BOOM
I covered my ears. it was currently 11:30 pm and everyone was asleep. except me. "this is annoying" I thought as thunder struck again. I sat up and looked around. it was dark and everyone was sleeping soundly. as for me I was wide awake and kinda annoyed. I stood up while my blanket was around me and quietly walked out of the room. I was at the entrance and noticed something. the library light was on. "is he still awake?" I muttered.
BOOM
I flinched and walked up the stairs. "guess we'll see" I thought. I looked inside and saw him reading calmly, a blanket draped across his lap. "oh okay maybe I shouldn't bother him" I thought backing away. Immediately I slipped on the blanket and fell forward. I fell through the door facedown. "ow" I muttered. I sat up still not opening my eyes. "So...care to tell me why you're awake Naegi?" I heard Togami say. I opened my eyes slowly and saw Togami above me his arms crossed and looking slightly annoyed. "no reason" I muttered. "storm?" he asked. I nodded. he sighed and I stood up the blanket still around me. "can I stay here?" I asked. "fine" he said walking back to the chair. I sat in one and looked at Togami. he was reading a book pretty much ignoring my entire existence.
BOOM
I jumped and buried myself under the blanket. I heard Togami scoff and the flipping of pages. "you look stupid under that blanket" he said. "oh wow thanks" I said sarcastically. "mhm whatever" he said. I poked my head out and looked at him. he was just reading and not even looking up. "go read a book" he said waving his hand toward a pile of books on the table. I picked up one, "maybe not that one" he said. "why not?" I asked. "its a horror one with graphic descriptions" he said still not looking up from his book. I put it down and picked up another one, "that's a fantasy one with greek mythology" he said. "oh i like fantasy!" I said smiling and opening it. "you seem like it" he muttered. "do you like fantasy?" I asked. he shrugged, "if its well written then yes" He said. "what do you consider well written?" I questioned. "good characters and a good plot" he said simply. "well doesn't everyone like that?" I commented. "everyone has different ideas of good plot and good characters" he said.

"I guess so" I shrugged as I read the book. BOOM. I flinched and almost dropped the book. "why are you scared of thunder?" he asked looking up. "their loud" I muttered. "if that's your logic then I wonder how you survived" he said. I sighed and continued reading.
"this peasant keeps jumping at even the slightest sounds" I thought annoyed. I was raining pretty bad and according to the weather app it's going to keep raining for 2 more days. i informed naegi of it, "great..." he muttered. "yeah your not going to survive this storm" I scoffed. "wha- why not?" he said. "your practically jumping at the slightest sound" I said flipping a page of my book. "their loud" he muttered. "you said that earlier, is there another reason?" I asked. he hesitated, "no" he said finally. "that was a total lie" I thought. but I nodded and let it go.
"so why aren't you going to sleep?" Naegi asked. "I could ask the same to you" I said. "well- I asked first" he rebuttled. I sighed, "I was just reading before going to bed" I said pushing up my glasses. "now you answer"
"I couldn't sleep" He mumbled. "is it because of the storm or another reason?" I asked. "no..no other reason" Naegi said. I narrowed my eyes, "obviously there was some hesitation...but i cant prove anything right now" I thought. "fine" I said continuing to read. thunder rang again and he flinched once more. I rolled my eyes and looked outside. "looks like its raining pretty hard" I said. "Yeah I noticed" He said. "its going to stay like this for 2 days" I rolled my eyes. "wha- 2 days?!" he cried. "yes 2 days" I said. I looked at his panicky face and smirked. "w-whats with that face?" he stammered. "nothing" I said reading.

BOOM
I dont know what sound I heard but it was a high pitched squeal. like the sound a pig would make being stepped on. and that was naegi. "seriously?" I said stifling a snicker. "sorry" he muttered. "that was an...interesting scream" I said. "it wasnt a scream" He muttered. "okay then a squeal" I said rolling my eyes. "it was loud!" he said. "its just thunder' I sighed. "yeah but its kinda...nevermind" He said hesitating. I rolled my eyes, "fine whatever" I said. I got a ding from my phone and checked it
"why did you tell them? now their going to make fun of me" he said. "i know" I said. he sighed and he looked annoyed
"don't sue my friends!" he cried. I scoffed, "their being annoying" I said. "their your friends though!" he said. "they are not my friends" I glared. he shrank back into his seat and he put the book in his face. "whatever" he mumbled
BOOM
"god damn it" I muttered as i fumbled with the book. "you really are scared of thunderstorms" Togami scoffed. "maybe" I said reading. I was halfway and it was around 11:45 pm. "you should sleep" he said. "no i'm fine" I said. he rolled his eyes, "you look tired" he said. "how?" I asked. "well 1. you have some eyebags" he pointed out. "i should of put foundation on those eyebags or something" I thought. "2. your yawning a lot" he said. "i-i have?" I asked. he nodded looking annoyed that i hadn't noticed before. "3. theres some evidence you havent been sleeping well also" he said finally. "huh? what do you mean?" I asked. he scoffed, "you texted a few times at 3:00 am" he sighed. "how did you notice?" I asked curiously. "it shows in the groupchat" he said. I nodded, "therefore you should sleep" He said. "well why do you care?" I asked. "you usually don't care about anyone"
he rolled his eyes, "i only want you to stop bothering me" he said. "so me sleeping in the library will achieve that?" I asked. "at least you'll stop talking" Togami said. "I don't talk that much" I said. he looked at me up and down and rolled his eyes. "just sleep" he said. "no i'm not tired" I said. "clearly there's a reason why you wont sleep" Togami added. "there's no reason" I lied. he narrowed his eyes at me. "obviously he's suspicious" I thought to myself. "mhm and am I supposed to believe that?" he questioned. "...maybe" I mumbled. he scoffed, "then tell the truth" he insisted. "I just don't sleep well okay" I muttered.
"and why is that?"

Macabre Mim
*Note: This story is on hiatus. I intend to pick it up again, but the mood of my life has shifted for the time being and I'm going to be working on a side project for a bit.* What would you give to live the life of your dreams? What kind of deal would you make? And when you were there, forced to stare your dreams in the eye and live them every day, how long would it be... before they broke you? Author's note: This is my first excursion outside the realm of villain fan fiction and I welcome feedback. The thing I've loved most about RRL so far is the potential for writing to be an interactive experience with excited readers. That said, also, the primary genre this is intended for is the blossoming realm of LitRPG. Namely, a slice of life tale in the manner of Grimgar or Re:Zero. So, likewise, I don't expect there will ever be a clear beginning-middle-and-end type of pattern to this story. It will likewise always be a bit more of a reactionary, exploratory novel into realms unknown - much like the 1800 travel-novel theme used by Jules Verne. Or, at least, that is my ambition.

A Broken World [Rewrite]
In a world of floating islands of stone in the sky, where rivers flow through the air and defy gravity from one island to another, and ancient ruins can be found containing wonders beyond what can be produced by the lands current inhabitants- a millenia long war rages. In the distant past, beyond recorded history, when the crown of humanity's glory, the city of Uri, had stood whole against the enroaching demon swarms- even as hope seemed lost, a band of heroes, against all odds, managed to steal powerful magical knowledge from the demons. With the demon's forbidden knowledge, in the heart of Uri a new ritual was made. Called, "The Millenial Summoning," the ritual had the power to call a being from another world that would have the power to change the world forever. The first being summoned became known as "The Speaker," and he brought the power of the Gods to the world. With the blessings and power of the new priests, the unstoppable demon hordes were finally halted. A thousand years later, the ritual was used again and "The First Sorceress" was brought to the world. She brought the knowledge of advanced magics, and techniques to find and refine magical talent. With the magic power now added to the battlefield, the stalemate was broken. And for the first time, the demons were pushed back. Another thousand years later, and all of humanites hope for a final victory were dashed. Traitors slew the ritual's participants and took their places, and humanity quaked as The Demon King stepped into the world. His name, his nature, where he came from none of these are known, but what is known is his overwhelming power and his brilliant strategic leadership of the formerly formless hordes. Still, despite their position being even more dire than it has ever been since history has been recorded, humanity held on for another thousand years. Aided, thankfully, by The Demon King not taking the field after the first few years and battles. Now, the ritual is being cast again and a new hero is being summoned. In our world, after nearly three decades of study and hard work, Lucas Jaeger is making his dreams come true. With a double doctorate in both genetics and microbiology, as well as an associates degree in accounting, he has finally, after nearly driving himself mad from stress and sick from overwork, been able to put to together a presentation and ask for a business loan. His long time dream, earned by his own blood and sweat, to start his own commercial genetic company is finally coming to fruition. Lucas's car never left the banks parking lot and Lucas was never seen again in our world. This is a rewrite of "A Broken World." It is basically the same story, just a thousand times better and with decent length chapters!

Curse of Change (Hiatus)
(Hiatus to work of my other fiction)What if the world was keeping secrets? Secrets so dark and powerful that one must simply be unaware of them lest they be destroyed. Experiments that are too horrible to reveal, hidden monsters too terrible to release. Darkness the overwhelms the light, power that trumps all, beings of ferocity unseen by the masses. What would you do if you stumbled across one of these secrets? What COULD you do?------------------------------------------------------------[Hey everyone, this is MultiBlitz15. Apart from writing stories for english class in school, this is my first time ever writing a fiction, so please bear with me. I intend this to be a story involving the ""what if's"" of life and the darker sides of humanity. The story will start on Earth but will escalate into something much, much more. That is where the fantasy tag will come into play. On the topic of tags, some of them may not be permanent and some simply haven't been added yet. Also, I DO NOT intend to include sex scenes or major tragedy in my fiction. While there might be sexual references and minor tragedies, there shouldn't be anything beyond that. Finally, this fiction is rated Mature 18+ due to the incredible amounts of blood, gore, brutality, and other stuff I intend to include. Thank you, and please enjoy the story!](P.S If you find grammar mistakes, please let me know in the comments, I would greatly appreciate it.)(P.P.S I finished adding more content to the previous chapters!!)

Strange Convergences
Seemingly disparate events transpire in one world, the same world, different worlds. Seers, psychopaths, paragons, all acting according to the truths they perceive. Who are these people, and why do they matter? They're trying to answer that question themselves. Strange Convergences is a series of short stories revolving around multiple protagonists, simple and complex, kind or devious, who might be seeing another world, or who might be in the real one. Some stories will contain mild horror themes. Pertinent content warnings will be enumerated at the top of each story as needed. "roots (racines)" by PATRICE OUELLET is licensed with CC BY-NC-ND 2.0.
