《Outlander》Chapter 21

"You need men in these buildings. There are people inside and they're going to be running right into the line of fire. You take them through the basement or through the subway. You keep them off the streets. I need a perimeter as far back as 39th." Steve informed the police.
"Why the hell should I take orders from you?" The police asked, rolling my eyes, suddenly, an explosion came up from behind Steve. An energy blast is blocked by his shield. Two Chitauri attacked.
The cops watched in shock as Steve fought them off with ease. Teleporting towards the back of the Chitauri and slicing his neck, "Just do what he says boys." I said as Steve looked at me, giving him a wink.
The Sergeant turns to his officers, "I need men in those buildings. Lead the people down and away from the streets. We're going to set up a perimeter all the way down to 39th street." He said.
Steve walked towards me and patted my head, smiling at him, "Good job, soldier." I said as he chuckled.
Attacking a few Chitauri soldiers nearby, teleporting us back to Clint, Nat, and Loki. Joining them as I repeatedly teleported behind the Chitauri soldiers. Slicing their neck, some beheading them and stabbing their nervous system.
Lightning strikes down from the sky, channeling the blast, firing the electricity out at the Chitauri soldiers around us. Blasted back in a massive shockwave, the Chitauri soldiers convulse, drop dead to the ground as Thor touches down.
"Brother." He warned, looking intently at Loki. "He means no harm, Thor. He's here to help." I interfered. Thor approached me, grabbed my hand and placed a kiss on it.
"I'm glad you're awake and well, Lady Rivia." He said as I smiled at him, "I'm glad to see you, Thor." I replied as he gave me a smile.
"What's the story upstairs?" Steve asked, "The power surrounding the cube is impenetrable." Thor replied, "Thor is right. We gotta deal with these guys." Tony said, flying above us.
"How do we do this?" Nat asked, "As a team." Steve and I replied in unison. Thor looked at Loki, "I still have unfinished business with you." He said and pointed at Loki.
"Yeah, get in line." Clint remarked, "Save it." Steve said. "Do you know who that guy is?" I asked as Thor shook his head. "He's gonna keep this fight focused on us and that's what we need. Without him these things could run wild. We got Stark up top, he's gonna need us..." the sound of the small motorbike interrupts Steve.
Smiling seeing Bruce arrive and getting off, he looked around the city and approached us.
"Bruce." I said and teleported in front of him, his eyes widened as I engulfed him with a hug.
"Are you okay? Any injuries?" I asked as he shook his head, grabbing his hand and teleporting us back to them, "So, this all seems horrible." Bruce stated.

"I've seen worse." I replied, "Sorry." Bruce said, "Nah, we could use a little worse." I continued, "Besides, I miss Hulk." I said, earning a chuckle from Bruce.
"Stark? We got him." Steve said, "Bruce?" Tony asked, "Just like you said." Steve added, "Then tell him to suit up. I'm bringing the party to you." Tony replied.
Tony comes out from behind a building with the Leviathan follows, impatiently.
"I... I don't see how that's a party..." Nat said, hesitatingly. Looking at Bruce, "Now's your time to shine, baby." I whispered as he smiled at me and walked towards the monster.
"Bruce, now might be a really good time for you to get angry." Steve said, "That's my secret, Captain. I'm always angry." Bruce replied and his body started to swell, stretch, and harden.
My eyes widened as Hulk punched the Leviathan in the nose. The creature flips over, Tony extends his arm out and releases a rocket.
As the creature explodes, Loki protectively holds my waist, pulling me closer to him and making a force field to protect all of us.
"You can do that?" I asked, amusingly as he chuckled at me. "That's amazing." I added as Thor looked at Loki and nodded his head.
☘
Hearing the roars of Chitauri soldiers. Hulk roared back and Loki removed the barrier.
"Guys." Nat called, "Call it, Captain." Tony said.
"Alright, listen up. Until we can close that portal up there, we're gonna use containment. Clint, I want you on that roof, eyes on everything. Call out patterns and strays. Tony, you got the perimeter. Anything gets more than three blocks out, you turn it back or you turn it to ash." Steve started.
"Can you give me a lift?" Clint asked, "I can teleport you there." I suggested, "No, you stay here with Steve." Tony countered, "Better clench up, Legolas." Tony added and left with Clint.
"Thor, you've gotta try and bottleneck that portal. Slow them down. You've got the lightning. Light the bastards up." Steve said as Thor flew up.
"Loki, Rivia, Natasha, and me. We stay here on the ground, keep the fighting here." He said as I nodded my head.
"Hulk, baby." I called, earning his attention, "Hulk soulmate." He replied as I nodded my head. "Do your thing. Smash." I said as he smiled at me, a most magnificent grin and leaps, soaring high up into the nearest building.
Sensing a Chitauri nearby, teleporting behind it and stabbing his nervous system. As the four of us continue to fight them, hissing feeling a pain on my left abdomen. Looking up, clicking my tongue in disapproval as I teleport in front of the Chitauri soldier who shot me.
"How dare you." I muttered, stabbing him right in his heart and slicing his neck. "Darling, are you okay?" Loki asked, worriedly as another Loki fought the Chitauri soldier behind us.

"I'm fine." I said as he looked at me hesitatingly, giving him a reassuring smile as I noticed Nat slumps back, tired.
Teleporting in front of her, seeing her busted lip and blood on the side of her head.
"Stay still." I mumbled as she held my waist. I immediately hovered my hand to her head, then moved to her lips, seconds later, Nat healed perfectly fine like nothing happened.
"Steve, none of this is gonna mean a damn thing if we don't close that portal." She said, "Our biggest guns couldn't touch it." Steve replied.
"Well, maybe it's not about guns." Nat responded, "The scepter." I muttered as they looked at me, "We can close the portal using the scepter." I added.
"You wanna get up there, you're gonna need a ride." Steve said, "I can teleport her there. Dr. Selvig is also up there." I said as Steve looked at me.
"Are you sure about this?" He asked, looking directly at me. "Yep. It'll be fun." I replied, earning a smirk from Loki.
"See you later, boys." I said, "Be careful. Both of you." Steve said as I nodded my head and saluted at him.
Holding Nat's hands as she intertwined her hands to mine. "Smooth." I remarked, hearing her chuckle.
Arriving at the rooftop of the Tower, shaking my head as I felt a little dizzy, "You okay, angel?" she asked as I nodded my head.
Looking around, Dr. Selvig wakes up as Nat walks up to the CMS machine. I approached Dr. Selvig, "Are you okay, doctor?" I asked, seeing him breathless.
"Loki's scepter, the energy... the Tesseract can't fight. You can't protect against yourself." He said as Nat approached us, looking at Nat as I nodded my head.
"It's not your fault. You didn't know what you were doing." Nat said, "We need the scepter to close the portal." I said, "She's right. It might be able to close the portal." Dr. Selvig replied and looked down, "And I'm looking right at it." He added.
"I'll go get it." I said and stood up. Nat held my hand, "Rivia." She called, looking at her as she leaned forward and kissed my lips.
My eyes widened and my breath hitched as Nat broke the kiss and rested a hand on my face. "Be careful. Come back as soon as you get the scepter." She said as I smiled at her, "Will do, fuego." I replied.
Walking towards the edge of the rooftop and looking down, seeing the scepter. I quickly teleported towards it. Grabbing the scepter and teleporting back to Natasha.
My eyes widened as I remembered something, "Tony, they're gonna send a missile headed straight for the city." I said, "What? How did you know?" He asked, "Director Fury will tell you any second now." I replied.
Dr. Selvig, back in scientist mode, clacks away at his laptop. He nods. Nat grabs Loki's scepter and proceeds to slowly break into the Tesseract's forcefield, nearly approaching the Tesseract itself.
"I can close it! Can anybody copy? I can shut the portal down!" She said, "Do it!" Steve replied, "No, wait." Tony stated.
"I got a nuke coming in, it's gonna blow in less than a minute." He added, "And I know just where to put it." my breath hitched and my eyes began to sting.
"Tony, you know that's a one-way trip." Steve warned, "Bunny, can you hear me?" He asked, I covered my mouth as tears began to streamed down my cheeks.
"Tony, no." I mumbled, "I have to, sugar." He replied, "You know I love you, right?" He added, "And I, too." I responded, seeing him climb higher and higher over the city, gaining speed.
"Tony, come back to me." I mumbled, seeing him enter the portal. Holding my breath, "Come on, baby..." Nat mumbled, "Close it." Steve said as I bit my lips, hard.
Without hesitation, Nat makes contact with the Tesseract and then quickly pulls the scepter out as the energy beam keeping the portal open runs out. The portal begins to close, looking up and seeing Tony lifelessly falling.
Grabbing Nat as I teleported us down where Tony is. Thor rips off Tony's helmet while Steve continues to check his vitals.
Running towards Tony and crouching down, jolting as Hulk furiously yells, startling Tony awake.
His eyes found mine, "What the hell? What just happened? Did you kiss me, bunny?" He asked.
"We won." Steve stated, breathlessly. Tony sighed, "Alright, yay! Hurray. Good job, guys." He said, "Let's just not come in tomorrow...let's just...take a day. Have you ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I wanna try it." He added as I chuckled.
"We're not finished yet.." Thor said and looked up the Stark Tower, following his eyes, my eyes widened seeing the only letter remaining was A.
"And then shawarma after." Tony said as I smiled at him.
☘
Teleporting us at the tower, the guy crawls onto the stair, looking like a piece of shit rag doll. He takes a few breathers and senses us behind him. He turns as my eyes widened, gasping seeing the familiar face of an acquaintance.
"Neron?" I asked as our eyes met. My soulmates looked at me, confusion dancing in their eyes, "You know him?" Thor asked, "He's an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D." I replied, "This is our first time seeing him, angel." Nat said as I furrowed my eyebrows and looked back at Neron.

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
