《The Path Finder System》Chapter 14- training in the personal dungeon(3)

Day 2
From the 750 times the branch lashed out onto my foot, in a form of hook it pushed me above the ground, its only function having me hanging upside down. I am fortunate enough it doesn't have a thrashing function, but I am not sure of the heavy one.
One thing I could do to avoid this situation is dodge and then attack or simply see where the branch is sweeping from and attack simultaneously.
I do think the second method is more interesting for me and I shall gladly do it. With a step forward I swiped my sword upward with a single hand minding my balance and cutting it off in a single stroke, and it felt easy for me when reached the middle of my goal.
[Contribution point-2]
The 800 times heavier one is trickier and I shall be more cautious in handling it, like I thought the intensity of each strike is enough to break my skull. I have more confidence than before, the problem is whether the angle would change or would it remain the same.
Fortunately it remained the same.
[Contribution point-3]
The 850 times one is horizontal circle motion of the branch, I can't see from which direction is the rotation forming if I could see it I could solve this problem.
I had to watch the motion in minute section at first it was blurry gradually I came to understand the branch is moving in anticlockwise direction.
I could now move to attack but I guess observing further could add much clarity, but no matter how much concentrated I acted, I couldn't see above the blurry form.
Now I could straight away attack the formation but I am not sure my sped could match the rotation.
I focused my attention increasing my speed of sword attack, I used my shoulder to propel the speed of my sword which is barely of any weight, I had to put much force in my arm to increase the speed for a moment and I could cut out the branch swiftly.

The only problem being I had taken deep breath after every strike. My stamina went down rapidly and I had difficulty standing after 50 strikes.
I had to take a 5 minutes rest in between.
With a snail pace I completed my goal
[Contribution point-4]
[Level 0]
Lying on my bed eating the two bread and drinking a liter of water, I see the contribution point again
[Contribution point- 1]
I am not sure whether I should start eating a bread and save some contribution point for mild injury one, there doesn't seem to be much choice other than doing so.
'How are you so confident that the angle of attack won't change?' asks Mirage
'I could say that it is following some pattern and it would be absurd to change it halfway'
'Why would it be absurd?'
'Well....'
'You are saying it would not follow logic'
'I usually think like this too; taking an example from my younger days if we throw a light ball upward is it only possible that it could land on the same point from where it is thrown or it could change direction and land on any point the ball wants'
'It's because of the air'
'yes, like the same way if a circumstance do happen, that the branch might change the way of attack halfway I am not sure whether my mind could react properly'
I think when it the matter of life and dead, fate also takes part in it and I do believe if a man does his best what he could in his own current situation, which is the only thing he could do; he might die well satisfied.
If I die here because of uncertainty and err in calculation which I think has more than 90 percent certainty, I have to accept it.

'You are not giving your best here'
'What do you mean by giving my best?'
'....'
'I always had a thought coming in me is it possible that a man could give his best in every circumstances, and even if he do believe I have given my best what is there to prove that he has given his best?'
'I myself have no answer to it and this is what I am trying to find; have I done my best?'
A question which always preys on me and thinking of doing my best in a way reduces my efficiency. I would rather choose consistency over my best.
'What do you mean by consistency?'
'Consistency in my way of thinking is doing a work day by day withought the thought of result'
'Wouldn't it make it repetitive and without much progress?'
'You are right'
'Maybe I am like an woodcutter who cuts the tree without sharpening his axe, and I would get the same profit every time, no matter how much hard work I do'
'But'
'The woodcutter is getting the 'profit' and if I think of doing my best, I would have given up halfway'
'And I don't want that'
'I would rather choose to be consistent and disciplined rather than to do my best'
'Maybe I would be changing in a micro way but I don't want to shake my equilibrium of my mind with the thought of doing my best'
The only thing I have to focus on is not get into auto driving mode, with self awareness, I guess would improve slowly albeit with much less progress.
'Do you think, you could hold out for 38 more days?'
'I don't know and it is really interesting to find it rather than think about it'
'In my opinion right now I have to focus only on swinging my sword and the rest of it would be calculated later on'
'You do know even if you work very hard, you will just remain a dog'
'Maybe, it is uncertain, but I would have increase in my food ha-ha that could please me for a while'
'Isn't your mentality shallow?'
'Maybe, but to have the idea of reality and working towards my dream seems more doable than chasing only my dreams'
'I understand,have a good sleep'
'Yea'

When Plush comes to Shove
An: So the last synopsis wasn’t really all that good, it was just some mumbo jumbo with no actual point to it so I decided to make a new one that’s a bit more accurate. Leo Lush, just your average everyday (slightly chubby) schmuck, or at least he would be if he didn’t carry around a stuffed toy everywhere he went.I mean, he was a man who could read the atmosphere a bit so put it away in his bag whenever having a stuffed toy out would be rude but other than that he brought it with him all the time, it was a memento from his girlfriend who had died three years ago and keeping it close made him feel better. That’s also why his classmates gave him the nickname “Plush”, though that's neither here nor there. One day at the train station he’d lost his dearest stuffed toy, one of his classmates found it and lobbed it towards him, something that they’d already done many times before, but this time something went wrong and Leo found himself falling in front of the train due to the force of the throw. Now follow Leo as the spirit that developed in his stuffed toy and killed him forces his ghost into another world to possess a different stuffed toy. He doesn’t know much about the world or why he’s there but what he does know is that according to a magic book his girlfriend was also sent to this very world when she died in a plane accident three years ago. An: For those who want to know a bit more about what kind of story this will be: I want it to be a chill feel-good story and stay as far away from those despair-fest stories as possible (No offense to people who enjoy them, I’m just not one of you)Let me make something clear; I’m not writing this story with hope of it becoming really top tier among RRL (Though it did get above rank 500 once which I’m still very proud of even though it’s gone back down to ~850 at the time of writing this) I just want to write a story that I would enjoy reading, that’s why I’ll be mostly skipping over a lot of the parts that I skip when I read other stories, such as stats, the exact value of money and other such precise statistics that no one(as far as I’m aware) really cares about all that much. Just feels like a lot of effort for something superfluous. There’s a single exception and that’s one of the battles, it’s not a despair-fest or anything but it’s got a different feel than the rest of the story due to me being in a funky mood while I was writing it.
