《Outlander》Chapter 2

Today is the day. October 8th. The day Steve wakes up and tries to run away from S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters building but is stopped by Nick Fury himself in Times Square.
Sighing as I put on my coat, I trudged towards the kitchen seeing Fergus with a blue apron, "Morning, sleepy head." He greeted, as I huffed and sat down.
"Morning, early birds." I replied as if on cue Ian and James entered the kitchen, "We have to hurry." James said and grabbed a toast.
"I can take you there." I said as they looked at me, "Really?" Ian asked, his eyes brightened.
"Uh-huh." I replied as we began to eat our breakfast.
Later on, standing in the living room, "Now, hold hands." I said, hearing them grunt as they held each other's hands.
Laughing at their reaction, the three of them looked at me, "What?" they asked in unison, "I was just kidding." I said as I concentrated on what the outside of the headquarters looked like based on the movie I watched.
Seconds later, we were already outside the facility, "Damn." Ian mumbled, "Thank you, Via." James said, "No problem." I replied, "Now, on your way, agents. Captain Rogers will wake up soon. Remember what I told you." I said as I turned away from them.
"Where are you going?" Fergus asked, "Times Square." I replied, looking at him over my shoulder, earning a confused look from him, chuckling at his reaction as I shrugged my shoulders, walked away and teleported.
☘
"The City that Never Sleeps." I mumbled and walked around the busy street of New York. Looking down at my wrist watch as my feet brought me to Times Square.
Leaning my back at the post, waiting for something to happen.
Seconds later, the something I've been waiting for is in the middle of the street. A man with blonde hair, blue eyes, wearing a white shirt, light brown trousers and brown shoes.
The man out of time. Captain America in flesh. Steven Grant Rogers.
Clicking my tongue in disapproval, "Those dumbasses didn't listen to me." I whispered, six black cars surrounded him.
"At ease, soldier!" Fury said as I mumbled the words he was saying. Fury approached him with his all black outfit and his iconic eye patch.
"Look, I'm sorry about that little show back there, but we thought it best to break it to you slowly." he said, I scoffed, rolling my eyes and shaking my head.

"Break what?" Steve asked, still breathless from his run, confusion and lost dancing in his eyes, "You've been asleep, Cap. For almost 70 years." Fury replied as I mumbled the exact same words, smiling remembering how my brother influenced me watching this movie.
And now seeing it happening in front of me, I bet he'll freak out and hyperventilate.
I bet Captain Rogers is disappointed there weren't any flying cars yet.
Laughing at my thought, "You gonna be okay?" Fury asked, Steve looked around, "Yeah. Yeah. I just... I had a date." Steve replied as my smile instantly disappeared.
Exhaling a breath as I stand up.
Priorities.
"What the hell am I even thinking?" I mumbled, chuckling as I shook my head, "Stupid soulmate thing." I mumbled, rolling my eyes and sighed.
Feeling my wrist itch, my eyes widened.
"No." I said as I looked at Steve, he was holding his forearm, desperately looking around. Fury asked him something but he ignored it, continued to look around, and began to walk.
"Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ. He can't see me." I murmured as I quickly left the Time Square, reaching an deserted alley looking around as I immediately teleported back to the house.
Plopping down on the couch as I heaved a sigh of relief. "I have to be extra careful." I said as I closed my eyes.
"Fury will send him tomorrow at the Retreat to stay for the meantime, until he is needed for the Avengers Initiative." I said, exhaling another breath.
"What will I do now?" I asked, still closing my eyes and remembered something. Getting up abruptly, "If the Avengers and Loki are my soulmate, and Loki will unsuccessfully invade Earth, they will fight, and Loki will be imprisoned in Asgard." I mumbled and started to pace back and forth in the living room.
"What the heck am I going to do to prevent that from happening?" I asked, obliviously biting my thumb.
"Loki now is in the Sanctuary where he will meet the Other and Thanos." I mumbled, sighing feeling dizzy from all the information in my head.
"What if I send an anonymous letter to the S.H.I.E.L.D. stating all of the information I know." I mumbled as I shook my head. "They will immediately find the sender and question me." I said, exhaling a breath as I sat back down.
"I'm going crazy." I said, running my hands through my hair, noticing a silver highlight on my hair, I gasped as I went inside the bathroom.

My brown eyes were now electric blue with black tint on the outline. My all black hair now has gray and silver highlights.
"What the fuck." I said, my eyes widened as I touched my hair. "When? How?" I mumbled as I continued to stare at my reflection.
"Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ." I whispered, rubbing my temple as I went back to the living room.
Looking at the clock it was already half past eleven in the morning, sighing as I teleported back to the alley, making sure that no one saw me. I roamed around again, not minding where my feet brought me.
Looking up, arriving at an orphanage, Cradles Orphan Home.
Kids were playing outside, smiling as I remembered Abel's twins.
"You seem fond of kids." A voice said as I looked on my left, a nun was standing beside me with her gentle smile.
"Yeah, I have godchildren. Twins." I replied as I looked back at the kids.
"Where are they?" She asked, "They're gone." I replied, "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that dear. Why don't I introduce you to them?" She asked as I looked at her, smiling and nodding my head.
"Come." She said, as I followed her and we approached the children.
"Everyone, I have someone to introduce to you." She said with her gentle voice, the children looked at her as they stopped playing.
"Go on, dear." She said, gently nudging me, clearing my throat as the kids attention now on me, exhaling a breath as I smiled at them. "Hi, I'm Rivia Jones. You can call me RJ or Via." I said as silence engulfed us.
I began to feel pressured and seconds later, the kids ran towards me with a big smile on their face, "Hi, my name is Shan." said a girl with pigtails, smiling at her as I patted her head.
"Nice meeting you, Shan." I said, earning a giggle from her, "Me, next." A girl piqued, excitedly her skin was as white as snow, "I'm Marie." She said as I nodded my head.
As the children continued to introduce themselves one by one, I noticed a boy sitting alone on the corner.
Standing up as I stare at him, "He's always been aloof to everyone. His name is Claude. His parents died in a car accident, with him being the only child. He was brought here a few months ago." Sister EL said, my breath hitched hearing what she said.
Claude. Car accident.
Without knowing it I was already walking towards him, slowly approaching as he was sitting at the corner with a sketchbook on his lap, scribbling something.
"Hi." I said with a gentle voice, he quickly looked up and closed his sketchbook. Smiling at him, "Is the seat beside yours taken?" I asked as he timidly shook his head. "Mind if I sit?" I asked as I waited for him to answer.
Seconds later, he shook his head again, "Thank you." I said and sat down beside him, looking at the children as they played, ran and heard them laugh.
"I'm Rivia. You can call me Via." I said, still looking at the kids, "I'm Claude." He said, bowing his head, looking at him as I gave him a smile, "Claude. That's a wonderful name. I know someone who has the same name as yours." I replied as he looked at me.
"Really? Who?" He asked as my smile widened, "My brother. Older Brother." I answered, "Where is he?" He asked, "He's dead." I replied, his eyes widened, "Sorry." He said, averting his eyes away from me.
"It's okay. No harm done." I said as he looked at me. "My parents died recently." He said as I looked at him, "Mine too." I replied, he looked at me, our eyes met as longing and sadness prominent in his eyes.
"How do you cope with the pain?" He asked, "Acceptance." I simply answered as he tilted his head, confusingly looking at me.
"It was hard at first." I started, looking at the children, "I cried for days and nights, missing them." I added, looking back at him, "But eventually I started and learnt to accept everything and move on. Because I can't mourn for them forever and knowing my parents and brother, they want me to move on and be happy." I continued, "Although they might not be here physically with me, in my heart." I said, pointing at my heart, "They are always here with me." I finished, giving him a smile, as he smiled back at me.
