I woke up early that day because I was gonna drop by Mingde to give Shancai and the boys their presents. I was wearing a black mini dress with white vertical stripes over a collared white and blue striped long-sleeved top with white socks and black patent leather Mary Jane stilettos. I had on a white beret and a blue studded bag with a doodle of an owl.

When I arrived it was about 8 am, the boys still had class so I decided to look for Shancai. I bumped into Qinghe.

"Shuijing! Hi!" he said cheerfully and I smiled.

" Hi Qinghe, have you seen Shancai by any chance? I have something for her." I asked as I gestured to the large paper bag I was holding.

"I'm not sure. Maybe she's at the rooftop Shuijing." He answered and I nodded and went on my way.

When I walked up, I could hear people talking. One was Shancai and the other sounded like Lei. I hid from them and listened in on their conversation. I peeked in from the corner of a wall so that I could see them a little.

"You're dating Ah Si?" I heard Lei ask.

"I'm not. I never agreed to it. It's all his idea." Shancai defended.

"Good," Lei said which made me frown. What was his deal?

"Shancai, be my girlfriend." Lei declared which almost made me drop the bag I was holding.

"Am I not better than Ah Si?" Lei pressed which made me mad. Why was Lei acting like this?

"Are you...Are you really Huaze Lei?" Shancai asked, clearly shocked at his behavior.

"I'm just kidding. Did you believe me? You're so cute." Lei said as he laughed. That's just cruel.

"Kidding?" Shancai asked as she stared at him. Lei stared at the sky.

"I can't steal Ah Si's girlfriend. He's my brother." Lei said but then he turned to Shancai.

"Are you disappointed? How about we secretly date behind Ah Si's back? Doesn't that sound exciting?" Lei teased as he leaned in closer to her. What the hell? This wasn't the Lei I grew up with. He pulled away from Shancai and smiled.

"Did you believe it again?" He teased and that was the last straw. I stepped out from behind the wall, holding the paper bag. Shancai probably heard the clacking of my heels and turned to me.

"Shuijing." She said which made Lei turn to me. I gave Shancai a small smile as I walked up to her.

"Shancai, I was looking for you. I got you something." I said as I handed her the paper bag.

"What's this for?" she asked she took it from my hands. I gave her a smile.

"Just something you can use," I said as I winked at her. There were makeup and a few clothes in the bag. She smiled.

"Thank you Shuijing." She said and I nodded. Then, I turned to Lei.

"Shancai, I believe your class is starting," I said, keeping my eyes on Lei. She nodded and walked away. Lei looked at me with a smile.

"What Shuijing?" he asked teasingly but I wasn't having it.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I said as I crossed my arms across my chest.

"What? I was just joking around." He said as he laughed.

"It wasn't funny Lei. You shouldn't play with other people's feelings. You know Shancai likes you and you're well aware of the fact that she's very important to Ah Si." I scolded then suddenly he walked closer to me. He gave me a smile and leaned in closer.

"Perhaps you'd wanna be my girlfriend instead? I can make you forget all about your feelings for a certain F4 member. Just think about the headlines it would create. " He said and my eyes widened in shock as my mind wandered to Meizuo. I glared at Lei.

"Are you kidding me, Lei? What the hell happened to the boy I grew up with?" I angrily said but he just shrugged and laughed.

"It was just an option Shui.. besides, what makes you think Meizuo will love you anyway? Your parents don't, why should he?" He said as he leaned in and he was trying to kiss but I slapped him across the face in disgust. I didn't even realize that tears were rolling down my face.

"What the hell! Just because you're hurt over your breakup with Jie doesn't mean you should take it out and use other people to forget about the pain you're feeling. Using me or Shancai to forget about Jie will not help you, Lei! We both know how much you love her and you'll probably always love her. And you of all people should understand what I'm feeling Lei because you're the first person I told besides Jie when I found out I was in love with Meizuo. I cried my heart out to you every time my parents said that Jie was better than me or why I couldn't be as perfect as her. But now you're using it against me. For what? For you to numb whatever you're feeling? We're your family Lei. If you're hurting, talk to us and stop acting like a complete stranger but if your plan was to cut us off and live like a jerk, congratulations. You didn't just lose Jing but me as well." I said as I turned to leave.

I ran downstairs as the tears from my eyes continued to fall. I kept running and didn't even see someone coming at me. I bumped into him and muttered a 'sorry' and continued to walk away but he pulled me back.

"Shuijing?" I looked up with tears in my eyes. Meizuo.

"What happened? Why are you crying? Are you hurt?" he asked frantically as he held me by my arms but I just shook my head and sobbed onto his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and rocked us back and forth.

"Zuo.." I tried to talk but no words came out.

"What's wrong? Hm?" he asked as he rubbed my back in comfort.

I didn't answer and just sobbed harder onto his chest which made him hug me tighter.

"I just couldn't believe he would do that to me Zuo.. he was like a whole different person.." I said as I leaned into Meizuo who kept his arm around me while I nuzzled his neck. I told him what happened and what Lei had said to me, leaving out the part that I was in love with Meizuo. We were in the Bridge club room. Ximen was still in class while Ah Si went to see Shancai.

"Me either.," he said as he sighed and rubbed my shoulder.

"I guess losing Jie really took a toll on him, I just wish he talked to us rather than putting on this facade that he's fine," I said as I sniffled.

"Hey, come on. Stop crying okay? You're making me insecure." Meizuo teased which made me confused.

"Insecure?" I asked.

"How can you still be this pretty after crying? I'm supposed to be the pretty one in the group," he said dramatically as he squished my face in his hands. I slapped them away and scowled but I played along.

"I knew it! Feng Meizuo, you're jealous of my beauty." I bragged as I flipped my hair and gave him a smile. He laughed and pinched my cheek.

"There's that smile," he said as he softly smiled. I smiled back.

He caressed my cheek with his hand and suddenly leaned in.. closer.. and closer.

His lips were less than a centimeter away from mine. I closed my eyes...

"Meizuo? Are you in here?"I opened my eyes and we both pulled away quickly, blushing as we heard Ximen coming down the stairs. He saw me and gave me a smile.

"Hi Shuijing." He said as he gave me a hug.

"What's up?" Meizuo asked nonchalantly.

"Ah Si said to go home and pack because we're going on a trip," Ximen said as my eyes widened. So like Ah Si to plan a trip at the last minute.

"Alright. I gotta go, guys, I'll meet you at the airport." I said as I walked out of the club room and drove home to pack, trying not to think about the fact that Meizuo and I almost kissed.

Not even an hour later, I finished packing. Meizuo mentioned something about a beach so he said to pack an extra set of clothes to change into when we got there. I grabbed my luggage, phone, and a long white cardigan before heading out. As I locked my front door, I heard honking so I turned my head and saw Meizuo's car pulling up. He got out and took my luggage from me as I walked to the passenger seat beside him. After placing my luggage in the trunk, he got in as well. My mind flashed to what had happened earlier. Meizuo seemed awkward too so i decided to make some conversation, not wanting the whole ride to the airport awkward.

"Where's Ximen and Ah Si? " I asked as I buckled my seatbelt, purposely leaving out Lei.

"Ximen and Lei are already at the airport while Ah Si is waiting for Shancai's class to end. We'll meet them there." He answered as he buckled his own seat belt and proceeded to drive to the airport. It was quiet for a while when my phone suddenly rang. I looked at the caller ID: Shancai.

"Hello? Shancai" I answered which made Meizuo turn to me and then back at the road. I put the phone in speaker mode so he could hear.

"Shuijing, I need your help! Daoming Si is trying to kidnap me!" She said which made me and Meizuo laugh. I could hear Ah Si complaining in the background.

"Shancai, he's not okay? Don't worry, I'm going on the trip too. He won't bully you." I teased as I stifled a laugh.

"B-but Shuijing-"

"Ah Si and I already talked to your parents and I assured them that you'd be safe and enjoy yourself okay? Bye Shancai! I'll see you at the airport!" I said as I hung up.

"WAIT- SHUIJING-"

We arrived at the airport in less than 30 minutes. I got out of the car while Meizuo grabbed our luggage from the trunk. He passed me mine and offered me his arm which I wove my arm around. We walked through the airport, looking for Ximen and Lei.

"Meizuo! Shuijing! Over here!" We heard Ximen call out as he waved us over. He had a date and so did Lei. He brought Kiki and stole a glance at me guiltily. Meizuo grabbed my suitcase and led me to a chair farther from Lei and sat down beside me. He kept his arm behind my chair as I leaned back and played with my phone. A few minutes later, Ah Si and Shancai had arrived. I stood up and greeted Shancai who looked at me with a sheepish smile. Ximen walked over and handed us our tickets with our seat numbers. I had an aisle seat while Meizuo was next to me with a window seat. In front of us were Ah Si and Shancai., Ximen, and his date beside us, and Lei and Kiki behind us.

"Let's go?" Ah Si asked as he dragged his and Shancai's luggage. We all nodded and proceeded to follow him. Shancai stuck to my side and I gave her a side hug and walked alongside Meizuo. When we had boarded, I could hear Ah Si and Shancai's conversation.

"Hey. I'm warning you. When we get to the island, don't run off on your own." Ah Si reminded.

"Is it dangerous there?" Shancai asked.

"Yes. You're a ticking time-bomb. You might hurt someone." Ah Si teased.

"Daoming Si." Shancai scolded. All of a sudden, there was some turbulence which I could faintly see Shancai latching onto Ah Si's arm as I leaned back and nudged Meizuo who shook his head and laughed.

"This is going to be a long flight." He commented as I nodded in agreement. My eyes began to close and without knowing it, I had fallen asleep.

After an hour, I woke up to Meizuo poking my cheek. I opened my eyes and realized I had fallen asleep on his shoulder. I blushed and looked away.

"You still drool when you sleep Shuijing?" He teased which made me look at him with wide eyes.

"I do not!" I defended as I slapped him on the shoulder. We laughed and I laid my head back on my seat.

"Why'd you wake me up anyway?" I asked as I closed my eyes again.

"The pilot said we're arriving in a few minutes so you may wanna change your clothes." He pointed out and I opened my eyes to see he had already changed out of his thick clothes and was now in a plain white shirt and loose pajama pants. The rest of the boys were too as well as Ximen's date and Kiki. Only Shancai and I weren't dressed for the island. I stood up and grabbed my bag with my clothes above me and told Ah Si to wake up Shancai. She turned to Ah Si with an annoyed look.

"Go with Shuijing and change your clothes. I don't want you bothering other people on this plane." Ah teased which made Shancai raise her hand to hit Ah Si but I grabbed it and made our way to the bathroom.

"Okay! Let's go Shancai!" I said as we went in to change. Shancai came out first in a white shirt, white shorts, and slippers. She had on her black flannel on while I was in a white crocheted long-sleeved crop top and denim shorts with flip flops. I grabbed my clothes and dropped Shancai off to Ah Si before heading back to Meizuo.

Another 30 minutes passed and the plane finally landed. Meizuo tapped my shoulder and gestured for me to look out the window. He leaned back to make room for me to see. The ocean looked gorgeous and the place itself was beautiful. I gave him a smile and contained my excitement as the pilot announced it was okay to disembark from the plane.

I grabbed my luggage and Meizuo held out his hand for me to take. I looked to Shancai as she took in her surroundings in amazement. Ah Si handed us our rooms and I got a room to myself much to Shancai's disappointment. I guess she didn't like her roommate who was Ah Si.

"Why are you, my roommate? Why can't it be Shuijing?" Shancai complained as Ah Si laughed in amusement.

"So I can keep an eye on you. I don't want you getting lost or bothering people." he joked as I laughed. We all headed to our rooms to get some rest and freshen up before dinner.

I had changed into a white oversized shirt tucked into black shorts and some brown sandals and I was just lying down on my bed, playing with my phone when I heard someone knock on my door. My head perked up.

"Come in," I said as Meizuo popped his head in the doorway.

"Time for dinner Shui." He said as he helped me sit up. I nodded and grabbed my black zip-up hoodie and headed out with Meizuo. The others were already there and I sat across from Shancai and Ah Si with Ximen and Meizuo on either side of me. We ate and Ah Si kept telling that stupid story of how he caught some squid in Sanya over and over. I got annoyed and threw him a banana which prompted him to shut up and the others to laugh.

"Meizuo. Perform for us." Ximen suggested which made me roll my eyes and laugh. Shancai, Kiki, and Ximen's date look confused but the rest of us knew where this was going.

"All right, listen up. 3.1415926535897932384626." Meizuo recited as I shook my head and laughed.

"Show off," I muttered as I drank my juice which made Meizuo glare at me playfully. I turned to look at Lei who was staring into space while Kiki shook him a little to get his attention.

"Lei. Your friend is so amusing." She said gleefully which made Lei turn to her with a small smile.

"What about me? Am I not amusing?" He flirted as he smirked. Kiki giggled shyly while I groaned internally.

"Don't you play the violin? When will you play it for me?" She flirted back which made me scowl in annoyance.

"Only special people can hear me play the violin," Lei answered as he turned back to look at Shancai who looked away.

"How do I become a special person?" Kiki asked.

"You need to like me more," Lei stated as he looked at her.

"Do I not like you enough? That's not fair. I like you a lot." Kiki exclaimed.

"You're so naughty." She added and Lei laughed haughtily which made my eyes widen. The rest of the boys were shocked too. Meizuo rubbed my hand to calm me down. I wasn't exactly thrilled about seeing my sister's ex-boyfriend flirt with another girl in front of me.

"He came back from Paris as a real man," Ximen commented as we talked among ourselves, ignoring the flirting couple at the end of the table.

"Looks like now we only need to wait for Si to grow up. Shancai, will you wait for him?" Meizuo teased as he handed Shancai a stick of grilled squid. Shancai went silent as she ate the squid.

"Stop it. Shut up." Ah Si scolded but Meizuo just shrugged and laughed.

"If Ah Si does grow up, I'll pay for their wedding." I joked which made Ah Si choke and Shancai blush. Ximen and Meizuo laughed and high fived me.

"Did I say something wrong?" I innocently asked as I batted my eyelashes at Ah Si who glared at me. I laughed and ate the last piece of chicken on Meizuo's plate.

"Hey! That's mine!" He protested as I chewed on the chicken.

"The chicken is really good," I answered as I smiled while he pouted.

"I agree," Ximen added making us all laugh.

After dinner, we all went up to our rooms to get some sleep. We had some activities planned out that Ah Si had scheduled early in the morning so he said to get as much sleep as we can. I washed my face and watched a movie before falling asleep.

I wasn't sure what time it was when I felt someone shaking me awake. I slowly opened my eyes and glared at the person who woke me up. It was Ah Si, behind him were Meizuo and Ximen. I groaned and covered myself in blankets again but Ah Si shook me again. I reached for my phone under my blanket and checked the time. 11:45 pm.

"Shuijing! Get up!" he said which made me scream into my pillow in frustration. I sat up and glared at him.

"Do you want to die early?" I calmly said as I looked at him. His eyes shook in fear and moved to stand behind Meizuo.

"I told you! You should've been the one who woke her up!" He whispered harshly as he hit Meizuo in the shoulder.

"I don't wanna get murdered! Besides, I told you not to remember? But nooo, you said to bring her." Meizuo complained which made me more annoyed. I was still tired so I glared at them and took a deep breath.

"Cut the crap and tell me what's going on. It better be a good reason for waking me up in the middle of the night." I threatened as I ruffled my hair.

"Shancai is missing! I called her but she's not answering. She could've gotten lost or worse, she could've drowned in the sea!" Ah Si panicked. I sighed and laid back down.

"You're overreacting Ah Si. Maybe she went for a walk. I mean, I would to if I was stuck in a room with you for the rest of the trip." I joked which made Meizuo and Ximen laugh.

"Not funny! Come on! Get up! We're going to find her!" He said as he suddenly moved to pick me up but I glared at him.

"If you even think about carrying me downstairs to help you find Shancai, forget it. I will make sure that you will 'accidentally' drown in the sea. Understand Ah Si?" I threatened which made Ah Si pale. He scoffed and headed out of my room.

"Whatever! Come on let's go!" He said as Ximen followed. I groaned and grabbed my jacket from the bedside table and walked downstairs with Meizuo. I walked slower than since I was still sleepy and I guess he noticed because he gestured for a piggyback ride. I smiled and got on his back and wrapped my arms loosely around his neck while he held my legs from behind.

"Wow. You have gotten heavier." He joked which made me hit his head as we went down to find Shancai. Ximen and Ah Si were near the restaurant. Ximen looked like he was gonna kill Ah Si for waking him up. I feel you, bro. Ximen smirked when he saw me and Meizuo and I just shrugged as Meizuo put me down.

"I think it's best if we split up to look for her," I suggested which made Ah Si and Ximen nod. They proceeded to walk in different directions and as I was about to walk towards the beachfront, Meizuo pulled my arm.

"Are you fine going alone?" He asked as he stared into my eyes. My eyes looked to where he was holding me then back at him. I smiled softly.

"I'll be fine Zuo," I said as he let go of my arm as I walked towards the beachfront.
