ALEC
Izzy and I were searching the monitors for the demons that had suddenly disappeared. As we were searching my thoughts kept going to Jace. I was stupid to let him and Clary go alone. Anything could have happened to them.
As if reading my mind Magnus spoke. "Any word from Jace and Clary?" He asked me. I shook my head. "No. But they should be arriving at the lake soon." I replied.
"Still no demons." Izzy called to us. I shook my head in frustration. "Where the hell could they have gone?" I muttered to myself. I sighed. "We need to keep looking. They couldnt have just disappeared." I said.
We kept searching for a few more minutes. Without warning I felt a sharp pain. I stumbled forward and gasped. "Alexander?" Magnus asked. "Are you ok?" Izzy took a step forward towards me. "I..." I tried to speak but I couldnt. The pain was to much.
I lifted part of my shirt up to see my parabatai rune. It was glowing red. "His parabatai rune." Izzy said quietly in fear. Instantly there was another sharp pain. "Jace!" I gasped. Suddenly memories were flowing through me like a waterfall.
I remembered the first time Jace came to live with us. I was practicing with my bow and arrow and almost hit him. I remembered him always being so cocky and him always thinking he was the best. I remembered the day he asked me to become his parabatai. I remembered the moment we got our parabatai runes after we completed out training.
I remembered him waking me up from my unconscious state with just his thoughts. I remembered comforting him when he found out Clary wasn't his sister.
The memories spread through me like a wildfire. More pain came and I screamed. I gripped onto the table. My knuckles were turning white. The pain was so terrible I fell to the ground. "JACE!" I screamed. I could feel him weakening. I could feel the pain he was experiencing.

I felt like I was choking on my own breath. There was so much emotion flowing through us. The level of emotion that was being exposed kept climbing up.
For one moment I could feel everything. The next he was gone. I felt nothing. I tried reaching out, but there was nothing. I checked my rune again. It had disappeared. I felt tears coming to my eyes. He was gone. My brother... my parabatai was dead.
My tears poured out of my eyes. "He's gone." I whispered. "Jace is dead." I said. Izzy started to cry into my shoulder and I felt nothing. The second heartbeat that went so well with mine was gone. Everything disappear.
"We have to go help them." I whispered quietly while getting up. They nodded and Magnus opened a portal. We walked through and were instantly in Idris.
We ran for a few minutes to get to the lake. We could tell Raziel had been risen. When we reached around the bend, the bright light from the angel was gone. All three of us stopped in our tracks as we took in the scene in front of us. Valentine was dead on the floor. The mortal instruments were no where to be seen. And Clary was hugging a dead Jace. The other two ran ahead of me to figure out what happened while I mourned the loss of my brother.
I fell to the ground with tears falling out of my eyes. There were so many emotions going on inside of me, but I paid no attention to them. "Alec?" I heard a small whisper. I looked up at the familiar voice. I gasped. "J–Jace?" I stuttered in disbelief. He smiled a sad smile at me. "Yeah." He relied.
"You...you were dead. Our parabatai rune... it... it disappeared." I said while more tears fell. He shook his head at me and came closer to me. "I did die Alec. I'm sorry you went through that. Clary used the wish with Raziel on me. She brought me back." He told me. He had tears in his eyes as well.

I closed the distance that was between us. I wrapped my arms around him and he did the same to me. I cried into his shoulder. "I thought you were dead." I whispered into him. "I'm right here, Alec. I wont leave you." He said. I nodded into him and looked down. I pulled my shirt up slightly and saw the rune back in its place. Relief washed over me and I hugged my brother harder.
