I was sleeping so peacefully. All I could think about was Magnus. I was dreaming about us both.... together. I knew he didnt like me. There was no way. And yet here I was fantasizing about us together. We were laughing and having drinks. It felt real to me, but I knew it wasn't.
There was a small clanking sound in front of me. My eyes flew open, but not to fast. "Cream or Sugar?" I heard a voice say. I would know that voice anywhere. I saw Magnus standing over me. There was coffee on the table. Suddenly the memories flew back to me. It wasn't a dream. We did have drinks last night. The only thing I was fantasizing was me and Magnus being together. That was never going to happen.
I sat up quickly and was blinded from the light. My head was pounding. "Maybe I had one to many drinks last night." I said to myself. I looked back at Magnus. "Did I fall asleep?" I asked him. He smiled and took a seat next to me. "We both did." He replied. I got off the couch the second he sat down. He looked at me. "On separate couches. Never fear." He told me. I walked a little farther from him.
"I should have never taken you up on your offer for drinks last night." I told him while grabbing my jacket off the back of the couch. He stood up with me. "In hindsight, liquor might have been a bad idea after being drained of all my magic to heal your friend Luke." He said to me. I started to put my jacket on.
"Not my friend. He's Clary Fairchild's. I've only known her for five days and she's already more trouble than she's worth." I said annoyed. I adjusted my jacket and looked away from Magnus's stare. "You're more than just a pretty face arnt you." He said in question. "Did he just call my face pretty?" I asked myself. I smiled in my mind but I kept my expression hard. "What's that supposed to mean?" I asked him instead.

"You shared your strength with me to help your friend. Its rare to find a Shadowhunter with... such an open heart." He said. I felt my expression slowly start to soften. I tried my best not to let it show. "I trust you." I said kind of hard. My expression softened. "I dont know why, but I do." I realized I failed to keep my hard look. I cleared my throat and adjusted my jacket once more. I looked away. "What time is it? I have to get back to the Institute." I said quickly while trying to find all my stuff.
"Stay for breakfast!" Magnus said suddenly. "I conjure up a mean Belgian waffle." He looked at me with very convincing eyes. I mentally shook my head to snap out of my daze. "No." I said shortly. I pointed at him. "And if you let anyone know that I slept here last night...." he cut me off. "Relax. My reputation is is on the line just as much as yours. I'd lose all my credibility if my people found out that I let a Shadowhunter spend the night." He said to me.
"Why'd you let me sleep here?" I asked him. I was interested in why. He looked down quickly then back up at me. "Trust makes you do strange things." He inhaled sharply. "Must be something in the air." He smiled at me.
I looked at my phone. It said it was 9:30 am. I knew I needed to get back to the Institute, but I didn't want to leave. I could feel some of the walls I kept up slowly go down. "Belgian waffles are my favorite." I said with a small smile. He looked at me. "Really?" He asked almost surprised. "I'm shocked you shadowhunters have time to go out and eat something." He said with a laugh. I shook my head confused. "Who said anything about going out?" I asked him.

"Well... Isabelle cant cook. Who else cooks?" He asked me. "Me." I said to him. He smiled. "You cook?" He asked. "Yeah." I replied to him with a grin. Then I made a risky move. "Maybe I'll be able to show you sometime." I said.
"I would like that." He said to me with a smile. He snapped his fingers and a table appeared with all the food. "But for now...." he said with a mischievous smile. He motioned towards the food and we sat down.
I saw the syrup in the middle of the table and I reached for it. Apparently Magnus had the same idea. Out hands touched on the handle. I quickly put my hand back at my side and he smiled. "You dont have to be afraid of me, Alexander." He said. "I'm not afraid of anything." I said defensively. He chuckled. "Just enjoy the moment Alexander." He said with a smile. I chuckled and smiled at him to.
We were laughing and joking at the table when suddenly I felt my phone buzzing. I looked at it and saw it was a text from Jace. "Where are you?" The text said. I sighed out loud. "Jace needs me back at the Institute." I said to Magnus. He nodded his head.
I stood up and walked towards the door. He followed me. "Thank you for breakfast." I said to him. He smiled. "Of course." He replied. We stood there in awkward silence for a few moments. "Alright." I mumbled. I walked out of the door quickly and it closed behind me.
I practically ran out of the hallway and down the stairs. I had just reached outside when I stopped. I had, yet again, let him slip away. I was tired of fantasizing about him. I wanted it to be real. No matter what people thought. Sure it was very unlike me, but I didnt care. I have kept the walls around my heart for to long.
I turned around and ran back up the stairs to his apartment. I walked quickly down the hall to his door. When I got there I took a deep breath. This was really not like me. I didn't even know what I was going to do or what I was going to say. I raised my hand to the door and knocked three times. I could hear footsteps coming to the door.
Magnus opened it up and chuckled. "Forget something?" He asked me. I felt a lump in my throat, but I acted quickly. "Yes." I said shortly. I walked straight through the door and crashed my lips onto his. I closed the door behind us without breaking apart. We both landed on the couch together. He looked at me. "Well that was graceful." He said surprised. "Shadowhunter." I told him. "Huh." He said before kissing me again.
We stayed like this for hours embraced in each other's arms. I felt my phone buzz like twenty times, but I completely ignored it. Sure there might have been a demon attack at the Institute and I wouldn't know, but I could feel Jace through our parabatai bond. He was fine.
"You continue to surprise me Alexander." He told me after a few minutes of silence. I chuckled. "Yeah. I surprise myself sometimes." He laughed. My phone rang again. "Please check your phone Alec. Its been ringing for three hours." Magnus said acting like he was exhausted. I smiled and grabbed the phone.
I smiled as I told Jace I would be back tomorrow morning. Magnus read the text as I wrote it. "Morning?" He asked with a smile. "Enjoying the moment." I said to him. We kissed again on the couch.
