"What am I supposed to do to save him?" I asked Rose. She sighed while explaining. "He feels like he doesn't deserve to come back. You have to try to change his mind. You cant physically bring him back, but you can try and convince him that he deserves to live." She explained.

"I'll do anything." I told her confidently, but inside I felt like I was dying. She placed a hand on my shoulder in comfort. "Remember. I know exactly what you feel. You cant hide with me." She said with a sympathetic smile. I nodded at her. I was to worked up to speak.

"There's one more thing you need before you go and find him." She told me. I waited for her to continue. "You need something that will ground you to this world. If you go in blind, you might go into the same state that Jace is in right now." She explained.

"Come with me." I told her while making my way towards the door. She obeyed and stayed by my side as we walked out the door and down the stairs.

We both walked silently to the infirmary. When we walked in my eyes went straight to Jace. His body was still not moving.

I knew what state he was in, but a part of me hoped that when I walked in he would come and hug me and tell me everything was ok.

"Alec?" Izzy called my name. I shook my head slightly so that I could come back to reality. "Izzy I... I need you to go out." I told her gently, but with fear.

"Alec-" She began. "Please Izzy." I pleaded with her.

"What are you going to do Alec?" She asked me in a quiet voice. I felt my hand start to shake slightly. "I'm gonna bring him back." I told her. She walked over to me and gave me a hug. "Please be careful." She told me sternly, but sweetly. She turned and walked to the door.

"I cant lose you too." She finished while walking out the door. I swear I saw a tear roll down her cheek.

Rose looked at me in confusion. She really had no idea what I was doing. She might have known my bond with Jace, but she didnt know my heart and Jace's. She didnt know about the countless nights we spent together when we were children. She didnt know how many fears we shared or how many times we comforted each other. She didnt know of the time Jace practically jumped into my arms when he saw a duck on one of our demon hunting trips. The memory made me chuckle.

I walked over to the medical bed he was laying on. He had curled over to one side of the bed in his unconsciousness which left plenty of room for me.

I slid in next to him and was met with a chill that came from him. It was like he had been dead for hours.

I gently locked my arm with his and glided my hand into his. I curled my fingers around his hand and slowly he did the same. My breath got stuck in my throat.

"How did he..." I asked quietly. She smiled at me. "His body is still responsive. It's his mind that is lost." I nodded at her in response.

"You ready?" She asked me. "Yes." I replied. She closed her eyes and immediately I felt tired. My eyelids started to close and I was met with complete darkness.

Everything felt like it was spinning. I felt lost in the never ending black.

"Focus Alec. Follow the bond that ties you to Jace." Rose's voice echoed around me.

I focused as hard as I could on our bond. It was weak, but it was strong enough for me to find it. I reached out with my mind.

Suddenly small fragments of images flooded my mind. It was like fitting different puzzle pieces together. The image slowly came to life and my feet touched the ground. I stood for a few seconds. I was incredibly dizzy, bit it didn't stop me.

I ran straight for the house that was in front of me. I barged through the front door and ran towards the bedroom in the back. The images of Jace and of the specific bedroom came into my mind. The bond was drawing us closer together.

I turned the handle and walked into the room. It was dark, but I saw a figure sitting with head in hands on the floor. I turned on the faint light. "Jace?" I asked. The strangers head lifted up and I gasped.
