay them into their bodies, into their skins, connected to their cores by copper conduit and gold tracers; they dress themselves in tattoos to advertise their prowess; they battle for relics in arenas, fight for them in the open world wherever they are found. The King Dragon of the Void watches the rock turn and wonders: when will this hunger finally make the rock stop spinning? WELCOME TO FANXING CITY … Twenty-five years ago, Fanxing City and the surrounding lands were commanded by the mad King Zao Beiguan. For many years, the King hoarded wealth, artifacts, food; he demanded tribute from a people already taxed to the edges of their existence and expected they be happy with their circumstances. Noncompliance was often punished harshly, bodies displayed proudly on Fanxing’s streets as a warning, from the city gates to the Zao palace’s golden doors. The youths of several prominent clans came together to overthrow the tyrant and made names for themselves as legendary heroes across the land: Tian, Ren, Feng, Gui, Ma, and Zhenxi. Even wanderers from the Luanshi sect descended from Yunji mountain to aid the rebellion. When the dust settled after three years, Tian Yunyong ascended the throne of Fanxing and swore to honour his slain father’s memory, and has maintained Fanxing’s peace with generosity and mercy where fear and cruelty once reigned.
