《Country Living - Finn Harries (JacksGap)》Chapter 6: Letters and Gifts

'Dear Morgan, I will forewarn you that I will say 'I wish I were home' a billion times in this letter and it will still not express my want to come home. Although New York is cool and all, it will never beat Florence and you and everyone else. I've had so many people ask me about my accent (It's getting annoying). And, get this, they ask me if I like Tennessee football (It has been the struggle trying not to explode into Alabama pride...).'
I laughed a little before I began to read more of the letter. The more I read, the more my eyes watered and wanted to spill. It made me miss Kennedy even more.
'I got you some stuff to cover for your birthday, Christmas, and graduation. Mom has been strict on who I talk to, so this might be the only time I get to talk to you and send you stuff. James (the step-guy) gave me an unlimited credit card so I wouldn't have to ask him for money, so I got you some cool stuff. You don't have to give me anything, especially since Mom is checking and making sure I don't get to see anything from Florence (but if you want to go on my iTunes account and put some gift cards on there, that would be cool. J). Tell Mrs. Jenny that I think about her all the time, and that yall will always be in my prayers. Hopefully we'll see each other soon, or when Aslan calls, or when we're invited to an Order of the Phoenix meeting. Just not at the Hunger Games, please. Love you with all my Disney addicted, Rowling loving, and bully hating heart, Kennedy.'
I finished reading the letter, wiping my face with my shirt sleeve. "Aw... I wish I had friends like that." Jack said. "Ugh, don't cry, Morgan." I said to myself. "Let's see what she got you." Finn said, sitting down on the other side of the boxes. I pulled on the tissue paper to reveal all the stuff Kennedy got me. Jewelry, like bracelets, necklaces and earrings, were in the box, along with a Canon camera, a laptop, some black Beats, and a few different phone cases. There was also a new flat iron, a curling wand set, a new hairdryer, and a large pallet of makeup. In the second box, there was a pair of high waisted jean shorts, 3 really cute plaid shirts, 2 belts, and 3 pairs of Converses: one black, one lilac purple, and one pokkadotted pair. 'Wear this to the Summer Hoedown. If I find out that you didn't go, I'm so going to win the Hunger Games against you. ♥ K.' a note in the box said. "Look at that, you even have an outfit. You have to go now." Finn said. "And you guys have to come with me." I said. "What?!" Jack asked in a girly voice. "Yeah, since you guys are so into me going, you have to go with me. Like Finn said earlier, you guys aren't here to just work on the farm." I said. "That's true, I did say that." Finn said. "But, I have nothing to wear." Jack said. "Oh, come on. Just some jeans and some plaid. I bet Josh left some plaid, maybe even some boots. You guys have to come." I said. "I'm in." Finn said, winking at me. "Sure, I guess I have to be in as well." Jack said. "Great, now, you guys can help me with chores." I said, making Jack groan and Finn laugh.

Godslayers
In the ancient, brutal days, the Eifni Organization reached heaven through violence and tore the gods from their thrones. Now their methods are more precise. Etheric technology allows them to measure love, create beauty, and reincarnate the souls of the dead into new bodies. By embedding specially-trained operatives—godslayers—into a culture, they can create the exact conditions to kill a god and save the souls it would otherwise devour. Lilith was a run-of-the-mill college atheist until a divine being took a bite out of her soul. Rescued by the Eifni Organization, she signed on as a godslayer. Now, after years of training, she's deploying on her first real mission to a planet called Theria. Objective: perform reconnaissance on the local pantheon and clear out as many of the gods as they can before the strike team arrives. There's just one problem: the Therians seem to know they're coming. Godslayers is a story about intrigue, meaning, and people being too clever for their own good. Updates Tuesdays and Fridays.
