《Demigods Meet Mortals》Diane Bane (Percy Jackson | Thalia Grace)

Not the best writing I've done, but here it is. Also, spoilers for Burning Maze and Tyrant's Tomb!
__________
'Percy, is something wrong?' Diane asked, Percy had only been quiet at school once before at school, and that was after a trip to Greece for something. What could it possibly be this time?
Percy glanced up from his untouched food, 'Oh yeah, I'm fine.'
Percy's eyes betrayed him. They were bloodshot, as if he didn't sleep for a while, or cried. The boy had been carrying a coin with him all day long for some weird reason. The boy tried to joke and laugh, but it never reached his eyes.
'I just found out about something last night, no big deal.' The boy muttered, this time, the whole table was concerned. Diane exchanged worried glances with her friends Victoria and Hal, something was wrong with Percy, and they wanted to find out what.
♡
In English, Mr Blofis seemed a little concerned for Percy as well. 'Mr Jackson, do you need a minute?' He asked a few times during the block, every time Percy shook his head. During interval, Percy talked with five other people under the bleachers, a Latino kid, a blond girl, a pretty girl with kaleidoscopic eyes, a small girl with gold eyes, and a Chinese guy with brown hair and brown eyes.
The group sat there the whole time, talking about who knows what.
But in the middle of school-wide P.E, I finally found out what had broken Percy Jackson for the second time since I've known him, and frankly, I saw him in a whole new light after.

'Alright guys, split up in your-'
Coach Wilson's words were cut off when the gymnasium doors flew open, hitting the wall with a heavy thud. A punk girl wearing dark clothing with shoulder length black hair and electric blue eyes stormed in, a bow and quiver of arrows slung over her shoulder. The girl grabbed the kid closest to her, a freshman called Daniel Roster. 'Where. Is. Perseus. Jackson.' The girl growled, looking as if she was going to kill him, painfully. The kid opened his mouth but couldn't speak.

'I'm right here, Thalia.'
Thalia stalked to Percy, eyes wild with rage. She grabbed Percy's collar, hitting him. Percy offered no resistance.
'How can he be dead? How could you let him die?' Thalia yelled, though her voice was getting weaker by the minute. She repeated those words until Percy snapped. He looked down at the blue eyed girl. 'You think I made the decision? Jason was like a brother to me Thalia, and he was one to you. You really think I wanted him dead? I want to rip that emperor apart with my bare hands!' Percy cried out to nobody in particular.
At that, Thalia's arms slid off Percy, and onto the floor, clenched into fists. She was shaking with silent tears, Percy had calmed down, he wrapped his arms around the girl, tears visible on his face. Though it was very faint, I could still hear Thalia's words.
'He wasn't meant for death Percy, Jason was young, he was meant for so much more.' Percy closed his eyes at her words.
'I know Thalia. Jason was meant to rebuilt Camp Jupiter, he should be sparring with me at Camp Half-Blood, having a good laugh with Leo, watching the sunrise with Piper.' Percy said in a dreamy state.
That was when I realised, Percy Jackson was more broken, he's been through too much for someone his age. And that was when the sky raged and sea raged together as one, everyone could see out the windows, thunder and lightning from the sky, waves hurling towards the coastline from the not-so-far-away beach, and while others were listening to the outside world, I was listening to the two broken demigods before me.
'Jason Grace was meant to be alive.'

Making a difference
Harry Potter FanFiction: Hannah Longbottom liked to watch the people who entered the Wizarding World via the small, walled courtyard behind the Leaky Cauldron for a reason: During her not so long life, she had learned about three different boys who had entered the Wizarding World alone, leaving behind a life so horrible she could barely imagine. One of them, who became a friend of hers, had gone through great hardships to become a hero, one of the greatest wizards the Wizarding World had ever seen. One of them, who had been her teacher, had become cold and bitter, and no one had ever recognized what amazing talents he could have offered, until it had been too late. One of them, the monster she had helped to fight during the Battle of Hogwarts, had become the most dreaded, most dangerous, and most deadly man Great Britain had ever seen, and yet it could have all been different, if someone had just tried to make that difference early enough in that life, if he had not boarded the train to Hogwarts all alone. Already posted at Devianart and AO3, I've included a link to RoyalRoad on my profiles there.
