《Second Chronicle's》Chapter 14- Hundred Thousand times

Mylo went inside the ‘The Sweet Court’ inn. He looked around but couldn’t find Efferus anywhere. He went to the inn owner to ask him if Efferus was inside on of the room.
“Efferus? He went to the Adventurers training court. He should be there training new-born soldiers and adventures on their basics’.”
“And where could I find the training court?”
“Its four blocks from here on your left.”
“Thank you”
Mylo left the inn and headed toward the Adventurers training court.
Cast next to the Inn, the Adventurer’s training court of Valsea is home to the kingdoms trainee soldiers lead by class instructors, Efferus being one of them training soldiers and players that choose the archer’s path.
This court wasn't built by accident; it is of great importance to the kingdom military strength.
The court itself didn’t look stunning. The court was as big as a soccer field but only sand and stone covered the field no greenery could be seen, around the court were numerous wooden dummies placed 5 metres apart all around the court. Npc’s where swinging into the dummies while players didn’t bother doing them and only speaking with the instructor to provide them they’re class quest in order to acquire their first class skill.
What truly fascinated Mylo was the Adventurer’s Building.
From the outside it looked high-class and extravagant. It has been built with bricks and has grey stone decorations. The size and length was similar to that of modern elementary schools. Short, wide windows brighten up the building interior. Two small chimneys poke out the right and left corner of the roof.
Inside the building was one long and dark rug running down from the main entrance to the closest spot people can stand when they address the reception. While walking inside the building the first thing one notice is the giant carved sculpture of a man holding a fashionable stick in his hand while standing strong in his feet. Below the sculpted individual was writing unscripted to it, ‘King Xavier Valsea III’.

Mylo didn’t know if this was the current king or the past king but he could tell how humble and virtuous looking he was. Mylo slowly walked past the sculpture and stopped at the receptionist desk.
“Hello.’
“Hello, my name is Lili. How may I help you today? Are you looking to accept requests? If so please go to the request board in the right corner. If you are looking to join a guild please provide your information in this form and the name of the guild you which to join.”
“No, I’m not here for any of those.”
“Then how can I be of assistance?”
“I’m here to see Efferus, I’ve been told that he was currently training some soldier but I haven’t seen him in the court.”
“Efferus is currently busy with the …”
“Lili, its fine. Il deal with it.”
“Oh, seems like you finished your business Mr. Efferus.”
“Yes. Thank you for assisting this young lad.”
“My pleasure, have a good day.”
“Come here lad.”
“…”
“Did you manage to find anything? If I’m not wrong, it hasn’t even been a full day since I gave you the request.”
“I actually did find something out, something that I couldn’t personally deal with.”
“Oh, and what might that be?”
“The Unknown beast that you spoke off is some type of chimera.”
“Chimera!? What makes you think that?”
Mylo couldn’t say that he saw his name thanks to the system. Since the npc’s were programmed not to understand anything that could divulge them being game characters.
“The creature had many different animal characteristics; he had the head of a gorilla allowing him a type of shout or war cry which feared its prey. He had horn presumable does of a deer; he uses it to impale its prey. He has the body size and strength of a bear and has some type of turtle shells protecting its back and torso. The scariest thing is his tail. His tail was similar to that of a skunk allowing him to spray a certain liquid that smelled horrible. That smell allowed it to mark its prey and track it in case it successfully runs away.”

“…”
“…”
“Efferus?”
“Ah! Sorry I was just thinking about what you told me. That is indeed a chimera but thankfully from the characteristic you provided it seems to be a lesser version.”
“Why would u say that? Usually a completed chimera would only have a being with magical property like demons, monsters (like dragons not animals like the valsea wolves), elves, beastman, dwarves and even humans body part, not normal animal parts.”
“I see…”
“You did a great job Cosmo, for completing such dangerous task in such a short amount of time i will provide you with a little bonus.”
“Really?”
“Yes, here’s your reward plus the leather armor I promised you. I hope it is to your liking.”
“Thank you Efferus.”
“No thank you, unfortunately its shame you aren’t strong enough to deal with it. I’ll have to make a personal request in the request board. Hopefully some of you cursed one could group up and face it.”
“I’m sorry for my lack of strength…”
“Do not put yourself so down, you’re the best cursed one I have met so far.hmm…”
“What is it?”
“How about this, so far I’ve requested all the cursed ones that came to see for guidance a specific task that they all refused. How about you prove to me how regretful you are for your lack of strength?”
“What’s the task?”
“Go to the Court outside the building and hit the dummies hundred thousand times without a break. If you manage to do it, your basics will significantly increase. And since I have a favourable opinion of you I will give you a reward if you manage to complete it. How about it? Up to the challenge? But keep in mind that if you take a single break, then you have failed my task. And there are no second chances.”
------------------------------------
Quest: Basic attack proficiency.
Rank: E
Requirement
*Hit the dummies with basic attacks only. 0/ 100,000
*Quest will fail the moment you stop attacking.
Reward: Passive skill ‘Basic attack proficiency’, +15% affinity with Efferus, ???
Failure: -10% affinities with Efferus.
Time Limit: None
[Would you like to accept the quest? (YES/NO) ]
----------------------------------------
Mylo thought to himself: “no wonder no one took the task, it’s extremely time consuming. And the reward isn’t even interesting. Basic attack proficiency? Forget about mages, clerics or tanks, it’s completely useless for them. What about the warrior, rogue and archers? They wouldn’t care either; they would prefer having active skills than a basic attack passive skill.”
Mylo stayed silent for a few seconds before answering Efferus.
“I accept.”
“Great. You can start whenever you want, I’ll be sure to watch you without bothering you with your task.”
“…Okay.”
Mylo walked out of the building and sat next to a dummy.
“Before I start, let’s take a look at my rewards.”

Catalyst: Avowed
The year is 605, and in your home— the country of Corcaea— the souls of mankind belong to demons. A phenomenon known as the "Catalyst" is what's to blame. This diabolical phenomenon lurks within every man, woman, and child. It can turn any human into a demon, if they fall prey to one, all-consuming element. It can be anything. Fear. Grief. Generosity. Even love. In a land where Gods are real and Corcaea's theocracy is the last hope for mankind, you follow in the footsteps of Father Richard Anscham: a deeply disturbed young priest, the leader of the Church of Mercy, and the foremost researcher of the Catalyst. Despite completing a holy mission from the Goddess of Mercy, obtaining a holy Relic, and escaping from demon-infested ruins, Father Anscham is in greater peril than ever before. Ravaged in mind, body, and soul, the solace he begs to receive from the Church of Flesh is impeded by a cruel lesson: the ramifications of a life spent sacrificing everything one has for others. See through the harrowing eyes of a man at his wit's end; through a dark fantasy tale of horror, hope, and desperation. Search for the cure. Conquer your personal demons. Welcome to Catalyst! As this is an archive of Catalyst Quest (an interactive, collaborative story), the prompts that were included with the original run of Avowed have been stripped, and the story is presented like a traditional novel for your reading convenience. If you would like to read Catalyst in its original format or participate in current events, you can find us here, on Sufficient Velocity. This book is complete! The story will continue with Catalyst: Calunoth, just as soon as I am done revising its content for here on Royal Road.

Shades of the Moon
I'm rewriting this story! I have taken down Arc 2 and Arc 3 already to avoid spoiling my new novel. The only reason I'm keeping the first 10 chapters is nostalgia; the writing is awkward and the story is not plotted out properly, but it's here if anyone wants to compare it to the new one. If you'd like to read a more professionally written version of this story, I highly suggest checking out my Synergy. Synopsis version too-many-to-count: “I see,” Kiona said. “But . . . you’re changing once again, aren’t you?” The entity considered her question, lifting a clawed hand towards the night sky. They observed the back of their hand idly, watching the glowing orange veins pulse alongside their pitch-black exoskeleton. The wind picked up right then, and Kiona shivered—just as much from the cold as from the savage grin on the creature's face. “That’s right,” the entity said, clenching their hand slowly into a fist. They let out a quiet laugh, staring defiantly at the Moon as it rose from behind the clouds. “We are shades, yet not exactly. Not like the others. Here, in this world, we've become something more. We are the Shades of the Moon.” There was a heartbeat of silence, during which Kiona joined the entity in their skygazing. The light-green Moon loomed over the city, shining like the entity's eyes. It promised otherworldly knowledge and terrible secrets. It promised progress. It promised change. In that moment, Kiona couldn't have imagined anything more beautiful. “Shades of the Moon, huh?” she said, smiling a bit. It had a nice ring to it.

The Student Council's Pet | ✓
Renown troublemaker, Kasumi Yonamine, has gotten herself into quite the dilemma. Definitely hitting her high school principal wasn't something she'd put high on her gloating list, but when she does accidentally do it and is threatened with expulsion, she's assured her life is officially ruined. At least she is until Shuuhei Okabe, the Student Council President, suddenly steps forward. With the promise to take Kasumi under his wing and reshape her into a fine young lady, the principal agrees to postpone her expulsion, and Kasumi is grateful. But what Kasumi didn't know and was shocked to figure out is that when Shuuhei said he and the Student Council would be 'reshaping' her, he meant it in a way where she would become their 'dog' and treat them like her masters. The Student Council wasn't the group of perfectionists they led everyone on to be.And they were very, very fond of S&M relationships.***The full story is available on the Tapas app/site under my username @Mistyped_ and the same title. Only the first few chapters are posted on Wattpad!PS: This is a simple teen fiction book with a main character who swears like a sailor and characters who are not what they initially seem.
