Thomas paced back and forth in his bedroom. He killed the only one who knew were you were. It was a bad idea on his part, but in his defense, John was really annoying.
John was smiling, joking, and laughing. He was acting like he didn't just take away Thomas's little girl.
Thomas did not like that...
"My poor little girl is lost somewhere..."
You were different. You were more special than his unborn child. You were alive.
You happened to be just like Thomas. He wondered when the bloodlust would awaken in you.
He always found pleasure in hurting others. Pain was the secret to happiness. To be able to share the joys of mentally torturing people with his daughter would be a taste of heaven. Thomas let's out a laugh.
Your face was always so blank. It was just like his when he was younger. He couldn't feel anything. He didn't even cry when he broke his arm when he was seven. It hurt like hell, but he knew crying would do nothing. That's when his parents realized he was a freak.
That day, he had fallen out of a tree. He landed on his arm and when he stood up, his arm was twisted into an odd angle. It was the most painful thing he's ever felt, but screaming would do nothing, so he had walked up to his mother, who had been sitting on a bench and talking to another woman, and showed her his twisted arm. His face revealed nothing of the pain he was feeling. His eyebrows weren't even scrunched up... he was just there. His mom had let out a horrible shriek and then he was rushed to the hospital.
Thomas laughed at the memory. He wondered if a similar thing happens with you. Thomas wanted to ask you so badly.
He missed you.
...
Cain's eyes didn't leave your face.
The softest, most faint smile had formed right in front of him. If Cain only grazed over your beautiful face, which he never would, he wouldn't have noticed it because of how small it was. It was only a twitch away from being your usual stoic expression, but it was there and it was directed at him. You eyes had softened and there was an unfamiliar twinkle in them. It was joy... happiness.

You were happy.
He couldn't take it.
His lips had somehow found their way to yours. They fit together like puzzle pieces, a perfect fit. Cain hands had placed themselves on your cheek, while your hand were pushed up against his chest. You knew what he was doing... from books. In all the love stories and princess stories that you've ever read, kissing was how each of them ended. It was a sign of love... intimacy. Books made kisses seem so special so you vowed to never share one with anyone unless they were your prince.
Cain, however, wasn't a prince, he was a god. Never in your wildest dreams have you ever thought you would kiss someone as amazing as Cain... then again... your dreams weren't all that wild.
You were inexperienced. You lips didn't move, and your eyes were open, while Cain's were closed. He backed away, disappointed.
You could see it written all over his face.
"I'm sorry... I just... I don't know what I was thinking... I mean—" Cain stuttered, trying his best to save what was left of his friendship.
What he didn't know was that there was nothing left. He was now a love interest.
"Again." You say, staring at him.
Your gaze was intense. The calm and vast (e/c) ocean was stirring with curiosity, wonder, and a bit of confusion. You needed to know what that feeling was... the feeling that just sprung about in your chest once his lips touched yours.
Not to mention the other feelings that you felt. You felt hot, cold... you felt electricity shoot through you and the urge to throw up. That wasn't a bad thing... it was just confusing. Your stomach just felt weird, and you felt somewhat restless.
Cain cheeks were dusted pink.
"W–what."
Did he hear you correctly?
"Let's do it again."
He did. Cain would have fainted if he wasn't so eager to place his lips back on yours. Why were you so irresistible? Why did you have to look cute and smell so good and be so lovable.

Who knew that this all happened simply because he wanted to get an evening snack all those years ago. If you weren't such a sweetie, he would have just eaten you, but you just had to be his friend... didn't you?
Cain never actually had a friend.
Cain nods, placing his lip on yours again soon after.
You tried to mimic his movements, moving your lips along with his. This was a learning experience. Cain decided to make it more passionate, bringing his tongue into the action. You joined along, thinking that it was the right thing to do.
The feeling in your chest and gut increased tenfold. Your cheeks were flushed, your eyes were glazed over (although no one would be able to tell because you eyes were closed) and, your breathing was uneven.
For once, your heart had sped up, just a little with excitement, a feeling that you weren't able to identify. You felt excited when you had picnics with your mother, but this was a different type of excitement. When Cain split from you, he noticed the change in your demeanor.
You looked so hot.
"You caught on quiet fast." Cain says with newly found confidence. "Do you want more?"
Your eyes focus on him. The look you were giving him was sexy. You bit your lip, hopping of the counter.
"I don't think I could handle that." You breath out.
The way you said that made Cain's heart skip a beat.
"Why is that?" Cain asks, tilting his head.
"That was more intense than books make it out to be." You mumble
Cain pouts.
"Does that mean you didn't like it?"
Cain waits for a reply. Even though he was joking, he was scared of you answer. Wonder if you didn't like it... then what would he do?
"I..." For once, you were at a lost for words. You tried to word your sentence in a way that didn't make you feel weird, but every sentence you thought of didn't sound right to you. "I... it was good." You look down at your bare feet.
"W—what?" Cain says, his face red.
"I liked...it." You whisper.
You never thought you'd be in a situation like this. You just saying that you liked it made you feel even more restless. Cain felt restless too.
"(Y/n)..." Cain hugs you.
You smelled so nice.... so so nice. Cain could feel himself slipping. He pushed your face into his chest so you wouldn't be able to see the twisted smile on his face. He was hungry again. He couldn't tell if he was hungry for you or hungry for your blood.
"(Y/n)..." Cain coos.
He leans down, loosening his grip on you so he could see you face.
Your stare reminded him of a hopeful puppy. He gives you a kiss on the tip of your nose, his red eyes glowing ominously.
"I have some business to take care of. I'll still be in the house, but I can't have you follow me. Do you understand?" Cain says, placing his hand top of your head.
"Yes." You say
He ruffles you hair.
"Good. Call me if you need anything."
And then Cain disappears from sight.

The Depths of Magic
Synopsis It's the year 2052 and the release of the new next-generation full-dive VRMMO game called The Depths of Magic is hitting the world by storm. The game's technology will surpass all other games before it and shock the masses. Hector who goes by the name Locke inside the game is an experienced player of the genre. He is looking to continue his goal of enjoying gaming as well as the competition that goes along with competing for the top ranking spots. Novel Summary The Depths of Magic is a LitRPG novel focused on a Fantasy VRMMO setting. This is not a harem novel. In-Game systems The Depths of Magic features state-of-the-art technology never before seen in Hector's world. The key system the novel will bring up often is the Second Brain. The Second Brain system is more like a guidance AI for the players in the game that acts as if you had a second brain assisting your every action. How much guidance this AI will give is based on its experience or mastery skills a player will receive in the game. The guidance is seamless to a point where a player won't even realize they are being assisted, it's will feel like what they are doing is something they could always do. However, once they leave the game it will become quite apparent that they were receiving heavy guidance. The purpose of this system in a writing sense is to explain why a player can realistically become more powerful, more agile, or more skilled than they would otherwise be able to as a human. To give an example if someone could move faster than a bullet, how would a normal human brain be able to perceive and control this movement properly. Or how could a player who has never held a sword before become as experienced as someone who has trained with the sword all their lives? The magic system will be another focus of this novel. I don't want to spoil anything here but it should be an interesting one. The hope is that the system I have made will spark discussion between the readers on what combinations will do what. I already have most of it, but it will be fun to read as the author. Side notes My general focus for this novel is to attempt to make the in-game systems make sense. To give a vague example I have read a lot of novels of this genre and some have the habit of just creating such powerful items that it just breaks the system, and somehow the MC keeps finding challenging situations even with those items. What tends to happen when I read a novel like this I just ignore the stats of the items he is getting because the numbers don't even matter anymore. Release schedule: The chapter release schedule due to real-life complications is to release as I write them. Patreon setup: 1 chapter early release/discord access. Free content up to the current chapter includes an excel sheet that contains Locke's current stats at the end of the chapter. This is extra information for those that are interested.
