《The Mercenary's Mage》Chapter 33

Wen Reian
2019 years after The Long Night
Xi Qiáng Forest
Stirring slowly from the deepest sleep he could remember, Reian opened his eyes and immediately smiled. From where he was laying half under the covers, he saw Lan Kai-Le still dreaming peacefully beside him, the man’s arm thrown securely over Reian’s waist and his face pressed comfortably against his shoulder.
Wen Reian almost had to shake his head at how sweet and soft Kai-Le looked in this moment. Every gentle rise and fall of his chest as he slept, only an attest to how safe he must feel. Cuddled up beside me, his fingers gripping me tight-
Without meaning to, Wen Rei reached a hand up, gently going to tuck a lock of hair behind Kai-Le’s ear. When his hand finally fell, there were piercing, honey-colored eyes gazing at him, and Lan Kai-Le’s breath gradually hastening against his skin…
Something about being face to face with him like this, daylight pouring in through their little window and Kai-Le’s eyes being so intense and searching, Reian couldn’t help from blushing and glancing away.
Just staring at him makes me shy… the things we know about each other now-
Wen Reian’s attention was caught immediately, by Lan Kai-Le inching closer to press his lips against Reian’s neck. It was such a little thing; a good morning, and it made the healer want to laugh.
Never in a million years did I think I would be here, waking up beside him, feeling the heat of Kai-Le’s body and how soft his lips feel upon my skin…
“Mmmh,” Reian sighed. “Hello to you too.”
Kai-Le didn’t stop there, and before Reian could even open his eyes, he was holding his breath as the man bent and caught his lips with his own. Tasting Kai-Le’s uniqueness; mint, smoke, and also something sweeter that Reian couldn’t place but that reminded him of the forest, he sighed and brought his hand up to the back of the man’s neck.
Like that, they kissed deeply, passionately, Reian guiding Kai-Le and feeling his heart race in elation when the man even took the initiative to tug on Reian’s lips with his teeth.
He’s learning fast… or perhaps that’s just what he would have done anyway. He does like to bite, after all-
It wasn’t until Reian was panting that they at last parted for air. Flickering his eyes open to see Lan Kai-Le above him, mouth deep red and glistening, Wen Reian felt a shiver travel all the way down his spine, their mutual attraction growing with every breath.

“Lan-”
Reian’s words were cut off as Kai-Le rolled on top of him and shoved his knee between Reian’s legs to open them. Unable to do anything but press helplessly at the man’s chest, Wen Reian held his breath as Kai-Le eased his body down, caging the healer between his arms and forcing Reian legs even further apart…
Panting softly, Wen Rei sighed-
“Are you sure? Already, is it really okay? I think I might be-”
About to say tired, his eyes suddenly squeezed tight, a loud, aching groan escaping Reian’s lips as he felt Lan Kai-Le enter him down below. Legs springing up in reflex, Reian ended up wrapping them around the man’s waist, fingers curling on his chest as he eased gently, all the way inside.
Like before, Lan Kai-Le exhaled, his whole body relaxing and his eyes fluttering closed, as if being inside Wen Reian was the closest thing he’d ever felt to bliss. Body still aching terribly from last night, Reian shifted around uncomfortably for a while, trying to get used to the man’s size again. Before he was able to adjust, fully Kai-Le blinked and Reian froze under those watchful eyes, and the fierce burning flames he saw within them…
“Lan Kai-!” Reian’s plea was silenced by the man’s lips suddenly rushing back down to his.
At the same time, Kai-Le reached up and caught Reian’s wrists, drawing them up above his head and effectively pinning the healer to the bed. With the other still buried deeply inside, Wen Rei gasped and groaned loudly, writhing back and forth to either catch his breath from Kai-Le’s incessant kisses, or maybe just to free his hands. Either way, it didn’t work. Reian already knew that physically he was no match for Kai-Le.
Heart beating out a frantic, timid rhythm in his chest, Reian at least managed to slide his tongue inside the other man’s mouth, unfortunately this small bit of power lasted only seconds, for almost as soon as he did, Reian was parting with him, having to audibly moan as Lan Kai-Le began moving roughly.
Feeling his thighs tighten around the man’s waist, Reian ended up with his head lolling to the side, answering each thrust with pained whimpers as Kai-Le pushed again and again inside the deepest part of his body, jerking Reian forward each time.
It hurts! But… gods, it feels so good-
“Nnmhh!” Reian cried, the weight of Kai-Le’s body above him, thick cock inside him, filling him up to the point of bursting. He almost whimpered out a plea to beg for more of the exquisite torture.

Kai-Le’s hands that had been holding his wrists above his head moved away, and it wasn’t until Reian dared to open his eyes again that he realized it was because the hunter had reached up and was clutching the wooden headboard Reian had painstakingly built, with white knuckles, using all of his strength and desire to brutally push them closer to the edge…
His arms flexing, the flare of his nostrils-
How can everything about Kai-Le be making me want him to fuck me ‘till I die?!
Reian’s world became one rough stab of unthinkable pleasure after another. He stopped being able to feel any pain, only aware of the thick hard glide of Kai-Le’s body; the way Reian ached with his need for it, and Kai-Le’s desperate, choked-off gasps.
Forehead creasing, the pleasure growing darker, spiraling out from the core of Reian’s body, he felt tears spill from his eyes as he shouted-
“Lan Kai-Le! Ah!! Don’t stop-”
Hearing his begging, the hunter growled low in his throat, the snarl only agitating Reian further, who was already fully coming apart at the seams.
“Lan-Le! Kai-Le!! Ah, yes! Right there, like that! Yes-”
Feeling Kai-Le’s thick cock slide against that tender spot that he’d found the night before, Wen Reian was only seconds from coming. What finally pushed him over the edge, was not in fact Kai-Le’s heavy thrusting, nor his impossibly warm body pressing into Reian at every point, but the hunter’s low voice, as he placed his lips beside Reian’s ear and said with much sincerity-
“You like it too? Wen Reian…”
Reian came first. Again. His breath catching suddenly and his chin tilting back so far he felt his neck ache, entire body spasming while he screamed in silence. As each shockwave passed through his body, Reian was also aware that Lan Kai-Le was still moving inside him, slower now but just as deep, seeming to be chasing his own release.
Reian shivered through the aftershocks of his orgasm, aware through the fog in his mind that he had once again come all over his chest and stomach, but that more of it had landed on Kai-Le…
We have to wash this off soon-
Weakly opening his eyes, feeling as if his entire body had gone weightless, Wen Rei gazed up at the man still above him. Lan Kai-Le’s death grip on the headboard had ceased, the hunter again cradling Reian delicately in his arms, pressed so close together as if the man were making a nest for himself with Reian’s body.
Wen Reian could feel the pulsing thrum of the man’s cock, carving him out, but Lan Kai-Le was not desperate anymore, seeming as if he was content to take his time, feeling every inch of Reian and enjoying every second he could get.
Still feeling very much as if he’d had all the energy sucked out of him, Wen Rei managed to shakily wrap his arms around Kai-Le’s neck, pulling him closer and exhaling when his lover tucked his face into the crook of Reian’s neck…
Comfort and healing and closeness connecting them, Reian cherished each slow, deep thrust, feeling Kai-Le’s entire body shake and tremble as he got closer. His breath ghosted against Reian’s skin, and then the most beautiful moan escaped Kai-Le’s lips, the same one Reian had heard last night when he’d come-
That sound… oh, help.
Hearing it, feeling Kai-Le’s hips shake and then a warm rush filling him, the man’s teeth catching on his neck, Wen Reian could have said in that moment that he knew what Heaven was.
“Good boy,” Reian sighed, unsure why he did. “Rest now…”
Feeling Lan Kai-Le collapse on top of him, Reian wrapped him in his arms and stroked the man’s hair, awash with so many emotions, a few of which did not have names.
They laid there, basking in each other’s glow and happiness for more than an hour before Reian grew overheated from Kai-Le’s body and raised his lips to whisper-
“The river’s not too far, I’ll show you… ready?”
When Kai-Le raised his head from Reian’s neck, the healer had to blink his eyes a few times to realize what he was looking at.
The faintest, most heart-warming and kind smile was tugging at the edges of Lan Kai-Le’s lips. His eyes were dark and glassy, blown wide with desire, his face flushed, sweat sticking strands of hair across his forehead and beading on his upper lip…
Reian felt his heart beat so heavily in his chest, it was as if the thing was demanding exit from his body, maybe wishing it could leap from him and into Kai-Le, so that their hearts could bask in the same glow as their bodies, and keep each other just as warm.

Rekindle
My Newest, and at the same time, Oldest novel. This is a Rewrite of my very first novel that I begun when I was just starting out. It follows the story of Mark Floyd, a broken man who once tried to do what he thought was right... only to be stabbed in the back and thrown away. Now, pulled into a conflict that spans time and space, Mark has a choice to make; Stand up once more, even if it means facing an unknowable future, or let the Embers of his heart die and sink back into darkness. ----------------------------------- “For gold is tried in the fire, and acceptable men in the furnace of adversity”. Once part of a Special Ops team in the US Army, Mark Floyd thought he had seen the worst that Humanity had to offer. That was until his final mission, one that would leave him a broken and shattered man, betrayed by the Country he served, and abandoned by society as a whole. His dreams filled with nightmares of the ones he failed to protect, mind and memories clouded by booze and more, Mark finds himself stumbling through life without purpose or desire. Life isn't done with Mark yet, however. For as long as even a single ember remains in a persons heart, here is still yet hope for the flames of Passion and Hope to be Rekindled. When the dying embers of Mark's heart catches the eyes of a Being far beyond his understanding, Mark finds himself thrown into a situation not even his years of training could prepare him for. Will this new chance be Mark's hope at both Redemption and Recompense? Or will it simply be the final nail in the coffin for a man already dead to the World? [This is a rework of my very first story. The general story will remain the same, however a few details have been tweaked, the chapters have be Edited better and some chapters have been broken down into smaller chunks for better flow and consistency. The biggest change will be to the System itself; It will be a lot less "Game-like", meaning no stats, levels or similar aspect, though skills will still be present in the form of "Programs". Instead, It'll focus more on the Sigil's nature as super-computers and how they change the world around them. This should make for a much more "natural" and less info-dumpy system.
