《Shadow Emperor》Chapter 1

“Is he fine?”, said Elena, the mother of the newborn. “Everything was fine before he started crying and then, and then… this black smoke nearly killed him, who did this to him Dunwood!!”
Dunwood himself was one of the strongest men in the village, but even he had never seen something like this before. But he knew that this type of energy was way beyond his understandings, and if it had wanted to kill the newborn it might have already done it. But it seemed like the newborn was fine, as it slept soundly with a smile on it’s face and some saliva dripping down it’s lips.
“Don’t worry Elena, he is fine the black smoke did not harm him. We will keep watch of him and stay in the village for the upcoming weeks to see if anything happens to him, and if nothing happens we will visit the Shixiong Clan like we intended to.”
Elena was once again reminded of that despicable sect, ah, why is life so unfair? They did not only rob and destroy households, now they even demanded a monthly contribution of raw materials? Did they not have any face for the Vancun family? Although it was true that they were how many miles away from the main sect, if it came hard on hard they could still request help and then even the Shixiong Sect’s backing would not have any leeway to ask for forgiveness!
“Do you have to go? Can we not simply refuse and call your grandfather if they really do not back down?”
Dunwood sighed as he looked at the horizon, “We can not call them every time we have some trouble, where would my face be left? Don’t worry about these small fries, you should rather think of a good name for this handsome boy here.”

With his he left and closed the door, and as soon as he arrived in his room he sank to the ground.
“What was this symbol? Where have I seen this before? ‘King’….”
Back in the tavern the woman named Elena swayed the child back and forth, thinking of a suitable name. The child looked at her with his dark blue eyes, blinking and smiling as if it wanted to wash away all the worries from the woman’s face. She began to smile as well as she decided on a name.
“You will be called Damian, Damian, the one who tames and subdues.”
As if it liked the name, the newborn started to giggle and wiggled with his legs and arms, as if he had already started his quest to subdue the world.

Azarinth Healer
A new world with nearly unlimited possibilities. A status, classes, magic and monsters. Sounds good? Well, for Ilea it didn't come quite as expected as for some other protagonists, nor was there a king or god to welcome her. The grand quest? Well, she might figure that out someday but for now, a new world with new food is prize enough. Her fists at the ready, she's prepared to punch and get punched, however long it takes and however many limbs she might have to regrow. A story I've started writing now quite a while ago. Transported to another world, somewhat standard fantasy setting with my beginner attempts to make it dark but funny. There are Litrpg elements here but I do hope it's not too heavy and annoying. The fights should be interesting and aren't just numbers vs numbers. Contrary to the title the protagonist will be quite an offensive fighter. Ilea Spears is your average sarcastic kick-boxing fast food worker and soon to be student. She will be transported to another world rather conventionally and will be confronted with survival in the wild. Give it a shot and let me know what you think. My experience is incredibly lacking. If you find yourself hating it early on, do convey your anger in a detailed comment or review :) I want to get better but without any feedback it's simply quite difficult. Quick heads up: Around chapter 120 there are a bunch of longer PoV changes that I discontinued again shortly after. The Arc around chapters 150-200 is darker than the rest and the themes shift quite a bit. Just know that it goes back to what you've come to know after that section. Thank you for reading. Quick update June 2019: Many complaints regarding the formatting, specifically spacing in conversations and of course the usage of the present tense in the first 36 chapters have been addressed. I'm of course learning by the day but compared to how it was before it should be an improvement at least. Chapters usually around 3k words Cover art by Kevin Catalan

Liana in between Worlds
17 year old Liana is not as surprised as most people would be when she meets Inaya, coming from another world searching for a mysterious danger that could be disastrous for both worlds. She's always seen things others could not see, and she often finds it easier to befriend strange creatures from dreamworlds than her classmates. But now she's involved in a possible plot to eradicate our whole species, which makes her travel through a dead alien city and the oak wood of the Nummerfa who believe that our species are dangerous demons from hell, and other places in several different worlds. All she actually wanted was read her Tolkien book, or sit and watch the stars without being bothered by the existential problems of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. And how is she going to even explain her absence at school? 'Liana in Between Words' is a weird genre-defying mix of portal fantasy and scifi in a tale of friendship, loneliness, and the role of humans in the multiverse. This one contains absolutely no romance and no serious trigger warnings for sex, excessive violence, bad words or heavily traumatising content if you can handle the idea that there are people somewhere who think -maybe not completely without reason- that our species are destructive demons that should be eradicated.
