《fall into darkness》Chapter Thirty-Five: Jenny

Du Dian was a little moved. The monthly salary of the knights is not low. It is estimated that it is more than the combined monthly salary of the Jules couple. The most important thing is that he can be named in the establishment of the Lane family as a knight. This identity alone , can make the vast majority of civilians look up.
However, he did not agree immediately. He understood that the higher the reward, the more dangerous it would be to scavenge waste outside the giant wall. Although he heard from the Fino that they only scavenge waste in the safe areas swept by hunters, it is impossible to guarantee that there will be no waste. Other dangers, otherwise, would not have such high returns.
"I'll consider this matter." Du Dian pondered.
Flynn Lane smiled and said: "When you think about it, you are welcome to join at any time. In addition, you probably haven't found a place to live during this time. If you don't mind, there are still a few vacant houses in our Lane family's house. ."
Du Di'an politely declined: "Thank you for your kindness. I will go on a mission in seven days. During this time, I will go home to visit my parents, and I will not live in the commercial area for the time being."
"Well, if you need anything in the future, just come to me."
"I will."
After the conversation, Flynn Lane left and went to the center of the banquet to chat with other nobles.
Not long after Flynn Lane left, several nobles found Du Di'an one after another and negotiated with him, but the conditions proposed were not much different from Flynn Lane, and they were all declined by Du Di'an one by one.
At this time, halfway through the banquet, the melodious music stopped suddenly, a loud applause came, and all the nobles in the hall who were chatting or eating and drinking looked over.
The one who clapped was a middle-aged aristocrat of about forty years old, with a sturdy figure and a full stomach. He saw everyone's eyes gathered, with a gentle gentleman's smile on his face, and said, "Welcome everyone to participate in the establishment of the Mellon Consortium. The eighth party, I hope you have a good time, and today happens to be the birthday of the little girl Melshaya, I hope you can give the little girl a blessing, thank you!"

In his voice, behind a high platform in the center of the hall leading to the second floor, a girl in a dark red dress slowly walked out, about twelve or thirteen years old, with delicate cheeks and elegant dress, she stood there gracefully, Bowing slightly, he said, "I have seen you uncles and aunts."
There was a burst of warm applause from the nobles present.
Du Di's heart moved slightly. After he returned to the place of residence, he inquired about it. The Mellon consortium is composed of more than a dozen noble families of different sizes. Among them, there are only two nobles who have the right to speak up, but they are Mellon. family, and the Bloom family. And this girl is obviously a member of the Mel family. When he was in the Meishan orphanage, he had heard the name of this family.
Moreover, the Knight of Light who judged the alchemist in the desert three years ago, calling himself Melk, is obviously also a member of the Mel family.
From this, it can be seen how wide the influence of the Mel family is.
"This is a small gift prepared by our Bailan family for Miss Shaya..." At this time, a young man from the nobles said, holding a delicate red gift box in his hand, gently opened it, and inside was a pair of snow-white silk gloves. The workmanship is extremely refined.
Melshaya above the steps brightened her eyes and said, "This is the craftsmanship of Master Sydney, thank you, I like it very much."
The young man smiled and handed the gift box to the servant who came to receive the gift.
At this time, other nobles offered gifts one after another, along with congratulations.
"Miss Shaya." A young man in a tan gentleman's uniform in the crowd laughed, "I've always heard that you like poetry. I specially invited Master Teza to write a small poem, I hope you like it."
"Poetry?" Melshaya's eyes lit up, a little happy.
The young man smiled slightly, put on a shelf, and sang softly: "There are tears you shed on the stone, and those hesitant eyes are filled with that dusk, who leaked your inner sadness..."
After a while, he finished reading a poem and said, "This poem is called "The Sadness of a Young Girl", and it is given to Miss Shaya."

The audience immediately burst into warm applause, and some nobles applauded loudly on the spot.
A happy smile appeared on Melshaya's face, and she said, "As expected of Master Teza's poem, I like it very much, I am very moved, thank you!"
...
...
On the window sill, Du Dian listened to the cheers and felt a little helpless. He didn't bring anything on him. I hope those people will not notice him, so as not to get into unnecessary trouble again.
"It really doesn't work, just take out the poem that my sister used to read to fool it." Du Di'an thought to himself, and suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a figure running past in the manor outside the window sill. If you scold yourself for being an idiot, if you don't have anything to give, won't you sneak away first?
He looked at the nobles. At this moment, their attention was focused on the Mersaya above. It was a rare opportunity. He immediately opened the window and looked outside, which was about two meters high. Without hesitation, he turned over and jumped out like a nimble cat, landed lightly, then pulled down the window and quickly left along the path outside.
In order to avoid encountering the servants, Du Di'an went around to a more remote place. There were no lights here. At this moment, only the radiance of the stars and the moon shone on the flagstone path, surrounded by neatly trimmed ornamental trees. A small pavilion, I want to sit there, wait until the banquet is almost over, it will not be too late to go back, anyway, I am a small character and will not attract too much attention.
Shasha~!
Suddenly, there was the sound of leaves being shaken.
Du Di'an's face changed slightly, and he shouted: "Who!"
The surroundings were quiet, but Du Dian knew that it was definitely not the sound of wind blowing just now. After three years of scavenger training, if he could not distinguish the sound of objects and the wind touching leaves, he would have been eliminated in the practice exam.
"Come out, I know you are here!" Du Di'an said coldly.
It didn't take long for a slender figure to move out from behind a tree that was trimmed like a ball. Du Di'an looked at it in the moonlight, and was immediately stunned. It was a girl about his age, and, looking at the costume, it seemed to be exactly the same. The figure he had seen earlier.
Du Di'an breathed a sigh of relief and said: "Come out, I have no ill intentions, everyone is out to hide from the limelight, I will not go to inform, you'd better not to inform, otherwise it will not be good for everyone."
The girl was wearing a white floral gauze skirt. She was a little nervous at first. When she heard Du Di'an's words, she couldn't help but be surprised: "Hide from the limelight? You, didn't my father send me to tell me to go back?"
Knowing that she had misunderstood, Du Di'an shrugged: "Of course not, I don't even know you."
The girl looked at him and seemed to understand that she was thinking too much. She breathed a sigh of relief and patted her chest.
Du Di'an said angrily: "I can have any enemies, don't you all have no gifts, come out and avoid them."
"Ah?" The girl seemed to suspect that she had heard it wrong, and suddenly thought of something, she burst into a smile, and said, "Yes, which family are you from, don't you know it's Miss Mel's birthday today?"
"Don't you know?" Du Dian shrugged: "As for the identity, it's better to keep it a secret."
The girl walked along the slate to the pavilion, and immediately saw Du Dian's dress, and said in surprise: "You uniform, are you a scavenger?"
Du Dian suddenly turned black and said with a straight face: "Yes, but you'd better not go out and talk nonsense, and I won't talk about you, it's fair."
"I won't tell." The girl chuckled and said, "My name is Jenny, what's your name?"
Du Dian thought for a while and said, "Du Dian."
