Titanic Wall, Border between Duité and The Plains of Despair
"Sir the MADAR has detected a huge mana signature in the Direction of Aditya's Gorge"
The soldier stood Ramrod straight as he reported to his peculiar teal-haired superior
The superior in question was Kaiser Firdynn, The Wind Commandant and the Youngest of the Ten Commandants, The ten strongest mages in the empire who each represent one Element from the menagerie of Elements that Anthem Contracts allows humans to Manipulate.
"Does this have anything to do with the Dweller sightings being reported?"
Kaiser clasped his hands together on his Desk
"according to the MADAR the Mana signature perfectly aligns with that from a Yaksha, sir"
The soldier continued
"A Yaksha? In Aditya's Gorge?"
Kaiser put a hand to his jaw and began to Rub as he thought.
"Send over a Retrieval team, and Inform our Elf Ambassador. Give specific instructions not to Agitate the creature. It needs to be brought back here and Cross checked to make sure it came from Elvendom"
General Kaiser gave his orders
"Yes sir, I shall see to it immediately!"
"Dismissed, Leftenant"
The soldier clicked his heels and marched out of the office, Leaving Kaiser to go through his multitudes of possible actions and outcomes
"I need to relay this Information to Fierté HQ. If Things go FUBAR we'll need backup. it's possible the Dwellers have staged another attack on this part of the wall"
Kaiser thought to himself, Steadily arranging his thoughts around.
He got up from his chair and made his way to the window where he could see the Titanic Wall.
Kaiser had been assigned to the Duitè segment of the Titanic wall ever since an attempted Siege 5 years ago. His display of power in the ensuing battle led to him becoming a Commandant.

The Titanic Wall was an Immense structure created by a previous Earth Commandant. It is made out of an extremely tough and smooth steel to keep the creatures of the Plains of Despair out of the Empire's Territory. a vast stretch of land the size of a Country, Home to Thousands of different kinds of Beasts and Mystical creatures, The Plains of Despair was named so because of it's extremely harsh and Volatile climate, Known to be inhospitable to all but the most extreme of Creatures.
The wall stretched all the way along the Empire's Western border from the Zoar Gulf into the very edge of Foi, Providing protection for the Three states that made up the Border, Including Duité where Kaiser was Stationed.
"It's entirely possible the Dwellers have stolen this Yaksha from the Elven forests. They must be after the vast amounts of pure Mana stored within those tiny creatures… for what.."
He unconsciously scratched his head as he thought
"They clearly don't need that much mana to perform corpse weaving. unless… they're working on a different type of weapon"
Kaiser turned away from the window and sat back down at his desk. He pulled out a sheet of Vellum and Picked up his quill.

Mud's Mission
The story begins with an elderly hermit mage living on the outskirts of a labyrinth town. Invoking spellwork that is trivial for a mage of his caliber, he creates a simple mud automaton to aid him in household chores. However, in the middle of his efforts, something goes wrong; his ancient heart finally fails. Now, half complete and with limited understanding of the world, an artificial being of mud stirs. Despite its limitations, it has a mission to fulfill. The last instructions of a dying creator. "Defend my home, and my possessions." To the mechanical mind of Mud, only absolute perfection is acceptable when fulfilling the orders of The Master. Mud will make sure nothing in the universe will ever threaten The Master's home! --- This fiction contains RPG elements such as skills and levels. The protagonist has an inhuman mind and acts on instincts and preferences that are completely different from those of a normal human, and may at times fly in the face of common sense. The general tone is lighthearted, but there are some scenes with disturbing content such as mind control and references to torture. Join our Discord to discuss the novel or chat with the author.
