"John how much longer will she be out? It's been 10 days!"

"Alpha you have to remember she is human and suffered a terrible shock. First from the vampire bite and then seeing you in wolf form snapping his neck. It will take some time for her mind to repair itself." He checked the machines and the IV. "When she does wake up, go slow. Don't try to jump into the subject of what we are. Give her time to adjust to her new surroundings first."

"I'm sorry...I just can't stand seeing her like this and not be able to do something about it. I do appreciate everything that you have done."

"I would do anything for our Luna. I need to go down to the prison and check on the injured wolves. If anything changes, call me." Trevor nodded and John left.

Trevor sat down in the chair by her bed and took her hand. The familiar tingles soothing him. With his other hand he reached up and caressed her face. "Please wake up beautiful. I don't know how I will survive without seeing your sweet smile and hearing your voice. You are my world Alex and I love you." He laid his head on the bed beside her and fell asleep.

She could feel herself drifting in the darkness. No way to stop, nothing to hold onto. She could hear the voice but could not reach it. Help! Someone help me please! Still nothing.What felt like hours later,she saw the pinpoint of light in the distance. Alex struggled towards it. When she was almost close enough to reach it, she was stopped again. This time by a man's voice. Not yet my child. Your destiny is almost here and you have to be prepared. Alex looked around in shock for the origin of the voice, when he spoke again. You and the adanvdo will be one. Do not resist this change. As the leader and future of our kind you will need to be strong. The necklace will help you when it is time. Goodbye my child, I will be watching. Alex was shocked, Wait! don't leave! tell me what you mean! Nothing. Then she felt herself hurdling toward the light. She could feel her body again and someone was holding her hand, caressing her face. The tingles felt so good. Alex tried to open her eyes but they felt like weights were on them. "Please princess, if you can hear me, open those beautiful eyes." The voice was familiar and she felt a need to comfort him. Alex put everything she had in her and managed to lightly squeeze his hand.

"Daniel! Hurry get the pack doctor, she's waking up!" Trevor said eagerly. "Come on baby, open those beautiful eyes for me."

Alex opened her eyes slowly. the light was blinding and she closed them again. "No no baby, open your eyes back up!" Alex tried to speak but her throat felt like a desert. After a lot of effort, she managed to croak one word. "light"

"Oh God! I'm sorry princess, hold on." Trevor ran to the window and closed the curtains, then turned on the lamp at the opposite side of the bed. "Ok honey, try now."

Alex's eyes fluttered open slowly. She looked up and saw crystal blue eyes staring at her. She blinked a couple of times to clear her blurry vision and saw his handsome face smiling at her. Then the door flew open and people started piling in.

"Alpha I need you to move aside so I can examine her." Trevor growled and moved away from the bed. "How are you feeling Luna?"

Alex managed a croak, "water". "Oh I am so sorry, of course you need water."

John poured her a glass and helped her sit up enough to drink from the glass. The water tasted like heaven and she drank it down greedily. With a sigh she laid back on her pillow. "Where am I?"

"We will answer all your questions shortly. Right now I need to verify your health." Alex nodded. "Do you have any pain or aches?"

"A slight headache." She said softly

"How is your vision?"

"Fine, I can see the room clearly."

"Excellent! I think we can unhook you from everything. I'll give you something for the headache. Alpha could you have someone get her something to eat?" John asked as he turned to Trevor.

Zoe spoke up, "I'll get something for her." and left the room.

"Now...you are still weak and I want you to rest. maybe in a couple days you can get up and start walking around."

Alex motioned him close to her and whispered, " I need to use the bathroom and I'd like to clean up." John chuckled, "Of course Luna."

"Trevor could you have one of the ladies to assist her to the bathroom?"

"I'll help her." Trevor almost growled. He did not want anyone near her other than the doctor.

Alex gasped, "No you will not! I hardly know you and you certainly are not going in the bathroom with me!"

Trevor did not want to push her, "Fine...Daniel please call Cara and Mia." He turned back to her. "They will help you and I will wait here. better?"

Alex nodded, "Thank you. I didn't mean to be rude It's just, I am old fashioned and believe only your husband should see you like that."

Trevor smiled and walked closer and took her hand. "I understand." There was a knock at the door and 2 beautiful girls walked in. They had long silky black hair and warm brown eyes. Young, maybe mid twenties. They were carbon copies of each other. "Alex this is Cara and Mia, they will help you."

"Wow! Twins!" The girls giggled.

"It's wonderful to meet you Luna." Cara replied.

"How may we help you?" Mia asked.

"Its nice to meet you girls. If you could help me to the bathroom, I need to get cleaned up." Alex moved her blanket back to get out of bed and saw what she was wearing. It was a man's T-shirt that went to about mid thigh. Her face flamed red, "Could you ask everyone to leave, please?"

Trevor was staring at her and had to shake himself when she spoke. "Um...sorry. Of course. Everyone out! I'll get you something to wear." He turned and walked to a door on the opposite side of the room. It was a huge walk-in closet with a sitting area and a dressing area. Alex was speechless! It was the closet of her dreams!

Cara and Mia moved to each side of her and wrapped a arm around her waist, taking an arm each they helped her stand. Alex closed her eyes as a wave of dizziness swept over her. Her legs felt like jello. "Ok Luna we're going to start to the bathroom. If you need to stop let us know." Alex could only manage a nod. Once inside,Alex looked around. There was a huge jacuzzi tub and a glass shower that could fit 5 people. There was a half wall beside the shower with a toilet and bidet. On the opposite wall was beautiful cherry wood cabinets and granite countertops with double sinks and a vanity in the middle.

"Would you like a shower or a bath Luna?" One of the twins asked. She would have to ask later who was who. "I would love a hot bath but since I haven't in a while, I think a shower would be best. Don't want to sit in my own cesspool." Alex laughed."But...I'm not sure I can stand long enough for a shower."

"Mia why don't you help Luna to the toilet and I'll go get a chair." Ok, blue tank top was Mia and red tank top was Cara. Easy breezy as long as they wore the same clothes everyday. Cara walked out and then there was a knock on the door. Mia helped her sit down and went to the door. "Is this all you have?! A T-shirt and boxers?"

"Yes! I will call Shirley to bring over some clothes." He sounded irritated.

"Fine." then Mia shut the door.

Cara came back in with a plastic chair and placed it in the middle of the shower. She arranged the soap and shampoo where Alex could reach it. "Okay...let's get you cleaned up."

By the time she was showered and dressed, Alex was fuming. Obviously this was his room and there were men's and women's toiletries in the bathroom. Why would he put her in here if he was seeing someone else. Not to mention the times he had visited her and even invited her to dinner! Alex despised a cheater!

The door opened and Shirley walked in with a big smile. "Alex dear I am so glad you're awake. you had us worried. I brought you some clothes."

"Thank you Shirley and it is nice to see you too. Could you please help me dress and get me out of here."

"Oh dear! I don't think he will allow you to leave."

"What do you mean 'allow' me?! I'm going home and no one is stopping me! Now help me get dressed!"

Shirley was frantic and linked the Alpha, "Alpha I need you upstairs. She wants to get dressed and leave!

I'll be right there!

By the time Shirley had talked with the Alpha, Alex had dressed in her underwear and was pulling her shorts on. She grabbed a T-shirt and pulled it on and was rummaging in the bag for shoes. "You didn't bring me any shoes?"

"You were meant to be on bed rest I didn't think you would need shoes."

"Fine! I'll just go barefoot." As Alex stood the door banged open.

"What's going on Alex?" Trevor frowned.

"I'm going home." Alex said with her chin in the air.

"No. Your. Not." He enunciated each work slowly.

With her brows furrowed and teeth clenched, "I do not want to be here and you can not make me stay. I don't want to be anywhere near you. I am not a prisoner here and I am leaving!"

Trevor looked hurt and it almost made her soften. Then she remembered why she was mad.

"Alex please just stay for a few days until your better."

"I can recuperate at my own home. I do not now or in the future, need your help. Thank you for taking care of me but I'm leaving."

"I don't understand, you were fine when I left so you could shower. What happened?" Trevor was starting to get angry.

"If you don't know I'm certainly not going to tell you. Stupid men." she muttered.

"Fine! Have it your way for now. This will not be our last conversation! Marcus!" He growled.

"Yes Alpha?"

"Marcus you are to escort Alex home and you will be her guard. Do not let her out of your sight."

"Hold on just a minute! I do not need nor do I want a guard! He is not coming!" Alex yelled.

"Yes he is or I'm going to handcuff you to that bed!" Trevor yelled back.

Alex couldn't see any way out of this. She looked to Shirley and all she did was shrug. With a heavy sigh, "Fine. Can I please leave now?"

"I'll carry you to the car, you are suppose to be on bed rest."

"No way buddy! you're not touching me! Moose over there can take me." Alex nodded toward Marcus.

"No one and I mean no one touches you but me!" He grabbed her in one swoop and started for the door.

Alex yelled and pounded on his chest all the way downstairs. Demanding he put her down. Marcus and Shirley were chuckling behind them. When they reached the bottom of the stairs, Alex stopped pounding and yelling when she saw ten pairs of eyes on her. She gave a small laugh and waved. "Hi"

They all bowed their heads and said in unison, "Hello Luna."

"Nice to meet you all. Okay grouchy gus, let's go. Take me to the car."

Trevor watched as they drove away and sighed, What am I going to do now? He shook his head and walked inside.
