《fall into darkness》Chapter 30: God's Blessing

After a while, everyone came together, and there were hundreds of neat figures standing on the school grounds.
Tuobu said "Wait a minute, everyone" to the eight well-behaved adults, and came to the front of the crowd, with a rare smile on his cold face, and said: "First of all, congratulations, you finally stood out from the garbage and became a A qualified warrior! However, the real test begins now, and from now on, you will leave this warm cradle and face the real life and death!"
Everyone was stunned for a moment, and some did not understand the meaning of Tuobu's words.
Du Di'an's eyes flashed slightly, knowing that he was going to announce the identity of the scavenger.
As he expected, Taub looked at everyone's puzzled expressions, and said loudly: "From the moment you graduate, you will get a new identity, but not the 'guards' you think, but the 'scavengers'! "
"Scavengers?" Everyone looked at each other.
"I know that many people hear this position for the first time." Tob said slowly: "Let me be blunt. In terms of rank, scavengers are higher than guards and the same rank as knights. But , the knights are loyal to the legions and nobles, in my opinion, they are just a group of white faces, and the scavengers are the warriors who truly create wealth and defend mankind!"
Everyone's eyes widened.
On the same level as a knight?
What a distinguished identity this is!
Suddenly, everyone felt like they were dreaming. They didn't expect that three years of hard work and perseverance would be so rewarding!
Looking at the excitement and excitement on everyone's faces, Taub calmly said: "However, the difference between scavengers and knights is that one is in the dark and the other is in the light. In short, the scavengers are the heroes behind the scenes! From today on, The identities of your scavengers, even your parents and lovers, cannot be revealed, this is a military secret!"
"Outside, we will give you the identity of the guards to cover up."

"After you have accumulated enough military merit, you will be eligible for permanent residence in the business district."
Hearing Tuobu's words, everyone's eyes lit up. Living in the commercial area is the wish of almost every civilian in the residential area!
"Instructor, what is the job of a scavenger?" At this moment, a dark-skinned teenager in the crowd raised his hand.
Tuobu said indifferently: "Your job is to go to the safe area outside the giant wall, collect all the information and resources outside the giant wall, and bring it back here!"
All the children were in an uproar, and only then did they realize that there is no free lunch in the world. Although no one has seen the world outside the giant wall, the thoughts that have been cultivated since childhood are deeply ingrained in their hearts, and they are full of great reverence for the outside of the giant wall.
Now, they have to step out of the giant wall and go to that forbidden area.
"Instructor, can you quit?" Someone raised his hand weakly.
Tuobu said indifferently: "Yes, I will send consolation money to your family in the name of 'death in the line'."
Everyone felt a chill in their hearts, this is a position with no choice!
"You don't have to worry, although the outside of the giant wall is very dangerous, we will not waste three years of resources to cultivate some cannon fodder. The places where you work are all swept safe areas. As long as you are careful, there will be no danger. The mortality rate of scavengers is not high." Tuobu looked around the crowd and said, "Also, when you go outside the giant wall, you will be blessed by God."
"God's blessing?" Everyone was stunned.
Du Di'an couldn't help but raise his eyebrows.
Tuobu pointed at the eight figures next to him with his palm, and said, "These eight are representatives of the seven major consortiums in the business district and the military. You can choose to join any of them. From now on, you will serve in the consortium or the military you choose. Military, the resources you collect from outside the giant wall can be exchanged for huge wealth. I remember that there was once a scavenger who picked up a strange object outside the giant wall, obtained 100,000 gold coins, and became a huge wealth. !"

Everyone was shocked, 100,000 gold coins? This is simply a wealth they can't even imagine!
Du Di'an's eyes flickered slightly. He didn't expect that the scavengers could get a commission from the things they picked up. In this way, it seems to be a good career to get rich, but the easier it is to get rich, the more risky it is.
At this time, the eight men and women came to the front of the crowd, and a black leather-armored youth on the left said with a smile: "I represent the military, this is the contract reward we gave, all those who join our military, ten years later, All will be eligible to live in the commercial district.”
"We are the Sterling Consortium, we can provide occupancy qualifications in commercial areas, as well as houses in prosperous areas, and our commission is 10%..." Another graceful woman smiled.
Others also spoke one after another, introducing the treatment of their consortium.
Du Di'an understands a little, Tuobu is just a training center, all the children selected from the residential area will be sent here for collective training, and the force behind this training center is these seven consortia and the military!
Relying on the military alone, it is still impossible to forcefully recruit students from various colleges in the residential area and enter the special training ground for scavengers. After all, some colleges were founded by nobles or under the banner of a certain consortium.
What surprised him was that there was no intervention from the Holy See of Light.
At this time, other children have come to the representatives of various consortiums and the military to choose their future path. The conditions given by these consortiums are all the same. Because they compete with each other, the benefits given are not much different.
"Dean, let's choose the same consortium," Macon said.
Du Dian nodded slightly.
Sham asked, "Are we picking the military or the consortium?"
"You go and see the conditions they gave first." Du Dian said, came to Tuobu, and said: "Instructor, can all the consortiums and the military not be selected?"
Tuobu looked down at him. He was very impressed by this child. Whether it was the tenacious endurance training when he first arrived, or the rapid progress afterward, as well as every major test in the past three years, the performance of this child made him impress him. At this moment He smiled slightly and said, "If you don't choose, you will quit. You have good qualifications. I believe you can get ahead among the scavengers and take advantage of the opportunity." Having said this, he paused and said, "I can personally give you one. It is suggested that the Mellon consortium has great potential."
Du Dian was a little surprised, but he didn't expect that what he recommended was not the military, but a consortium.
Seeing Taub turned and left, he didn't chase after him to ask. At this time, Sham, Macon, and Zach came back, and Sham said: "I saw that the conditions are similar, and the military is the best in all aspects, but The materials picked up are not high enough to extract, and the conditions given by these consortiums vary from person to person. I just saw that Rorian joined the Sterling Consortium, and the other party actually gave a 15% extraction fee, and, What about getting God's blessing once a month!"
"what!!"
Just then, a low growl sounded in vain.
Everyone couldn't help but look, and saw a young man standing in front of the graceful woman who represented the Sterling Consortium, with a face full of pain, hugging his head and roaring, with bulging veins on his face and shoulders, extremely hideous.

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.

The Summoned - Complete
In a world of magic, ruled by many warring races, the human kingdoms are being pushed to the brink of collapse. In a desperate bid to gain the strength to stand on an equal footing with the other nations, they perform a forbidden ritual to summon combat slaves from another dimension. Unluckily for them, Mors Letus, recently named by their world's God of Death, was one of them. **** Warning **** This is a re-release (The Summoned) of the first book I wrote in partnership with my brother (who later forced the story to be pulled (It was released on his account here)). I have started writing my own version of the story (BOM: The Summoned) and will continue to primarily invest in that, though, now I have permission to re-release this one, I plan finish this as I have the drafts and it was close to the end of the first book. Many characters/scenes and events match/Will match BOM: The Summoned, especially in future arc's (Past Flatner forest). If you don't like spoilers, don't want to get confused between the two stories or hate first attempts at writing (god awful grammar/sentence structure and storytelling), I would advise against reading.
