《You Make Me Crazy [BangtanBoys/BTS Jungkook]》Chapter 17: Dad's best friend

A/N: Dedictated to Btssweg because I wasn't able to keep my promise to update in time. Omg I'm sorry. But life's so hard. I shouldn't make promises anymore lol
I just lied in my bed and closed my eyes for a short second until I got a message. I looked on my phone and since I was too lazy to sit up, my phone suddenly fell on my face and I groaned in pain. Well, god seemed to hate me as well.
"What a day." I murmured and unlocked my phone to read the message. To my surprise it was Taehyung. He sent me a bunch of emoticons and my notification sound didn't stop. After replying him You're so stupid he thankfully stopped. But Instead, he called me afterwards and I didn't know how to react since it was incredibly uncomfortable.
I held my phone on my ear expecting him to say something but none of us shared a word or wanted to start the conversation first.
- "You okay? "
- "Why? Did you think I would go crazy or anything because of your confession? "
- "Probably. You literally froze." He laughed in amusement.
- "I-I wasn't!" I quickly answered trying to defend myself.
- "But you acted weird today. Why are you so absent?"
I didn't answer. This made me remember when I saw Jungkook today. Terrible feeling. Seeing him made my heart already in indescribable pain. Sometimes I wish we humans wouldn't be so sensitive.
- "Hey, you still there?"
I nodded but soon realized that he couldn't see me. Yeah, stupid me.
- "I am." I replied, my thoughts still a mess and it was obvious how dreamy I was just by my voice.
There was few seconds of silence again before Taehyung started to speak.
- "You know", he said in a rather serious and calm tone, "I don't expect an immediate answer from you."
My eyes grew large yet I felt relieved since I didn't have to rush myself. This was just a huge mess.
- "It's a difficult situation for you right now. Don't feel too pressured because of me."He then added. "But I'm still waiting for an answer although this could take awhile."
- "Weren't you supposed to cheer me up?" I asked suspiciously. This was getting too serious and I didn't have any energy left for more depressing moments. I needed happiness even though a tiny bit.
- "What? I have feelings too and sometimes I need to share my thoughts with somebody." I could clearly imagine how Taehyung just grinned.
- "Whatever." I replied. "What are your plans for tomorrow?" I asked.
- "Dad wants me to go somewhere with him. Nothing special."
- "Where?"
- '' I have no idea.'' He laughed. ''I need to go now. Gonna see you at school.''
- ''Sure.'' I answered and hung up. To say it short, I hated my life. It was a real struggle and I had no idea how to deal with these problems. I might lose Taehyung and that was something I was mostly afraid of at the moment.
--
It was friday morning as I looked out of the window. Autumn was a beautiful season yet it has this particular lonely feeling. Red and orange leaves were falling down and it was already getting cold, a little too cold. Dad was planning to go somewhere eat with me after school and I was pretty okay with it. We both didn't spend much time together since we moved to Seoul and both of us were pretty busy with our own things. He told me how much granny missed me and that I should visit her very soon. I really liked my grandmother, because she always played barbie with me when I was little and my parents were busy working all day. She was someone I treasured.

As the first period was about to begin and the teacher just wanted to start the lesson, Jungkook suddenly stormed into the room. Like everyone else, except for the teacher, I was surprised but soon shifted my gaze to the front. I couldn't stand having him around me anymore and because I had no other choice and had to stay in this damn room my anger increased.
"I'm not even surprised that you're late. At least you attend school." Mr. Lee commented. Jungkook shrugged it off, as expected, and went to his place.
Since he was sitting in front of me it was difficult to focus on the lesson and whenever he turned around I quickly gazed at my books, literally digging holes into it. I counted the seconds until the lesson ended to be the first to leave.
--
''Yeon Seul!'' Someone shouted my name as I left the school. I turned around to see who it was and saw dad waving at me.
''What are you doing here?'' I asked. As much as I know he didn't tell me he would pick me up today.
''Do you have any dresses?'' Dad suddenly asked making me more confused than I already was.
''W-what?'' I furrowed my eyebrows.
''Tell me, otherwise we have to go home and look at your warderobe.''
''I, uh, don't think so?''
''Fine. Let's go.''
''Where are we going?'' I asked and got in the car.
''Buying a dress for you.'' He answered, not even looking at me. My eyes widened. Why the hell did I have to buy a dress? Dad usually never asked me things like this.
''I thought we're going home or go eat.'' I pouted and crossed my arms.
''Later. We still have few hours.''
''Wait...,'' I turned my head to look at him, ''you didn't tell me that we're going to have dinner with someone else!'' I whined.
''Wasn't it obvious?'' He answered calmly.
''No! It wasn't!'' I shouted. I didn't like meeting new people since it's always so damn awkward and I would rather die than eat dinner with someone I've never met before. And I want to point out it was a dinner in a fucking restaurant, which is the worst thing to meet new people and the risk of having an awkward atmosphere was incredibly high. If you're good and talkative there won't be any problems, but for someone like me it was horror. I hated talking to complete strangers, so I always keep my mouth shut until the end.
''God, puberty has reached it's level.'' He commented.
''Dad!'' I glared at him, my face already red because of my anger.
''Calm down, it's just Mr. Kim."
"Your friend?"
"Best friend." he corrected.
"Why making a fuss because of that?"
"Stop asking so much. You'll see it soon enough."
We started to look for dresses and I wasn't in the mood at all to try something on. The young lady who was working in the clothing store helped me and my dad to pick few dresses. The selection was huge and I already started to get a headache. They all were pretty much tight and stuck to my body but both dad and the employee seemed to like the dress. My cheeks got a little red since I never wore something like this. In the end, I could convince dad to let me wear another dress and I got to wear a dress, which wasn't so skin tight. It was a whine red dress, middle length and with some leather here and there. Not that it was already enough and yeah, it was way too expensive, he decided to buy a few other dresses. It was probably useless, because I would probaly never wear them.

"It's too expensive." I whispered as we were about to pay.
"So what? It's not like we're poor or something." Dad answered.
''I don't need dresses like this.''
Dad didn't answer and we left the store and headed home. I didn't eat anything properly today and I was about to pass out if I won't eat anything.
As we finally arrived, I immediately jumped onto the couch. I had no energy and didn't really want to go out anymore.
''They're going to pick us up.''
''Yeah, as if I care.'' I mumbled.
''What did you say?'' Dad asked.
''Nothing.'' I rolled my eyes and turned on the tv. It was already around 6 o'clock in the evening and dad suddenly exclaimed from the other room already wearing his suit.
''Stop watching, we need to get dressed now. They'll come very soon.''
''Is this restaurant that special and expensive that we have to dress like this?'' I asked annoyed.
''Yes, it is.'' He answered.
''Fine.'' I sighed and went upstairs to my room and got dressed. I looked at the mirror and I couldn't believe what I was doing. Watching myself in the mirror, I had to admit that the dress looked quite pretty. I decided to keep my hair loose, which is a littly wavy. I played games on my phone as the doorbell rang. I suddenly started to get nervous and I didn't know why.
''YeonSeul. Come down, they're here.'' Dad exclaimed. I went downstairs and saw a figure next to Mr. Kim, but I couldn't see his face. Dad stood at the door and started talking. As I stood next to Dad, I couldn't believe who I saw.
''We've met before right?'' Mr. Kim smiled at me. I froze. Still confused I bowed at him. Judging by his face, he was a surprised as me and his eyes widened as he analyzed me.
''This is Kim Taehyung.'' He introduced Dad and me to him.
''So... y-you are his son?'' I asked slowly.
''You know each other?'' Dad suddenly spoke and I nodded, still shocked.
''Let's go then.'' Mr Kim said and I saw this luxurious black car.
Although I know Taehyung, it was still awkward for both of us. I couldn't stop thinking about this confession and I regretted it that it had to be me. Our dads were rather talking and laughing and it was getting worse as they met other friends and the dinner turned into a party I would say. It's been already a few hours and luckily I didn't have school for the next few days.
''What about you guys go first? The lights are pretty.'' Dad suddenly said out of nowhere.
''I'm going to call you when we leave.'' Mr. Kim said. Both of us didn't say anything. It was like we got kicked out from our dads and I still couldn't get what is going on right now.
We just stood in front of the restaurant, not exchanging many words.
''I didn't know you are rich.'' I looked at him.
''Well, I would rather say we have just a little more money than some ordinary people.'' Taehyung replied.
''Rich.''
''Don't say that. I don't like being called rich.''
''Why?'' I asked.
''Just because.'' He paused. ''Maybe because of fake friends.'' Even though I wasn't rich, I could understand him. ''Bad experience.'' He added, his voice still calm.
''By the way you look pretty today.'' Taehyung said and looked at me. My cheeks flushed pink and I prayed to god that he wouldn't see it.
''You look handsome too in this suit.''
''Dad forced me to wear this. It's too formal, don't you think?''
''Exactly what I thought.'' I laughed.
''Aaah, this is just too awkward.'' He hid his face behind his hands and laughed. I looked at him and I don't know why but he was kind of cute. It was so cold that smoke came out of our mouths whenever we spoke or breathed. I wondered when they would finish their dinner and save us, or only me, from this cold.
Taehyung suddenly came closer and gave me his scarf.
''You're freezing.'' He said and smiled at me.
''They take so long.'' I pouted. Taehyung pulled me close to wrap me up with his scarf. He slightly squeezed my cheeks.
''Thank you.'' I smiled.
''Taehyung?'' I heard somebody say and saw Rahee and Jungkook together. Seeing them together made me want to cry and beat up Jungkook. But I couldn't.
''What are you two doing here?'' Rahee asked and she had such an annoying voice that made me so pissed off. ''Don't tell me you two have a date.'' She said shocked and suddenly started laughing.
''Mind your own business.'' Taehyung replied.
''And why did you touch her cheeks? You two seemed really happy.'' She smirked and suddenly took Jungkook's hand and kissed him on the cheeks. I couldn't watch this any longer. Jungkook kept silent and just looked at me with an expression I couldn't describe.
''Let's go Taehyung.'' I said while taking Taehyung's hands and went back to the restaurant.

Hello guys! :) Some of you guys wanted more YeonSeul and Taehyung moments and that was exactly what I actually planned as well.A few people already thought that YeonSeul's father's best friend would be Jungkook. But I personally thought it is too mainstream, that's why I decided that Taehyung is his son. looooool

Making of a Genius [A Progression LitRPG]
What does it take to climb to the top of the academic ladder? Lexus came face to face with his mediocrity the moment he arrived at Cambridge University to study computer science. There was a ceiling that he could not overcome, an intellectual world that was unreachable. But if you give a chicken an eagle's wings, it will fly higher than you could ever imagine. And that was exactly what happened to Lexus: with the help of a system, he could make it big. Schedule:1 chapter per week (every Friday evening at 5:30pm GMT). The weekly schedule is to allow time for research and factual accuracy where required. Author's Note: The story is about a computer science student at university, gradually improving and embarking on the path to become a world-renowned genius-level expert with the help of a system. There'll be a lot of studying and academics, but imagine being the best in your year. Easily. At that point, academics stops being stressful and starts being fun, doesn't it? The initial chapters are heavy on mathematical detail, but I don't expect anyone to actually read through them thoroughly. It's fine to skim them or even skip them, but I hope you try to get a sense of the progress being made, and feel happy for Lexus when something 'clicks' inside his brain :) As the story progresses, later chapters will go into less depth into individual questions, though I aim to remain consistent in terms of scientific accuracy/feasibility. Welcome, and I hope you enjoy the story!
