《The Badboy Prince Just Can't Resist》Chapter 60- And There Was the Red Eyes

"Come, take a seat Miss Woods." He gestured to his guest chair. I nodded apprehensively, doing as he requested. Up close, I noticed Mr.Roswell had a beak-like nose. A mole sat on the side of it, distracting me from his beady eyes. His hair was white as a sheep's, gelled back with too much product.
"Let's talk about the event that occurred today." He glanced over my gown, taking his time around my waist. I placed my hands in front of it, wondering why his sight was wandering.
"What do you want to know?" I shifted uncomfortably, accidentally kicking a back-pack below me.
"It is to my understanding that two boys were fighting over your affection, Annalise. Why is that?"
"I don't... I don't know how to answer that, Sir."
He barked a laugh, and yet again, it didn't feel natural. "You know, my step-son was rather fond of you as well. Before he was murdered, that is."
I immediately froze, his eyes trained on my frightened reaction. He seemed to not mind my fear, as if he enjoyed it. The room felt as if it swallowed me whole, my breathing quickening. I was even afraid he could hear my heartbeat. I opened my mouth to speak, but he interjected instead.
"Don't worry, my child. I hated him anyway, and it seems as if your friends disposed of him for me. He served his purpose exactly. How about we get back to the real topic- you." He laid his chin on his hands, leaning forward. For a second I could've sworn his eyes flashed red, but I dismissed it.
"What do you want?" I questioned him, fear laced in my voice. It meant to come out demanding, but I missed my mark.
"The only reason why I married Cole's mother was to keep tabs on the Bendlar Clan. I never seemed to get any information out of him, but one of my comrades knew what the clan was planning." A smirk slowly started to form on his lips, taunting me with a long pause. He understood I knew where this was leading, and relished in my reactions.
I should've ran, called for help or screamed- but I was frozen under his stare. I wanted to know what information he was taking his dear time to share, yet fear engulfed me at the thought.
"It is also to my knowledge that the prince might get married soon, despite his affections toward you. King Eggar has always been too afraid to go against his best friend, but Damien won't think twice. This is not good for us, so we have decided to take the next step in our plan." He reached into his drawer, and the desk hindered my sight.
"Who is 'us'?" I demanded, this time with force. I could feel the trail of his eyes blazing across my body, and I tried covering it by folding my arms. Not only did he scare me, he made me feel uncomfortable to the point where I had to hold myself.

"Us Descuvians, of corse. We finally tracked you down in Deltora and have been watching you ever since. Falling in love with the prince wasn't apart of the plan, but it will work nicely as bait."
My mouth gaped open, nails digging into my arms for any source of support. I had presumed the man with the yellow teeth from the ball had been apart of the Bendlar Clan, but I was wrong. I had hoped the terrifying presence of his knife on my neck had been all but a dream, his warning of my actions being watched. The way the man's eyes flashed red- the same as Mr. Roswell's- striking fear through me at the thought.
It seemed the raging Descuvi possessed power that a normal thug did not. I thought the Bendlar clan was frightful, yet I realized after meeting another demented Descuvi that this was incorrect. Mr.Roswell's presence alone made me want to quiver under his sight, terrifying me to the bone.
Get me out of here.
I started to get out of my chair, wanting to escape his gaze. His eyes flashed red, a brilliant deep that only lasted for a mere moment- the color of blood. I was suddenly immobilized, my body relaxing against my seat.
His eyes...
I tried to scream, make a peep, anything- but I was finally literally and figuratively trapped. My body would not move, no matter how many times I tried to even lift a finger.
He stood up, his lanky legs not needing many steps to reach me. He placed a cloth on the table, and I presumed he had gotten it from his desk. It was the same sort of cloth Cole used to put me to sleep, kidnapping me to the cave.
My anxiety doubled as he drew near, realizing he was meaning to kidnap me, the Descuvi themselves. He could do so without the cloth, his flashing eyes having power over me- but he relished in my fear of knowing the cloth was there.
"You know that day Cole tried to trap you in the music room, Princess?" He trailed a finger around my neck, fascinated by it. I was still immobilized, viewing his mole and gelled hair up close. I wished I had never stepped into his office.
Get me out of here.
"I saved you, who knows what that mesgra brain of his would have done to you! I was wondering if you would return the favor." He placed my hair behind my shoulders, wanting a better view of my neck. I could only watch as his lust-filled eyes met mine, terrifying me even further than I thought possible.
"Have you lost your virtue yet? You know, that's what it takes to be a true Descuvi." I felt his hands slide to my back where my corset was laced, trying to find the bow.

Get me out of here.
I felt a tear slide down my face, the only source of emotion that could be shown from my immobilized state. Once Mr.Roswell noticed, he barked a laugh in appreciation. He leaned forward, licking the tear off my face.
"It seems I was correct- you haven't lost your virtue yet. What a shame Damien never had the pleasure to do so." His hands slowly untangled the knot, and I felt more tears fall down my face.
"What if the Prince despises you instead? Finding out you are the Princess of Descuvi! You have lied to him all this time, and now you shall return to your throne. He will believe it was all an act."
I felt the ribbon fall, and he started to undo my laces."You have such a marvelous figure, Princess. I wonder if even your father will be able to keep his hands off of you."
I heard a loud bang behind me, yet I couldn't see the source. Mr.Roswell ceased his actions, my dress almost falling off my chest, loose as could be.
"Why, you!" Mr. Roswell was thrown against the desk, a thwack resonating throughout the room. Instead of crying tears of sadness, I wanted to cry tears of joy- yet I still couldn't move.
Mr. Roswell lurched forward, taking the attacker by surprise of his force. I heard strangling against the door, and another punch being thrown. Blood splattered on the carpet in front of me, but who's?
Jack.
He sprinted to the desk, reaching for the cloth. He glanced at my frozen state, not having time to wonder what was wrong. Mr.Roswell grabbed a bat, lurching at Jack with it. He ducked the first swing, grabbing onto the desk for support. The second swing he caught in his bare hands, a furious glare set onto our principal.
"You pervert!"
He tried to pull the bat away from him, but instead he was knocked back into the wall, trapped. Mr.Roswell dropped the bat to strangle him, a growl ripping through his throat. His eyes flashed red again, fixated on Jack. He slacked against his hands, stuck in our principals trance. With Mr. Roswell's focus on Jack, I tried lifting my hands.
Come on, Annalise. You have royal blood. Resist him!
I stood up, breaking the principal's spell on me. I spotted the cloth, and realized exactly what I needed to do. I moved at the speed of lightning, hearing Jack's strangled groans fueled my fire. I jumped on Mr. Roswell's back, placing the cloth on his mouth as Cole did to me.
He let go of Jack, trying to throw me off of him. I didn't let up as he backed into a wall, my head banging against it. He was choking, scratching against my arms at the fumes but I couldn't stop. I wouldn't stop.
"Annalise!" Jack yelled at me. He held the bat in his hand, and I knew what he was planning.
I let go of him immediately, falling against the wall. Jack swung the bat, landing a perfect shot against his head. He fell to the floor, his white hair now tinted with blood and his body twitching. I grabbed the cloth again, placing it against his mouth. I made sure not to look into his eyes but instead his arms as they slowly came to a halt, not moving an inch.
I finally sat back, breathing heavily. My mind still felt clouded from his spell, and my dress was almost falling off. Despite the feeling of terror, I had come out of the situation unscathed.
"That fucking pervert. How the hell did he do that?" Jack was grasping at the roots of his hair, pacing. There was a large bruise forming on the side of his neck, blood trailing out of his ear. Mr.Roswell must've landed a hit on him.
"I came back to grab my fucking back-pack and find this. How the hell did he do that!" He yelled into the air, trying to find something for his ear.
I started lacing my corset back up, eyeing his body on the ground.
They are ready to take me back to Descuvi.
"Did you get hurt?" Jack leaned down, watching me dress myself with worry. "I can't imagine how you feel right now, Annalise."
The funny thing was, I did not feel sad or scared- I was mad. My "people" were trying to kidnap me, in doing so defiling me. They did not respect me as a woman, or even their Princess. I shall never rule over such a kingdom. I hated them.
"He was Descuvi."
"What?"
"He was a spy from Descuvi. Don't make me repeat myself." I stood up, my voice holding authority. My gown was presentable, while dusting myself off I realized splotches of blood apparent on the silk.
"What should we do now?" Jack asked, ready for my command.
"Find Damien."

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
