Merry Christmas everyone. It's Christmas eve so I thought a new chapter would look good in your stockings. The chapter was fun to write, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Safe holidays.

The plane landed and we were directed to a town car - the driver seeming to know where we were going without being told.
For the way we were dressed I expected a fancy ballroom type affair withing the city we landed in, only to be overwhelmed with the beauty of an old-style manor outside the city.
Large columns adorned the front of the mansion leaving me feeling very small. Men dressed in fine suits milled about the entrance, beautiful women smiling politely on their arms.
A man dressed in a red vest and black pants opened the car door as we came to a stop in front of the grand doors. Caine exited the car - fixing his coat - his hand extending back into the car to take my hand.
I was still trying to take as much as I could in while he wrapped my arm in the crook of his, slowly leading his way into the house. My heels clicked loudly on the marble stairs leading inside.
Eyes turned towards us on our approach, their heads bowing slightly when we passed.
"This place is a dream. How do they manage to keep all the windows clean?"
A low chuckle beside me made me look at Caine for a moment but I couldn't stop them from moving back to look around. Besides the overuse of windows, perfectly manicured gardens bordered the building.
"We just spent 3hrs on a plane, arrived at a gathering in the middle of nowhere and you're wondering how they clean their windows?" Amusement filled his voice. I was glad he was enjoying my moment of awe.
Stepping inside was like walking into a whole new world.
Frocks of every colour whirled around a large open room. What I had mistaken for a house was actually just one very big room. The place is filled with talking and laughter. Men and women dancing in perfect rhyme to the soft music produced from the orchestra playing on the raised platform in the center of the room.
Surrounding the edges tall tables lined the room, small groups of people standing around eating and drinking while enjoying themselves could be seen flitting to different tables happily talking with others they know.

A gentle tug on my arm captured my attention. Caine openly stared at me, a smile lighting up his face. Placing my other hand on top of the one already wrapped around his arm, I turned my body so it pressed up against his side.
I still hadn't forgiven him for working me up in the plane only to leave me wanting.
With my chest rubbing on his arm, I tried to use a sexy voice.
"Ask me to dance, Caine." My eyes never leaving his.
"I don't like to dance Yasmin. Come let's find a table and some refreshments." Taking a step away from me, Caine searched the room before finding I place suitable. I released his arm as he began walking towards a corner of the well-lit room.
I carefully walked backward until I was at the edge of the dance floor my gown sweeping my feet. Caine stopped, spinning to find where I had gone. His eyes hardened when he noticed me at the edge of the dancing bodies.
I had no idea if I knew how to dance the way these people were but I knew I could move my hips enough to tease the man who watched me carefully.
"Yasmin, I said no. Now come." His voice was stern, ordering me not to disobey him.
With a small smile, I turned from him making my way to an empty area in the middle of the spinning bodies. My nerves were racing, more than one pair of eyes were now on me. No doubt wondering who this strange girl was and what was she doing standing in the middle of the dance floor with no partner.
Blocking out everyone else I focused on my target. Raising my eyebrow at him I smiled once more. My silent question answered with a slight shake of his head, no.
The music was slow. I could almost call it passionate, and it was perfect.
I slowly began to move my hips side to side. My eyes locked with Caine's. I could hear the whispers starting around me as more people started to watch the crazy girl on the dance floor. On the inside, I was dying of embarrassment but I wasn't going to lose this time.
Swallowing, I slowly ran my hands up the side of my body over my breast. I closed my eyes as my hands felt the mounds under my palms, never once stopping the moment of my hips. My hands paused for a second as I enjoyed the pressure against my chest.

My eye still shut I no longer cared how many people witnessed my provocative dance. My hand continued towards the back of my neck and up until I held them slightly above my body. Spinning so I faced away from him, my body continued to move with the music. My whole body was heating as I dipped a little, sticking my butt out slightly. The tight dress molding perfectly around my figure. My hands made a slow procession back down my body only to find their way to the soft mounds of my rear.
Firm hands spun me around forcefully - holding me close. "You have no idea what danger you just put yourself in." His breath brushed against my ear.
With a smile on my face, I kept dancing, now using Caine as my pole to hold. I opened my eyes to see black orbs staring down at me. My core tightened in response to the sight. I draped one hand over his shoulder while he just stood there, the other creeping to his chest. Nimbly I unbuttoned one of his shirt buttons, sliding my hand inside to rest on his peck.
"This place could be burning down around us Caine but the fire in my veins will still be hotter." Not waiting to hear a response, I dropped my head back so my face was to the ceiling. My body still wrapped around his I pushed my pelvis harder into his as my hips ground against his.
I small growl rumbled in his chest then his lips were at my neck. His sharp teeth dragging across my skin making me shiver in response. His mouth closed around the flesh at the base of my throat as he sucked a little.
I knew it would leave a mark but right this second as the heat grew in my body, I could only demand whatever touch he was willing to give. Releasing the skin from his mouth his tongue darted across my salty skin followed by a groan.
I wasn't sure if the noise was coming from me or him but either way, it made my body ache. His warm hands encircled my body completely. Pulling me so close to his person my movements stilled, no longer was I able to move, his grip held me too tight.
His teeth scraped my neck once more, harder than the first time. The pressure against my skin becoming harder.
I throat cleared close by and yet we remained as we are. The throat cleared once more but louder.
Caine froze in place, realizing where we were at last. My eyes snapped open and I lowered my face to look at the throat clearer. It was only then I noticed every eye in the building was on us. The music had stopped sometime in our sensual dance and a man and women had come to stand beside us.
The man was not as tall as Caine, but he was still tall. Dark hair was slicked back and the suit he wore was well fitted and looked expensive. The stern look on his face was in complete contrast to the small women beside him. Her light brown hair was pulled back neatly and she looked just as uptight as he did, but her eyes were rimmed with unshed tears.
Caine pushed me behind him as he spoke. "Bristol."
The name felt familiar to me but slipped away before I could grasp it.
"You need to take your hands off the girl, Caine." I could feel the hatred drip from every word the man spoke.
"I don't have to do anything. She is mine and it has nothing to do with you." Caine sounded calm but I noticed his hands ball into fists.
Without thinking I reached down wrapping my hands around one of his. His fingers relaxed, interlocking our hands together.
Feeling brave, I stepped beside Caine, speaking to the rude couple in front of us.
"I don't know who you are, but it isn't up to you who I am with." My free hand wrapped around the wrist of Caine's hand that was locked with mine.
A small whimper came from the women's mouth as she took a small step forward. "Yas baby, it's us. Mum and Dad. We have been looking for you since your birthday."
Confused, I searched the faces of the two people standing in front of me. Other than the one fleeting moment of familiarity earlier, these two people were strangers to me.
I faced Caine, pulling on his arm so he would look at me. "Caine, I want to leave. Now."
With one last look at the people who claim to be my parents. I turned and headed for the door. The steady clicking of the heals the only thing breaking the quiet of the room.

The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
