She looked around. She didn't know where she was; all she knew was the warmth from whatever she was wrapped in. She remembered someone putting her down somewhere, but that was all. She couldn't sleep.
She didn't want to sleep. She wanted to see that person again; she felt safe around her. But she just walked away! Didn't she care for her? Didn't...anyone? She heard a sort of magical sound, and then she shut her eyes, not wanting to be blinded by the light that appeared.
Yellow sat in the nursery, in the chair Blue would always sit in when feeding the gemlings or trying to get them to sleep. She wanted nothing to do with anything or anyone. She made her pearl and Blue's pearl stand outside the room, and she had gone in when the gemlings were asleep so she wouldn't have to do anything.
"My Diamond!" Yellow Pearl rushed in. Yellow Diamond didn't even care about how abruptly she'd called her. "What?" she answered, rudely. "Chalcedony called for you! You must come to the clinic immediately!" Yellow Diamond rolled her eyes and stood up to walk to the clinic. She creaked open the door, expecting nothing. But her eyes tear up immediately after taking a peek.
Blue Diamond laid on the bed, the covers draped over her lower half. She'd reformed in a dress with tulle over the torso portion.
Her head turned in Yellow's direction, and she gave a smile. Yellow slowly walked over to her, wondering if someone was messing with her or if this was a dream. She lifted Blue's hand and pressed it to her cheek. Blue smiled at her with the smile Yellow had missed so much.
The corners of Yellow's mouth turned upward. "This...This is real...No one's messing with me.." Blue chuckled, "No one would even dare to mess with you, darling..." She took her hand back and took Yellow's hand in both of hers. "...Oh, I've missed you." Yellow scoffed, "You missed me? I physically cannot explain how much I missed you." She pressed a kiss to Blue's forehead.

"Don't ever do that to me again," Yellow said.
Blue giggled, "I won't; promise." She pulled Yellow closer so that their noses touched. "If we decide to have another, things won't be like this. It will be better." She pecked the tip of Yellow's nose. She cupped her cheek. "I love you, Yellow." "I love you, as well. More than you'll ever know." "Aww~" "Hush."
Blue giggled. "Is that our little girl?" She gestured toward the cot in the corner. "Indeed," Yellow answered. "Bring her here, please?" Yellow lifted the gemling out of the cot and places her in Blue's arms. "Aww, she's so little," she cooed, pulling her closer. "You'll love her eyes, darling." "Hm?" Blue looked down at the gemling, whose eyes were peeking open. Her eyes widened at the sight of her daughter's heterochromatic eyes.
"Oh, they're just beautiful~" she sighed happily. "Have the girls seen her yet?" "They can, if you want them to." "Maybe tomorrow, when she's admitted out of here?" "That's fine by me."
Blue took a finger under the baby's chin and lifted upward. "Cutie~ Oh, Yellow, we haven't even named her!" "Hm...Well, what would you like to name her?" "...I like the name Iris. Something about it caught my attention." "So...Iris?" Blue nodded, "Iris."
"Perfect."

Ruins of Dalághast
I've been writing for as long as I can remember, but I'd always been torn between different projects. That's why I decided to dedicate myself to a pretty strict schedule of writing and editing a single chapter every month since the start of 2019. This is an ongoing, work in progress novel that follows a ragtag group of sellswords as they delve into a lost city on the edge of the known world in search of their fortunes. Within, though, they find much more than they ever expected and find themselves in a race against time to unravel a mystery centuries old. For those who want to see my work months earlier than it will be released here, alongside exclusive artwork and other perks, consider supporting me and my work on Patreon. https://www.patreon.com/atlaswrites
