《The Badboy Prince Just Can't Resist》Chapter 9- And There Was Damien's Perspective

I walked into the unio forest, right behind Mettleting High where I ate lunch every single day with the boys. We liked being away from watchful eyes so we can do whatever we want, bring any girls we want, drink whatever we want, I think you get the picture. Yet ever since I met Woods, I haven't wanted to touch any other girl. I just wanted to look at her.
Feel her.
"No girls today," I said as soon as I sat down in my usual chair. I picked up a xamba from the cooler and popped it open. I looked out into the small waterfall flowing into the pool of water down below.
Not able to be seen at all, a small cave below the surface. Only if you jumped into the hole, into the water, you would be able to see the beautiful cave. I've always thought about taking my mother down there.
"Let's just relax and eat for a few days. We can be with girls anytime, let's just hang out and drink."
"What, Damien? You out of everybody would want to have some fun." Tyler gave me a laugh.
I took a long sip of my xamba, chugging the rest down. The burn gave me anticipation for more, so I picked up another bottle because I was not even buzzed,"I just don't feel like it."
"Why not? Jaclyn only has time during lunch for me, and I don't want to spend it having 'guy time'. I need some release," Tyler smiled.
"I've always wanted to play with Hazalen." Tyler continued, knowing it would get on Landon's nerves. Landon's eyes cut over to him in a hard scowl, his eyes dilated.
A look screaming I dare you.
They never did get along. So I sat back and watched, my eyebrow arched. I knew the game Tyler was playing and the outcome. For Landon's a big guy, but a softie if you got to know him. Especially when you bring up his girl.

Well... used to be.
It was obvious that Landon cared for Hazalen too deeply; I could say they were in love. I knew the look, it was one my mother and father shared long ago.
The reason Landon broke up with her made sense. If they ever wanted a future... if he wanted a future it had to happen.
And the the sad thing is that Hazzy thinks it's her.
"I wonder what it was like to-" Tyler taunted, but Landon was too quick. He had Tyler on the ground in mere seconds.
"Shut up, Tyler. I know you're just trying to make me mad." All the boys just laughed it off, we all knew he was still whipped.
I will never fall for a girl like that.
For a second my mind went to Annalise Woods. Myself asking why I couldn't get her out of my head, for she's a girl just like any other.
Everything about Annalise Woods interested me. When she laughs, it slightly brings up the corner of my lips and I have to forcefully push it back down. It sounds like church bells ringing in my ear. Her captivating blue-green eyes I want to get lost in, but she always pulls away. She usually looks the the right, every once and a while the left or at my chest.
Every single person I have met wants something from me. Wether my money, being friends with somebody with such fame, my land. Citizens want reassurance because they know if they are friends with the Prince, they could get away with anything.
Not her, not Annalise Woods.
She doesn't care about what I have. She cares about what I am, who I am; just me for me. At first I was frustrated-I still am, how could you not want me?
THE Prince of Deltora.
When I first saw her face, she was just another fling. Another girl I could call up if I wanted some fun. One of the most beautiful girls I'd ever laid my eyes on; I was excited for a change. An easy conquest, because I can get anything I want being the Prince. It has quite a few quirks.

Her hands were so soft, so delicate when I lifted her up. I wanted to intertwine our fingers together so I could feel it all. Her palm, the ridges of her tiny fingers, the soft and silky delicate skin. Nothing like my rough, large hands I spend working out and boxing all day.
"Always stay healthy, Darius. You will always be ready with a healthy mind and body, to take on anything." My mother would say. Now I don't let anybody say Darius. That's reserved for my mother, and her only.
I got my wish when I held her hand at dance class. I intertwined our fingers and held her so close, I smelt her sweet scent. My nose so close to her neck, I wanted to do so many things to it.
She's a mystery.
And that made me even more interested.
There's no record of her. Yes, she came from Gregerson but she looks nothing like one. A Gregerson has olive skin, dark eyes and light brown hair. She looks nothing like one; her skin with a tanner pigment, green-blue eyes like a ocean, and dark brown tresses.
I couldn't quite point what she was, where she might have been born. She looked as if she walked straight out of the beach.
But she's beautiful.
I need to stop. I don't know her.
But you want to.
Yes, I very much want to.
"Woah dude, you're going hard there." Cole smirked at me. I was still absent-mindfully chugging my xamba. "Got something on your mind?" I've always despised this guy. He put up such a rock front, such an confident forté, when really anybody could take him down in a few mere seconds.
"I guess you could say that." I gruffed out, definitely drunk now.
"You know... if you need some relaxing you could just get some from me." He held up a bag of mesgra.
"No, I don't want your silly drugs."
"Well you know who I want to bang?" Cole smirked at me. The boys grunted in response, and I just rolled my eyes. Probably another girl from Darlington high. There they have the biggest butts and biggest... everything.
"Annalise Woods. She's all over me too, it's going to happen soon. I promise you that. She's running after me now that she rejected... somebody else." He smirked and chuckled darkly.
I growled,"Any rumor you have heard about her and I are not true." Nobody liked me mad.
Nobody but Cole Reynolds.
"So she likes you? You have fucked?" Cole tilted his head. I looked at the rest of the boys. They looked curious but definitely did not want to join in. They knew better.
Good.
"No, she hasn't fucked anybody yet. I'm going to respect that."
"Why don't I try and ask?" He challenged me. "And if she doesn't oblige... I'll just have to make her!" He had a satisfying smirk on his face and he sprawled back out on the ground.
I lashed out at him but a few others caught me before I could reach him,"You won't touch her!"
Everybody knew I would probably kill him if I got to him. Once I get angry, it just grows and grows like kudzu. Hell, my friends didn't even know the potential of my rage at times. They almost couldn't hold me back, four of them not enough.
I watched Cole's smirking face taunting me even more, fueling the fire. In the corner I heard Tyler shout something to Landon through all the commotion. That was when Landon lashed out, and a smack was heard through the clearing.
This was the beginning of the fight.

Toothpick
“Hello! My humble audience! I, the Bard of the North, am going to tell you a tale. Nothing new, nothing old. A story of a hero, some may say, others a poor boy who was hated by the world.” The storyteller paused as he waited, right timing was everything when telling a story. Pacing… Too slow and the audience became bored then left without tossing even the smallest of coins. If he spoke too fast and rushed the story. It would leave the audience confused and having no reason to be impressed. So like any good storyteller, the Bard has to do a balancing act of sorts. Not too slow, not too fast. Just perfectly in the middle. “In a shattered country in the south, a novice princeling has the ambition to mend a torn tapestry that is his birthplace. Struggling to fend off those who would usurp the throne in an unending civil war spanning centuries. A mercenary that left only death in his wake, unable to stave off the monotony and peace of life. He looks back at the path laden with bodies, wondering if it was all worth it. Wandering souls summoned by a madman, travel away from a wasteland in a foreign land, the first alone, the others as companions. A deity, ancient in her years, waiting to be freed from a duty she no longer enjoys. For all these people and their stories, none are the hero of this tale. No, the hero is not grand, not wise, not ready.. he was punished for nothing of his doing, who was an outcast that was unloved by many, including his father.” This was always the big reveal novices use to jump off into their story. He did not start here, instead, like any good fishermen, he set the bait and waited until the fish bit before pulling. As he saw the audience's eyes focus, he then started the backstory. The harness, that stopped the listeners from having metaphorical whiplash. The foreshadowing. “But that is not where the story starts. No, not even the hero's birth. Where the story begins, is the boredom of the deity, a deity many know of. She who hunts for the impossible, the guide for those who have lost the path, the Huntress of Mallon--” A small pause, a short breath. “--All old names for a single powerful being that has roamed the grounds of this continent longer than any line of kings or queens, lords or ladies. A being of worship for many an individual…” One last breath. And he began singing the first verse.
