Chapter 9
----------------------------------------------------
Adrian knew he had to make arrangements fast. He sent Drone to bring the Doctor back, since he was essential to his plan.
While Drone was away, Adrian decided to reluctantly summon his first Pokemon, Grimer.
[Come out, Grimer..]
The space in front of Adrian distorted as Grimer appeared. It looked at Adrian with eyes full of enthusiasm, since this was the first time it was called out by it's master Adrian himself.
It rushed towards Adrian to hug him, but Adrian jumped back & ordered,
[Hey YOU! Step back! Don't come closer. Stay right there.]
After making sure that the Grimer was some distance away, Adrian spoke,
[You want to be useful right? Then I'll give you a chance. But remember, if you fail, I would never call you out, understood?]
The Grimer dutifully nodded & replied,
Knowing that the Grimer would not be able to understand him completely, Adrian gave up and enquired,
[Then tell me, What is your level & stats. Also, what moves do you know?]
The Grimer nodded seriously and replied,
Adrian became shocked. He never expected this Grimer to have levelled up so fast.
(...how did it level up? I never called it out...)
[Why only those two moves though?]
The Grimer replied innocently,
Adrian now understood why this Pokemon was so avoided by Generation 1 players.
(...this shitty Pokemon! If I was not desperate, I would never call it...)
The stench coming over from the Grimer was crazily strong. Adrian had to pinch his nose while talking.
[Don't worry. Your natural ability is the one we would be using this time. You can use your moves as when required.]
Grimer simply nodded & replied,
Adrian then reverse summoned the Grimer & decided to rest until Drone came back. His head was feeling heavy as snot dripped down his nose.
----------------------------------------------
Upon Drone's arrival, Adrian told the Doctor about his intention to save his daughter. The Doctor became immensely happy as he thanked Adrian multiple times.

Adrian, however, noticed a few other things.
The Doctor's attitude, although servile, was more polite & respectful towards Drone than him.
He even chatted with him a lot.
He also noticed that when the Doctor looked at him, his eyes would contain a weird emotion, which he couldn't decipher.
But, most importantly, Adrian noticed that the Doctor's face, although not very pretty, was still way better than any of the thugs in his guild.
Hence he thought that his daughter might be even prettier, since he knew that daughters tended to be more cuter than their ugly fathers. So, Adrian had high hopes for the beauty of his daughter.
Adrian then asked,
[When is your daughter going to be sent away?]
The Doctor meekly replied,
[Lord, the hunters hold an evening attendance, where they take away our food and women. They also count us to make sure none of us escape. Else, the whole village is tormented.]
Adrian nodded and understood. It was afternoon right now, so he had some time.
Adrian also asked about the hunter's camp location along with their patrol routines. After roughly understanding everything, Adrian ordered,
[Drone! Capture him!]
Drone immediately caught the Doctor to make sure he cannot run away.
The Doctor became frightened & tried to get away from Drone, but it was of no use.
[WHY?! I didn't do anything wrong! Please let me go!]
Adrian glanced once towards the Doctor, before turning to leave the building as he replied,
[I need your help with something I am sure you would not agree with. Drone follow me.]
Drone nodded & carried the Doctor on his wide shoulders as he replied,
[Yes! Young Master!]
--------------------------------------------
When Adrian asked about the self immolating girl's house and about her remains' whereabouts, the Doctor felt like he was being taken to a slaughter house.
[Please! No! Anything but that! That place is cursed!!]
Adrian became too fed up with his constant ramblings and ordered,
[Drone, fix that man's attitude so that he becomes obedient.]

[Yes!]
What followed was a spectacular one sided brawl, which left the Doctor all bruised up. He tried to beg for forgiveness & mercy, but Drone was relentless with Adrian's orders.
When the Doctor finally complied, Drone the carried the Doctor, asking directions along the way.
The Doctor too became disillusioned about these two.
(...these two are no nobles, these guys are bandits! Better obey them for now, or else I might die earlier than the ghost's curse!...)
Adrian went inside the aforementioned girl's room, along with her family's rooms. He collected all that he could carry and bundled it all together.
As he came out of the cursed house, the Doctor was looking at Adrian as if he saw the ghost himself.
After asking about the girl's leftover's location, Adrian let the Doctor go,
[When Drone comes to you later, follow all his instructions, or your neck would fly. Got it?]
The Doctor heavily nodded as he ran away. He didn't want to be around the area of the girl's disposal.
Adrian cursed at these idiot villagers.
(...if they won't be cursed, then who else would be? Throwing someone's remains into a garbage disposal area, these guys were just looking for trouble...)
Adrian went inside the degrading garbage pile and started to rummage for hours. Finally he thought he had collected enough, so he carried all the bones and wrapped it within one cloth.
Afterwards, Adrian came along with Drone to an open space he earlier found & started to dig a hole at an appropriate location.
Drone looked on, as he became confused with Adrian's behavior. This world had no concepts of proper burial. The dead bodies were usually sent to churches to be purified as it prevented from the rise of the undead.
Even if magic became unusable, but holy water could still be obtained by the priests. They said that the god's mercy can never be overthrown by a sinner's curse.
Adrian, however, did not consider these things.
(...this girl's will and existence was disrespected repeatedly. Even after her death. How could she be in peace?...)
He only felt pity for this girl, since she was an innocent victim of the cruelty of the world.
In his previous life, he suffered from depression at one point due to the cruel environment he lived in. Even then, people still mocked him & discouraged him.
Towards these kinds of people, Adrian felt no sympathy. If it was left to him, he would have even cursed the Gods for creating such a world.
After properly burying the girl's remains & her belongings in the hole, he covered it up and placed a large piece of rock over it, creating a makeshift grave.
Adrian joined his hands together as he tried to speak to the girl's spirit,
[Little lady, you have suffered severe grievances. While you were alive, you were tormented by your fate and those around you.]
[But, you are no longer bound by such things anymore. The one who was responsible for your state has already fled far away. Only clueless villagers reside here now.]
[Please calm your anger and be at peace. I couldn't find your relative's bodies, but I have their belongings too. I shall bury them beside you, so that they could be at peace too.]
[We have something important to deal with tonight, so I hope you would not harm us. Be at rest.]
Adrian then dug up several more holes around and buried the other clothes and objects in it. After placing large rocks on them too, Adrian offered them a similar prayer, before he stood up and left the place.
--------------------------------------------
After Adrian left, the girl's spirit materialized and stared in the direction Adrian left.
She glanced at her family surrounding her. Their spirits were already very satisfied, as they met her one by one and passed on.
Finally, she was left alone, again...
